I would rate this hotel experience as average. The room was clean and comfortable. Upon check-in make sure you get someone with a lot of stars on their ribbon, otherwise you won't get good service. The pool is outside and closes during high winds. Also, breakfast was not included which is unusual given most other hotels in the area offer this.

beautiful new hotel

  • T Johnson
  • May 21, 2012
The hotel is brand new and it is truely elegant. We paid a very reasonable price in May but the prices do go up for the summer season. But, it is one of the prettiest hotels I have ever stayed in. The rooms are suites and have all the amenities one could ask for. The bath is super elegant but only has a shower which was fine for us. The shower is incredibly beautiful, you feel you are in a personal spa. I would reccomend this hotel for anyone, families or couples or single persons traveling. It was elegant and at the same time made the guest feel relaxed and comfortable. The bed was so beautiful and exceptionally comfortable. The pool was large and had a great hot tub also. I loved this hotel and was glad I was there in May because the rate we paid was a great value. In June the rates go up for the season but that is to be expected. I really loved it and will stay again.

The staff was friendly. We had to walk a short distance off site for the free breakfast but it had a good selection of food. Pool was shared with (and at) the next hotel. Was an adequate, nice hotel, but seemed somewhat expensive, as did all the hotels in Cody.

Had flight delay and was unable to arrive the day I was suppose to but arrived next day. Tried calling them but cell service was out. When arrive the day after I had planned on they had cancelled my reversation. Explained to them had reservations for two nights and had to pay with own American Express card for that night. Said any problems will have to be taken up with you on refund of room. So wound up paying twice for the room. No help from them sucks.

We were traveling through to Yellowstone. Wanted to spend a day in Cody with the kids. Misunderstood - THERE IS NO POOL HERE!!! Hot, cranky kids and no pool. Didn't read the fine print. Just your average everyday motel. Clean, fine and all. No luxury. EXPENSIVE but all you can get in Cody during the summer. Too bad you can't get something more for the money you have to pay.

I was on a cross country drive and Cody was one of my stops. Naturally on such a drive, I'm not looking for anything fancy, just something clean, comfortable, and near where I needed to be. This place was all three...It's right on the edge of Cody as you come in from the east, the room was clean, bed was nice, and the staff was very friendly. Solid value compared to other places in the Yellowstone area.

Not only was staying at The Irma a real treat, it was quite an experience. Our room had a window on the main street, which made it bright (even on a gloomy day). We actually ate 3 meals at The Irma. The service was excellent. and the staff was so accomodating and friendly. Great martinis as well. Would definetly stay here again.

I travel and stay at The Irma once a month. The staff have always been beyond friendly and helpful. The rooms are large, comfy, and nicely decorated of times gone by. The Cody is downtown within walking distance to shops, bars, and dining facilities. The walls are rather thin and you can hear footsteps squeaking down the 100+ year old hallways but other then that it's a great place to spend an enjoyable evening.

The room, pool, and staff were as good as advertised. Close to rodeo and the East gate of Yellowstone. Disappointed to find that AmericInn charged my credit card the full room rate, as they claimed to not have any prepaid rate agreement with Orbitz. They had no problem accepting my reservation but I think they should have mentioned their intent to charge us upon check-in instead of during rushed morning checkout. I am confident Orbitz will refund their charges, but irritated that I have to go through the hassle of seeking reimbursement.

It Served the Purpose

When I pulled into the parking lot, I thought that I may have to change my reservation because the place looked "beat up." But I said, "don't judge a book by its cover." So, I went to check in. The staff was business-like, not friendly at all--distant. When I got to the room, I was surprised how clean the room was. The only problem I had was with the carpet. It was old, beaten up, and its cleanness was questionable. The room was small but it had a TV and FREE Internet access, a clean bathroom, and a clean bed which are my essentials. I bring my own towels and sheets, soap, and alarm clock anyway. So, it served the purpose.

Very close to the Cody Nite Rodeo. Good, friendly front-desk service. Very comfortable king-sized bed. Clean room. Breakfast was cold, unappealing, no fruit. Wish the room had been $10 cheaper and no breakfast offered!

Mid level hotel but I had expected the rooms to be of a higher quality. The room was small and other than the bedding, which was nice, equal to a lower priced economy hotel chain.
