Best time to take a vacation to Belize
High season runs from November through April (dry season), so plan ahead to snag discount hotel rates. February and March are the driest months, and mountainous areas are coolest. On the Cayes, temps linger in the 70s and 80s and tropical breezes bring natural air conditioning. In April and May, the mercury can reach into the 90s.
Summer is rain season, showers are typically short and sporadic, and cheap hotel rates are easier to find. Hurricane season spans from July through October.
Plan ahead if you're visiting during Carnival (the week before Lent, February) when towns host parades, dance competitions and festivities. Baron Bliss Day (March 9) is a nation-wide bash with a regatta, horse races and more.
