Your Nassau Paradise Island vacation
For an idyllic Bahamas vacation with the best of tropical ease, head to the capital city of Nassau on New Providence Island or its neighbor Paradise Island, home to the world-famous Atlantis.
A very Bahamian experience awaits in Nassau where pirate history, local culture and exotic adventures can mean everything from shipwreck diving and dolphin encounters to Junkanoo and lazy Cable Beach days. For all-inclusive luxury and family-friendly thrills, cross the bridge to Paradise Island to Atlantis.
Whether its Nassau or Paradise Island, plan your vacation with tips from Orbitz insiders on the best things to do, when to go and favorite hidden gems.
Best time to take a vacation to Nassau
The beautiful thing about planning a Nassau/Paradise Island vacation are the year-round, mild temperatures from 70 to 80 degrees and ocean-cooling trade winds served daily.
Mid-December to mid-April is the most popular time to visit with rates at a peak and holiday crowds (Christmas, Easter and the Bahamian Junkanoo). Mid-May through November brings the rainy season, with hurricane season quick to follow from June through November.
Some perfect travel windows are in May, and between Thanksgiving and Christmas, when humidity and rates are low, hurricanes are mostly out of sight and crowds dissipate, leaving more room for star treatment on a budget.
