We enjoy this hotel as it is close to the university and our kids that are in medical school and the nursing program. Lots of great restaurants close by as well. The staff is very helpful and attentive.

The good, the bad and the really ugly

The cleanliness of the hotel was fine. When we asked for extra pillows, the pillows that came had a stain on the pillowcase, even though it looked clean, the stained pillowcase looked bad. That pillowcase should have been retired. There was a spider on my son's bed, and bugs on the walls. The headboard of the bed was busted, and some but not all of the pillows were lumpy. Also the pillows were very small.
We couldn't take our continental breakfast out of the dining room because of some silly rule.
There were some good things about the stay, but I would not stay there again.

The room is very comfort! It is quite easy for one to go to dream if he/she lies on the bed. One morething is that it will be better if it provides more types of foods for breakfast.

Lakeview with no lake view???

This is basically a resort (?) that faces the parking lot. True story: We checked in around 9:00 pm. I opened the curtains to the room, and saw the parking lot. I walked across the parking lot, into the lobby, and asked the desk clerk where the lake was. After all, this is named "Lakeview" Resort. His reply? (this is the honest to gosh truth...) "I'm not sure where the lake is, I'm not from around here!!!!" He did go on to tell me that he thought you could see the lake from the banquet room, and possibly the restaurant, but he wasn't sure. Indeed, there was an awesome view of the lake from the banquet room, and I sat there for an hour while using the free WI-FI, which was nice. The staff just wasn't very informed, and the Lakeview didn't live up to it's name.

I arrived late in the evening, but was greeted promptly and given good information. I wish they had a continental breakfast, but there is a restaurant and other places to eat nearby. The room was comfortable and well kept.

Great for a short trip

I stayed here while I was house-hunting in the area. The bed was very comfortable, the non-suite queen-bed room was small-ish but cozy and well-suited to my needs (I needed a home base from which I could organize my search), the wireless internet worked well, the room was clean, and it was fairly quiet. I also liked the location--just off the highway, so it's easy to get to, and on the edge of town so it's out of the hustle and bustle but within easy reach.
The only thing I think they might improve is the breakfast. Some days, it would be nice to have something hot, like scrambled eggs. And maybe an extra breakfast table--the most unpleasant moment of my stay occurred when I asked a fellow traveler if I might join him at his breakfast table (since there were no empty tables) and he said no. Thankfully, the folks at the other table kindly made room for me!

The bathroom need to be up dated. Having you arm hitting the tp holder is bothersome. It should be mounted under the counter. The room was clean and neat. The bed in 206 was great. With back trouble sleeping was pain free. The breakfast was one of the best we have found. The people behind the counter and though out the property were friendly. Should we be in this area again we would not hesitate to stay again. Location to the interstate a plus.

Overall this hotel suited our needs just fine - We really just needed a place to sleep and shower. The complimentary breakfast was very good. Downsides were the walls are thin and could hear the TVs in other rooms. Had a couple of loud obnoxious drunks in the hall at 4:30 in the morning - but not the fault of the hotel. I like the option of reusing the towels (to save water) but there were no towel bars to hang the towels.

This was a great get a way spot for couples looking for quaint accomodations within walking distance of shops and eateries. We stayed here while visiting our son at WVU and really enjoyed it. Breakfast was lousy as there weren't very many options and no flavored creamer.

We loved this hotel. Our suite was large, and they provided cribs for our children. Check in was quick, and the beds were very comfy. Had a great nights sleep, and they allowed us to bring the breakfast back into our room for the kids. It is a short drive from the highway. Great overnight for a family travelling to Florida/or back in our case :)

Everything was basically good. Clean room, clean bath and comfortable bed.
The only negative was that the sink in the bath leaked water from the cold tap every time the water was turned on.
Having a door between the bed area and the out room helped when 2 people want to watch different things on TV.

The rooms were fine. Clean. Nothing special. The person working the desk was really nice, but the hotel cleaners seemed a little eager get the room turned over in the morning. I would stay there again.

Couldn't get the elevator to go past the 7th floor and had to get management to help after 2 failures. $6 to park my own car not nice, especially when no other parking option. Room was very nice and comfortable. We will go back if we travel to Morgantown again.

Went down to see a concert at the coliseum. Very convenient. Room was great! Clean! We would definitely stay here again and recommend it to friends and family.

Our stay was very comfortable. However, we got our driving directions from Google maps, and were taken to a distant, desolate location that was NOT the hotel's correct location. The address was correctly listed, but the mapping was off. The hotel may want to follow up with Google to fix this.

We were going to a concert at WVU and needed a place to stay for one night. The reviews looked good for this place so we chose it. We were not disappointed. The hotel was very nice, the staff was friendly and the location is great. There are many restaurants close to the hotel, as well as shopping, and it is close to the university.

Not the worst place I ever stayed.

At best, I would say this was a "no frills" kind of place. The location is desolate, amid closed down shopping centers and with only a couple chain restaurants nearby that weren't yet closed.
My room smelled like someone had dumped canned spaghetti under one of the beds. The bedspreads looked like they had been in use for decades. A lampshade fell on my head, and the most convenient wall outlet didn't work. They didn't even provide Conditioner like most other Choice hotels do.
I looked at the "continental breakfast." It consisted of a loaf of white bread, and a case of muffins and danishes that had been sitting in the same place when I checked in.
But the place is pretty cheap, so I got what I paid for.

We came to Morgantown for the WVU Football game. The stadium is about a 5 minute drive from the Hotel. Immediatley upon arival to the hotel all we could smell was the musty cigarette smell. The staff at check in were very nice, and fast. I didnt sleep very well because the mattresses were old, smelly, and had burn holes on the comforter. Have stayed in many nicer places than this.
