The Pride of Super 8 Wausau is conveniently located off of Hwy 51/I-39 on Wausaus west side, within 5 mi of all major attractions and with many restaurants within walking distance. The property features a newly renovated and expanded breakfast area which offers Super Start Breakfast that includes Sausage gravy Biscuits and Hard boiled eggs. Also available at the property is a 24 hour indoor heated pool and whirlpool, an exercise room and guest laundry. While staying at the hotel enjoy such amenities as free High Speed Wireless Internet, coffee makers, 27 inch TVs with Cable and premium channels and refrigerators in all rooms.
Recently we have remodeled all our rooms with new pillow top mattress, new case goods and new tiles in all our bathrooms. Pets allowed with a fee of 10 USD per night.

Good Room, at a Good price

The room was a bit small, and the chair creaked. Overall I had a pleasant stay, I had hoped for a microwave, but I twenty four hour pool and gym to make up for the microwave. The staff were friendly and helpful.

Nice Hotel, Clean, good breakfast. I didn't realize just how close it was to the tollway. If you have a problem with noise, it might be a problem here.

Overall it was a very good place to stay.. Room was right off the lobby, very clean, very roomy, really a good, nay, excellent overall value.. Our ONLY complaint was the pillows.. Like gigantic Tootsie-Rolls with sleeves. Felt like our heads were 45 degrees off the mattress. They didn't give much. Yet, our companions in a room 3 doors down said theirs were excellent.. Guess we just got unlucky. But like I said above, it's a minor complaint because the rest was well worth the price.. I'd stay here again any time..

Very comfortable stay at the Plaza

I was in Wausau on business and had a comfortable room. I did notice a water leak under the toilet and I called the front desk and got an immediate knock on the door from [...]the maintenace guy. He fixed the leak in no time at all.Really good location.I didn't find a local dining guide or attractions book in the room.

Was in town on personal business. Was quiet, for the most part, had some kids partying the last night. I would stay again, if I were just looking for a place to sleep. No pool. Not much of a dining area. Just basic amenities for sleeping...not much more.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Wausau and we were very impressed how this hotel is run. Everybody was extraordinary friendly and helpful. The only downside is the breakfast. It was very busy and the area seemed to small for the number of people that were there. Also, I do not understand what big of a deal it would be to have real china and silverware available instead of styrofoam and plastic. It would be better for the environment and it is also nicer. We skipped breakfast the second day and went to a real restaurant.

The front desk ladies were wonderfully helpful and cheerful,made me feel like a friend not a customer. The room was well stocked and wonderfully clean and comfortable. Felt much more like a wonderful bedroom,not a hotel room. Definately looking forward to my next stay :)

I want to let anyone know that if you need to be in Wausau WI on business travel, that the staff at the Marriot (Wausau ) was wonderful!! Friendly,helpful and curtious. A group of people work there that just make you feel at home. I really found myself looking forward to the breakfast buffet, food was great and staff very warm and friendly. The hotel is currently going through a renovation and I can not wait to stay there on my return trip!!

A well priced hotel

The hotel was surprisingly nice. A decent bed and large room, complemented the pool area with heated pool and hot tub. There weren't any screaming, unmonitored kids in the pool area either which I'm sure helped. It is in a convenient location right off the highway near Rib Mountain too.

I've stayed at this hotel before because it is clean and it is cheap. The staff are pleasant. The beds were comfortable, and the room was spacious. We stayed in a room on the second floor this time and probably will avoid that in the future--there is no elevator in this hotel. Taking our luggage up and down the very steep long stairway was not fun.

Everything was great - clean room, comfortable, cool courtyard, nice pool, but some kind of continental breakvast would vastly improve the experience.

I was with a large group of 20somethings that were going snowboarding, and the staff was very considerate. They would notify us of complaints from other guests, but that was really a minimum since they kept us together and we took up almost an entire lower wing of the hotel. They let us drink in the hot tub, conference center, etc. If you have a large group of people, this place is great. Big hot tub, friendly bar and its ridiculously close to granite peak.
NO breakfast buffet however :(
