Excellent!!

Awesome location--close to Metro, which is vital, and easy walking to Latin Qtr, Notre Dame, etc. Staff vert friendly. Room small but cozy, window view to side street, wi-fi okay, no problems! Will definitely stay again!

Realy good experience

Although the hotel is being refurbished at the moment, all was really well organised and it caused no discomfort. Everything is new and working well. Staff is most helpful, especially the young German/French speaking receptionist lady. She was most helpful with Taxis and any other assistance one needs to get around Paris. Once renovations are complete this will be a really nice hotel with an excellent location to visit Paris.

St Germain Stay

The staff were very friendly and helpful. The hotel is undergoing a refurbishment, but we didn't notice any noise. The room was very well equipped with quality bedding and fittings. The only thing is that the air conditioning wasn't working (not sure it was even connected) and the standard room is tiny, no good if you have a lot of luggage. If it fits your budget book the larger room. Breakfast room was gorgeous and the breakfast itself was great quality.

Sightseeing tip:

Close proximity to the Seine, Louvre and all the must see Paris attractions. Some very expensive, upmarket, fashionable shops close by!

For Paris, for price, hard to beat

Paris is famous for its small flats, and being Paris, in Europe, and expensive (and having stayed in hotels in other countries in Europe and the UK) we did not expect luxury for what we paid. This little hotel was wonderful. The room had style - the beams in the ceiling, the antique furniture, and so did the lounge with its Parisian decor and sense of history. The location is amazing, close to restaurants, metro, a couple of blocks from the louvre, in the midst of history - the 1920s era, the French Revolution, etc. The bed was comfortable, there were closets to put our clothes, the room was well heated and ventilated, and plenty of hot water, the staff helpful. If you do not demand absolute luxury and want a charming, clean, pleasant place to explore Paris, this is it.

Great buy, great location!

This small hotel, one block from St. Germain de Pree Church has a nice small lobby and small elevator. We stayed in an upgraded room for about $30 more and were on the 4th etage (5th floor), so I used the lift, while my claustrophobic wife climbed the 77 steps to our room. Nice and clean, good bed linens and a fine bath. The room was bright and had no carpets on the floor (which we prefer). The staff was always there to help.

Great 2 Days in Paris

Great location, nice hotel and staff. Room was comfortable. Shower was a bit too small as was bathroom in general. All in all, nice stay and would definitely stay there again.

Comes up short...

Having stayed here before, I'm comfortable speaking of the good and the bad. The Good: Location is great, rooms charming if a bit small, clean, and the staff was efficient. The Bad: Can deal with a tiny room with character, but could hardly bath in very small shower. (Please note, my wife and I are of the slender American variety.) Didn't care for room tax not being clearly stated in the advertised price, and even more so did not appreciate being solicited for an additional "tax" upon check-in. Fluent in French, it was still not clear what the additional tax was for. Also, to pay around $230 for a room, and have breakfast not included seemed a bit thin. As we're in Paris a few times a year when not running our cooking school near Cognac, we will rethink staying here before next booking.

Awesome location!

If you are in Paris as a tourist, this central location between the louvre, Musee D'Orsay and Latin quarter is perfect. Easy walking distance to many museums and sites! The hotel staff was very helpful and knowledgeable. We will definitely stay at this quirky hotel again. Not a single picture in this hotel was hanging straight, but the ease of location and wonderful staff made the quirks worthwhile. The rooms are Spartan, but comfortable. The bathrooms are a little dated but clean and the elevator is minuscule. The breakfast was excellent. The terrific staff and ideal location overcome the oddities!

Time-saving tip: Short walk from hotel

Buy your museum tickets on line in advance. Worthwhile since lines can be very long particularly at major museums!
