A great stay

This is a basic motel that is intended mostly for stopovers. However, we stayed three nights, and used it is a launch-point for Mount Rushmore, and we were very satisfied. The staff were exceptional, ready to help at any time in any way that they could; for example, we needed to delay our stay by one day, and there was simply no problem in making that change. The room was small and basic, but clean with a faultless range of amenities; good cable channels, free wifi, fridge, microwave, tub and shower. While we have been a little surprised at how much more expensive motels are getting as we travel northward, this one was relatively economical.

Disappointed in my choice
- Mar 27, 2011
When we arrived, the hotel clerk did not have our [...]reservation. She took the information from my reservation that I had printed out from my [...]confirmation email. ([...]was very nice, and helpful). Later, I came down while she was on the phone with [...]and the rep couldn't find my reservation with my name. I had to give him the [...]record locator number and, magically, he found it. When we came down for breakfast in the morning, the desk clerk was sitting on the couch and didn't act very sociable- she continued to sit on the couch as we ate breakfast. The breakfast was pretty pitiful. There were make-your-own waffles, hard boiled eggs, english muffins, bread, and some terrible store bought mini-donuts and used-to-be-frozen mini blueberry muffins. Nothing was very appetizing, even the apple juice from the machine seemed to not taste like apple juice. The fruit (apples and oranges) looked like they had been there for days. The breakfast room itself felt dirty. There was a storage door next to the garbage can that has dirt and food on it, the garbage can was really dirty on the outside, and there was a bucket of water sitting in the dirty sink. They should not have ANY cleaning items in the eating area, it takes away a person's appetite- they should be separate. Also, the refrigerator that was in the eating area, had dirt and food all over the floor in front of it. Not a very clean place to eat breakfast. The floor of the bathtub had some sort of covering on it that looked like it had been ripped off at some point, but not totally ripped off. The shower did have surprisingly good pressure, though. Are there any hotel rooms that have enough outlets anymore?? We had one that the lamp and clock were plugged into, and one that the TV and another light were plugged into. Other than that, there was an outlet in the bathroom. How are you supposed to use/charge a computer or phone??? All in all, I don't think I'll be staying here again- no pool, pitiful breakfast, and outdated rooms. They did have an ice cream sandwich vending machine in the lobby, though- a definite plus!

A place to sleep

We stayed overnight on our way to Yellowstone. The first room we were assigned had not yet been cleaned, so we returned to reception and were immediately assigned another room.
A continental breakfast was included and was fresh, but the breakfast room was quite small - only a few tables increasing the risk of not having a table to sit at while you eat.

Overpriced & Shabby!
- aascole[@]
- Oct 13, 2010
Stayed here on the way home from a trip to Yellowstone. This was one of the most expensive hotels we stayed at (amazingly!), and was by far the worst. The blanket on the bed had holes in it, the sheets were stained and gray-looking, the floor lamp was broken, light bulbs were burned out, and walls were paper thin. We went to the front desk to report the burned out bulbs, and the clerk hands us a light bulb! I will never stay in a Super 8 again!

Nothing fancy, but perfect for one or two nights. VERY clean bedroom and bathroom and the king size bed was very comfortable. Next door to a Lounge, but wasn't too noisy.
