A word of warning, if you book through Orbitz, you will get a little bill slipped under your door in the morning for a "campus fee" and additional taxes. It is about $16 extra per night that Orbitz does not charge. Otherwise, great restaurants and atmosphere. Not really withing walking distance of downtown Lake Geneva, but just a short drive. Visit the Spa and restaurants if you have the $$, they are great!

We arrived late, like midnight, after a late arrival at O'Hare. So we didn't get to enjoy the hotel amenities. Even missed the breakfast which was over at 9 am. Quiet, comfortable, staff pleasant. They were not very busy so maybe they could have given us a lakeside room. Lake Geneva is a well kept, quality city to visit and enjoy.

Children and adults enjoyed the waterpark. We used every single activity. We go there every year for the Christmas In the Country Illumination ceremony at adjacent Grand Geneva. The trolly takes us back and forth. Accomodations were spacious and we even had enough room for four families to gather in our room for dinner. Wonderful weekend!

The waterpark was awesome. Great getaway if you have small children that you don't want in the sun all day. Problem with the weekend, had a bunch of a strange group, obviously sharing alcohol out of a water cooler, not purchased from the hotel, got very roudy at night, did not stop until 4:00am. Was hoping the hotel would do more for my and my family's lack of sleep, rather than say "we know they were trouble, security called a lot, we made them sign waivers" Also, kind of ticked that the hotel ADDED fees, after I paid [...]. [...]Overall, I think the roudiness was a fluke, great room, great fun, and fairly good room service food! We'll go again

The outside leaves something to be desired!! No elevators or air conditioning in the stairwells. The Suite Room was "gorgeous", though!! A round, king-size bed with mirrors behind/above the bed & a marble ledge surrounded the bed, BUT the bed was like quick sand when you sat onto it!! DEFINITELY need new mattress! Only 1 of each size towel/person, 1 box kleenex & balcony w/o chairs!

SCARY PLACE, BUT DECENT STAY

  • Kephas
  • Jul 12, 2011
When we got there no one was there. We were the only ones there on the parking lot. The front door was broken and the car port looked like it was getting ready to break. Anyways the hotel is old and is needing an update. We requested a non-smoking room, but I'm not quite sure if they have any. So here are the pros and cons. (CONS)I'll start with the cons since this one is more weighted. Needs update Cigarette smell Rough towels No chain lock or deadbolt Too much chlorine in the pool Broken hot tub Horrible Wireless internet service in room (PROS) Price is decent Close to the lake Has a pool Awesome AC Unit Awesome water pressure Overall the stay was okay except my fiancee got a rash, I'm guessing it's from the combination of cheap laundry detergent/fabric softener and the horrible cigarette smell. If it weren't for that and the price was a little lower I would have given it 4 stars.

Nice rooms

We weren't expecting much for a chain hotel, but it seems like a newer place with nice sized rooms. It's down the street a bit from where it shows on the map, so it's just under a mile to town. However, Main St is pretty busy and there are no sidewalks, so we took a cab rather than walking. We were planning on using the sleeper sofa since we had 4 people, but it had no sheets or anything. It was already really late, so we didn't feel like dealing with it. Check w/ the desk when you check in to see how you get bedding for the couch.

I WAS THERE AS I WAS RELOCATING TO WISCONSIN FOR EMPLOYMENT. LITTLE PRICEY ESPECIALLY FOR A THREE WEEK STAY. THERE IS ACCESS TO A COMPUTER HOWEVER IF THAT IS NEEDED IN CONJUCTION WITH A TELEPHONE THERE IS NONE. PHONE CALLS DROP CONTINUELLY ON CELL PHONES BECAUSE THE SERVICE IS NOT GOOD INSIDE THE HOTEL. IT IS NOT ACCOMODATING TO HAVE TO GO OUTSIDE TO USE YOUR CELL PHONE. ALSO 80 ROOMS AND ONE COMPUTER IS NOT ENOUGH. LAUNDRY SERVICE IS LIMITED TO 8AM-10PMM WORKING 11PM - 7AM SCHEDULE WAS NOT CONVENIENT FOR ME ALONG WITH THE FACT THAT THEY REQUIRE QUARTERS TO OPERATE AND ARE NOT ALWAYS READILY AVAILABLE. THERE HAS TO BE A BETTER WAY THAN SWIPE CARDS. HAD TO HAVE MINE REPLACED AT LEAST 8 TIMES THROUGHOUT MY STAY. MUSIC IN THE ROOM IS LIMITED TO AN ALARM/CLOCK/RADIO THAT PRODUCES A SOUND THATB HAS MUCH TO BE DESIRED FOR THE PRICE.

Some older parts of hotel could use updating like the elevators, other then that the room and grounds were tops. We will be back for another relaxing trip.

We just needed a room to flop in outside of Lake Geneva- although this hotel is nice, it's situated far enough out of town you would think the prices wouldn't so high. For $180 I expect little touches; a full size ironing board and extra pillows. I was a little disappointed that I wasn't able to email their contacts listed on their website to request a lake front view seeing how that was one of the reasons we chose this hotel. We didn't get to experience the pool because of our schedule but we did take the steep drive down to the lake that was on the map. I think it's lake Como. On the map it looks walkable, but the front desk person said it was about a mile down. A mile is not a long walk, but when you think you're on the lake, you wouldn't expect that. I would recommend this hotel becuase it's clean and has updated rooms. I cannot commment on the ammenities.

The hotel was beautfuil, can't beat the location. The staff was wonderful and very helpful. My only complaint was that our room was by the street and we got alot of street noise late at night. We also were right by the post office and 5:30am Sat morning the post office trucks woke us up. The mattress was also very uncomforable. So, except for the lack of sleep we loved the hotel and will stay there again. we will request a room on the other side of the hotel.

Good location and value. One block off Main Street shopping and an easy walk to the lake. Full kitchen in unit would be good for extended stay. Full size jacuzzi tub in bathroom. Staff was very friendly and had plenty of suggestions for dining within walking distance. Small indoor pool and hot tub.
