Rustic cabin-style rooms

We thought location of Hatchet Resort might be too far from Grand Teton National Park and Jackson, WY. But location was great. Away from hustle and bustle of Jackson but just 35 miles away. Drive to Jackson and park is beautiful and scenic. Rooms resembled a cabin. Older establishment which could use some updating to beds, showers only (no tubs), no coffee pots, refrigerators, hair dryer or irons in rooms. Even with this said we would stay again. Staff were great and resort had cafe opened for breakfast and evening restaurant opened for dinner. Food reasonably priced and everything we ate delicious. Great cooks! Play area for children also. Not a perfect place but an enjoyable stay non the less!

Good but...

  • Oropia
  • Jul 11, 2011
It seemed we originally booked one room and not a cabin. So we slept the first night in the room. The day after a cabin was available for our next 2 nights. We accepted the extra charge and we have been told our luggages would be moved by the staff. Back to the hotel after midnight, we did not find our luggages in the cabin :( Front desk closed... One employee we met just told us she did not want to know anything about it since she was off at that time... We called a manager who has been really nice ! The management team offered gratefully the breakfast on the following morning. The cabin was really nice. BTW, Grand Tetan is 20min drive, no grocery around and Gas is cheaper in Jackson Hole.

Perfect for active outdoorsy types

Location in the heart of the Tetons was perfect for a base of operations for exploring the Park. Log cabins were comfortable, clean, well appointed and had a wonderful rustic character. (Probably would not suit those seeking luxury accomodations)

A Nice, Peaceful Place

The location is wonderful. You are no more than a few blocks from a beautiful lake, and a two places to eat. Also, the cabins are very quiet at night. To be sure, the cabins do not have a whole lot in the way of amenities, but then again, how often are you going to be there? Overall, I would definitely stay here again, provided that I brought a lot of mosquito repellent, since these bugs are not endangered at this location.
