City break

The hotel was in the best spot by the lagoon and within walking distance from all the famous spots of Venice. The hotel was a little tired and breakfast was basic. But if you want to stay right in the heart of Venice at an affordable hotel then this is for you.

Great location

By the lagoon with a great view. Room spacious for Venice. Breakfast good, small breakfast area but not a problem. Staff extremely helpful and knowledgeable. Wifi didn't have great signal and was slow at times. Location was great for going to Murano and walking to the duomo. Make sure to research how to get to hotel ahead of time. We took the water bus (Vaparetto) through the grand canal which was slow (55 minutes from Piazzale Roma) and crowded and we had to stand near our luggage. We later found out there was a faster Vaparetto we could've taken. It was nice to be in Venice after all the tour groups and cruises left.

Great value in Venice

Our stay at the Tribute to Music Inn was very good overall. The location was ideal -- close to a vaparetto stop and St. Mark's, which was a helpful landmark for when we got lost! The room was spacious and clean, though the pillows left something to be desired. The wifi was disconnected for one evening which was inconvenient; it was working again in the morning when a different desk attendant was on duty. The included breakfast was delicious and substantial. If we return to Venice, I'd stay here again!

Venice in March

Caught the water bus from the airport to the Arsenale stop and then only a hundred yards or so. Very friendly reception staff. Lovely room overlooking courtyard (thought that might be a bit grim) but was very pleasant and probably quieter than overlooking the canal. Ideal position as it was easy to locate, right on the Grand Canal. Breakfast basic but adequate.

Venice Experience

Very clean and on an excellent location (around 100m from Doges Palace), though difficult to find at first as there is only a door on waterfront with a very small indication sign that can only be read close up. Initially walked past it several times until a close up door by door search led us to location and then inside. Forgot that a "Regular" Italian coffee is only about one teaspoonful! After that mistake, an "Americana" was requested for breakfast. Room had small kettle but staff forgot to provide tea or coffee, so had to ask on 3rd day! Found Venice very expensive, dining out was hit or miss, some small resturants very good, larger ones often a rip-off. Found resturant two bridges over towards Arsenal area that thought would be cheaper as it was away from centre, and cost 100EUROS for 2 Pizzas and a few drinks. The best resturant was "Luna Sentada" on Campo San Severo, Sestiere Castello, 5018 with really good quality, first class presentation and excellent personal attention from manager. Runner-up was only enjoyed for lunch, the "Poste Vecie" which is beside the Rialto Markets and is the oldest resturant in Venice.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Do the main Venice tourist things first thing, as crowds start before 9am and get worse, then after getting into Doges Palace, Basilica, or Tower, get out to Murano or even better, Burano. Burano is much more colourful, has Murano Glass at fraction of price, has lace for range of gifts and resturants are quarter of Venice prices. Return to Venice in evening when quieter. Regarding the 'Tribute to Music Inn' a canal View room would be much better than rear courtyard view, but I was not offered choice. The upgrade would be worth it as it would have fantastic outlook.

On the Lagoon in Venice

This residence hotel is located perfectly on the Venice lagoon with a spectacular vista. However, the bathroom had a low ceiling and the shower was a tub with a movable nozzle you could stand up with to rinse off with no barrier, so if you weren't careful you could spray the bathroom. The furnishings in the room needed some repair and looked a little tattered rather than antique or quaint. The bed was hard. Air conditioning was great as was the balcony for breakfast!! A good value for the money.

Small hotel

The hotel is too small and inconvenient when we consider room rate.
