The hotel is very nice. It's tucked away in a very private cove. The hotel is not overly large so there is no worry about packed spaces (beach, pool area, restaurant). The staff is very courteous and was prompt in addressing questions or issues. There is a nice little 'boutique' next door where you can purchase essentials at a very reasonable price. The good is that its private and the bad is also that it's private. You will need to rent a car to get anywhere and the closest place is Grand Case but other places are certainly only a short drive away. The pool was beautiful and the beach is nice and private although very small. Food was good for a hotel but choices were somewhat limited. If you are there longer than 2-3 days, definitely venture out for other cuisine. The bed is not very comfortable and you will need an adapter for hair straightener or curling iron. You won't need one for a cell phone or electronic devices. Be aware that staff function on 'island time' and also has a more 'euro' mentality. This is not a bad thing but just understand that nobody is going to rush to fill your glass if it's empty and you may have to wait a bit on service at the restaurant. St. Martin and the Radisson are beautiful and we will definitely be back.

Beautiful beach & great pool/grounds

Great hotel! A bit 'isolated' (renting a car is highly recommended). The beach is fantastic & so is the pool! The grounds were also beautiful & full of life: butterflies/birds & various creatures. Breakfast (included in hotel price) was good - wide selection. The restaurants however were not impressive (Le C was indeed better than Le Marche). Mini mart across the way with good prices.

Charming!

Beautiful beachfront property surrounded by mountains. Very charming architecture and décor. Rooms are well appointed and clean. This hotel is located in a quiet, secluded area. We rented a car for 2 days and it was fantastic, since we could go about the island sightseeing at our leisure, not depending on a taxi ride. Full breakfast buffet with omelet station was included in our rate. Service was very good. The infinity pool is magnificent. It has a beach entry, and an area of whirlpool (hot tub), both of which I loved. . The only thing that in my opinion could be improved is the fact that the only restaurant in the hotel available for dinner was C Le Restaurant (French fare). We dined twice at C, and the food was nice, but since we don't eat seafood or fish, the options in the menu were very limited for us. The other restaurant is Le Marche, but during our stay it only opened for dinner on Tuesdays (Italian nights#, since its schedule apparently is seasonal. However, there are 2 restaurants in the marina area in front of the hotel at walking distance #Victoria's and Calypso). We tried Calypso one night; pizza was ok, but nothing extraordinary. All in all, our stay at Radisson Blu was very enjoyable and a good value for money. I am definitely recommending this hotel.

Paradise in French St Martin

If I had to judge this hotel by our first 30 minutes in it, my review would not have been very good. Fortunately, all's well that ends well. After a difficult drive from the airport -- and, please be advised, if you rent a car and drive yourself as we did, you will be white-knuckled for the last two kilometers, which are extremely steep and winding -- the computers at the reception desk were down, and the clerk was unsure of which room to put us in. Turns out she guessed wrong -- we were sent to an occupied room, and we spent a good 15 minutes waiting, exhausted, in the hallway, until the bellman arrived with our bags, and then had to escort us back down to the desk to try again. Fortunately, the second attempt was successful, and the staff was extremely apologetic (although a free bottle of wine would have been nice!). Anyway, by next morning, the light of day revealed what a truly beautiful resort this is; the grounds are perfectly manicured and immaculate, and the rooms are luxuriously appointed -- although the shower has only a curious little half-door that makes it impossible to shower without soaking the floor, no matter how careful one is. The pool is huge and beautifully planted, and the wonderfully secluded beach of Anse Marcel is mere steps beyond it. Sumptuous-breakfasts are served in an open-air dining room, and are free for hotel guests. For comfort, convenience, and a beautiful setting, the Radisson Blu Anse Marcel can't be beat! Be aware, however, that electric power in the hotel is on the French standard of 220 volts through a two-round-pin plug, so you will need a converter and plug adapter to use appliances from home, or to charge your cell phone.

The hotel has its own restaurant right on the beach. However, the service was a bit disorganized when we ate there on our first night, and I thought the prices were a bit high, although I had no complaints about the food. Less than 15 minutes away by car is the quaint village of Grand Case, which boasts some of the best French restaurants on the island.
