Best time to take a vacation to Shanghai
Early May is one of the busiest seasons in Shanghai. International Labor Day falls on the first day of May, and locals have the day off. Twenty-three million people call Shanghai home, and the city can get quite congested during this time. Late March and April are better times to visit. The weather is pleasant, and prices are more reasonable than during peak tourist season. The Duanwu Festival is held in June and is one of the more popular attractions in Shanghai. Festivities include dragon boat races, eating traditional sticky rice wrapped in leaves, contests and performances.
