Nice Hotel for Business Travel

Stayed here becasue it was convenient to I-5 and I needed to be in Olympia the next day. Staff was very pleasant and I was checked in within 5 minutes of my arrival. Room was clean and had a nice view of Tacoma. Breakfast was good but a little cold for ham and sausages. Overall it was a very nice place to stay and very quiet though near a train track. I would recommend this hotel and would stay here again.

Only paid $65 for the room and it came with a very good buffet breakfast - eggs, sausage, potatoes, fresh fruit, cereal, pastries, juice, and more. Great deal!!

A Perfect Stay

The Inn is in the perfect location, on the water with views of the sound. Our view was outstanding and each room has a view of the water. This place is easy access off the freeway, but is in the middle of quiet and in a natural setting. We watched the ships, boats and birds in the area. We were within a couple of minutes of the downtown museums. The Inn is older but very clean and has an updated interior.
We arrived on a Tuesday and enjoyed the complimentary beer, wine and snacks. The breakfast was generous and included hot items. Fruit, coffee and tea were always available in the lobby.
Walking along the pier and sidewalk was a quiet and beautiful experience. Within walking distance were many waterfront restaurants. We went to an early dinner and enjoyed a 3 course seafood meal for a very good price.
The Inn staff was very friendly and helpful. This place is a 10 and we are going back. A perfect get-away

Great for Tacoma museum district and glass works

We were visiting Tacoma to see the Art Museum and Glass Museum. The hotel theme matched our visit perfectly. The artwork on each of the hotel floors is amazing - and worth checking out. The glass theme and decor scheme is very contemporary, and the other art work on display makes the hotel unique as a gallery.
All staff were very pleasant and helpful, though the service in the "Bite" restaurant could have been a bit more synchronised at breakfast. We ate dinner there too - and the food was very good at both meals. This was a relief as there did not appear to be many alternative places to eat in the vicinity.
The hotel is well located for the museum district and the convention centre. However, Tacoma seems to lack a convenient shopping area in the vicinity, so go elsewhere for retail therapy.
Room was quiet with no noise from other guests. So great for a restful night, e.g before leaving from SEATAC airport.

We have stayed here before and had a great stay. That being said this time when I booked the room the rate said it included free wifi and a food coupon, neither of which were offered or covered during our stay. Plus we had to pay to to park in their parking lot...bull! It's a nice place, but I'll save up before I stay there again because little is included except an overpriced bed.

Wonderful Birthday getaway

I stayed at the Red Lion Tacoma for a birthday night just to get away and see friends in the area.
I found the staff to be very friendly, (they even put together a little birthday bag of goodies for me) the room was nice and clean which is huge for me. I am very picky! One thing I loved about the beds is that they do not have dirty old bedspreads on them like some places. So you know they are clean. I slept like a baby. Enjoyed a waffle from their breakfast for breakfast, coffee in my room and you have to love the noon checkout time. I relaxed until the last minute!! I will go back for sure.

We were there for an event at the Tacoma Dome. The accommodations were very nice, the room was spacious and the Hotel lobby was inviting. The beds were very comfortable. The rest room had a massage head for the shower, the refrigerator was larger than many hotels.

Motel is located in the center of the Port of Tacoma. Very few restaurants or stores near by. Staff was not very helpful or friendly, when we arrived at about 6:00 PM we had to wait for a half an hour for our room to be cleaned. There isn't a restaurant near by. Great place for a trucker, location is great, on the freeway, and not that far from Tacoma downtown area, and in the middle of the Port area. The motel did have free wifi and a desk in the room for a computer, the room size was adequate, with room for a couch. One good thing was there was a casino about 5 miles down the street, both ways.

The hotel is pretty decent. It wasn't anything super special but it wasn't bad either. It was a good place to sleep and clean up, but not a place to hang out around. The walls can be thin and sometimes you can hear what's going on next door so that was a negative and the front desk people really are not that friendly. But the hotel itself was pretty nice.

This motel is perfect for someone who just wants an inexpensive place to stay while doing something else in the area. We had a double queen room. The high speed internet was nice. The room is small, fairly clean, area was quiet. We were in Tacoma for State Wrestling Tournament and spent most of our time at the Tacoma Dome just returned to room to shower and sleep. Mapquest directs you to this motel in a round about way. Just take the Bridgeport Way exit and follow Bridgeport Way to Gravelly Lake Drive turn Left, then right on Motor Avenue and into motel parking lot. You can see the motel as soon as you turn onto Gravelly Lake Drive. It isn't as far off the beaten path as it looks.

Great location acoss Tacoma Mall and lots of places to eat in the area. Easy to get to from the freeway. This is a no frills hotel which was perfect for me, just needed a place to sleep and shower. Bring your own toiletries and hair dryer.

really a one-star hotel. Hotel is on frontage street half a mile or so from the freeway exit. No restaurant, coffee shop, etc., are nearby. Room was ok. Fortunately the weather was good. There was daylight visible through space beneath the exterior door. TV only had about 10 channels, mostly sports. I rented two rooms. Reception in one room was horrible. Every channel full of snow. You get what you pay for...

Great over all experience. Heated pool/hot tub clean. Staff very friendly/helpful. Would stay again. Security at night.

Located in Tacoma right off I-5. The hotel has an indoor swimming pool, excercise room, free hi-speed internet, and is walking distance to many restaurants. The hotel is near Ft. Lewis, McChord Airforce Base, the Tacoma Dome, and 22 miles from Sea-Tac Airport. We offer a hot breakfast serving biscuits and gravy everyday and rotating bacon and scrambled eggs with sausage and egg patties for sandwiches. Pet Accomodations:25 USD per pet pet day, 2 pets per room limit, Max size 40 lbs. Restricted to 1st floor rooms only.

The Hotel was clean and the staff was very friendly and helpful. Helped us with directions and recommendations. Very good front desk staff.

Free continental breakfast. Some rooms feature coffee makers, refrigerators and microwaves. Close to numerous restaurants. Tacoma Mall is within walking distance. Fort Lewis is four miles away.

I WAS THERE JUST TO GET AWAY FOR A NIGHT. IT IS A LITTLE RUN DOWN MOTEL, BUT OK FOR THE PRICE. MY ROOM WAS MARKED NON-SMOKING, BUT THERE WERE BURN MARKS ON THE BLANKET. THEIR AD SAID BREAKFAST, BUT WHEN YOU GOT THERE THE SIGN ON THE DOOR SAID NONE. GOOD THING I WAS NOT HUNGRY....LOL. NOT A MOTEL FOR ANYONE WHO CAN NOT ROUGH IT FOR A NIGHT.

The service was good, and the location was decent. The room was average. This hotel was pretty basic; there weren't any outstanding qualities. The only negative thing I have to say about the hotel is that in our room there were large air bubbles under the floor which were a bit startling to step on.
