At 14 acres and 6.6 million gallons of crystal clear seawater, Dolphin Cay is one of the largest man-made habitats for dolphins in the world and houses the Bahamas first rescue and rehabilitation facility. This facility and education center was created with the goal of enlightening visitors about the wonders of these remarkable ocean inhabitants. Guests have the opportunity to meet and interact with one of the world's most charismatic animals in an unparalleled encounter that is enriching for both guests and dolphins. Guests will experience an informative introduction to dolphin behavior, physiology and the importance of marine-life conservation before entering the water for an intimate experience. This is home for the original sixteen Hurricane Katrina dolphins. These dolphins were displaced from their previous home in Gulfport, Mississippi, after being swept to sea during the infamous hurricane's devastation of the Gulf States in 2005. They now reside happily at Dolphin Cay along with additional Dolphins and Sea Lions.
