Nice hotel in a great location

  • MarnaB
  • Dec 31, 2012
Great location if you want easy walking distance to Pike Place Market, mass transit, shopping, eating, museums and the symphony. The monorail is a couple of blocks away, so easy access to the Space needle and the Pacific Science Center. Very good staff, valet parking is $42/day and they send you out your last day with cookies and milk. Each room has it's own little keurig. In this day and age, it seems absurd that such a nice hotel would charge for wireless internet access, we just walked down one of the Starbuck's (there is one on every other block).

I checked out several hotels in preparation for our trip to Seattle. I finally chose the Red Lion based on location, price and the great reviews it received. We were not disappointed! The staff was friendly and helpful the monorail was just down the street to go to the Space Needle. The Fish Market was just a few blocks away also! Definitely alot better than paying those hefty prices alot of the other hotels were asking for!

Large room, great location

  • Sleepy in Seattle
  • Dec 22, 2012
We live in Seattle, but wanted to get a hotel downtown for the night of an office holiday party. The location was perfect and we were pleasantly surprised by the large size of the room. Others have commented on city noise, but we did not notice anything (we were on an upper floor). The bathroom is tiny, but placement of shelves and hooks make good use of the space. We found a great online deal and so it turned out to be a perfect choice for the night, but had we paid the standard rate it might have been a little overpriced for us. Breakfast at Lola the next morning was incredible (get the donuts)!

Perfect location with a quick walk to space needle, pikes place market/pier and downtown shopping and convention center. There are plenty of restaurants and bars nearby and even a grocery store and a cinema. There is a restaurant in the lobby but we didn't eat there. The room was very nice and clean with inviting and cooling romantic blue hues. The bathroom was actually perfect With a big tub for a hot bath and a nice frosted subdued lighting. The staff was friendly and very helpful pointing out interesting attractions and a great tip for dinner. I would definitely stay at Hotel Andra again.

Nice hotel and staff. Centrally located. We had. Top floor one bedroom suite with floor to ceiling windows do great light and skyline views. Nice large bathroom . The living room had a love seat, dek and chair. It wasn't large. Room service dinner was below average. I had salmon, which was dry and tasteless. My daughter had fried chicken, which she thought was only so-so. Seattle has great restaurants so no need to eat meciocre hotel food. Otherwise, we enjoyed our stay.

They were able to check us in early, our room was clean and fresh, the shower stayed warm for all four roommates, and the location was unbeatable. We were 5 minutes away from the Cheesecake Factory, Blue C Sushi, and a plethora of shopping - which we did all of. The only cons I found were internet was not free, and no fridge to put our delicious cheesecake left-overs in! We made do with the nearby ice machine. ;) There are lots of good downtown Seattle hotels, and this one is in my top 5.

Style Downtown Can't Be Beat

  • profgjay
  • Aug 27, 2012
The W, as you would expect, offers a stylish alternative to other downtown hotels. The all-new building features relatively large rooms with comfortable window-seat couches overlooking the city or, if you are up high, the water and mountains. The location is an easy walk to all the main tourist areas and the main bus and raillinks (we didn't rent a car during our stay, and found taxis an easy option we we got tired of walking). The W is in the financial district, so you are free of the street people and tourist madness closer to Pike Place.

We stayed there to attend a couple of Mariner games. It was a great location, just outside of the park. The room was large and very clean. Enjoyed the breakfast at the hotel restaurant. Lots of good restaurants close by to the hotel. Close enough to walk downtown and they do run a free shuttle to downtown also.

Rather than having to decide who would be the designated driver, the wife & I booked a room at the Silver Cloud Stadium. This hotel was closer to our seats than our car would be had we parked in the Safeco parking lot. The hotel, and our room, were very nice and very clean. We chose a Safeco view room and it was awesome! We could see our seats in the Hit-It-Here Cafe from our hotel room. We were able to watch all the hustle & bustle of people lining up before the games. Being able to stumble across the street to our bed was worth its weight in gold.

Location is perfect if you want to walk to nearby attractions. We were able to visit the nearby Olympic Sculpture Park, Seattle Aquarium, ferris wheel, Pike's Place Market, Space Needle and EMP Museum all in one day because of the central location of the hotel. The room is nothing to write home about, clean and comfortable, but nothing amazing. What you pay for is the location. One negative: the room we had was above the pool and looked out on an elevated walkway. This meant we had to leave the curtains closed all the time since anyone on the walkway had a full view into the room.

The Sorrento is a charming boutique hotel. The service is great and you can enjoy some beautiful works of art throughout the hotel and in the lovely Fireside Room The location is good, but take advantage of their free taxi service to local downtown shopping! The rooms are comfy and prove why they have their bedding for sale. Enjoy!

We enjoyed the Hotel very much. My negative is the distance from downtown as compared to other similarly priced hotels. Staff was very courteous and provided valuable information. Cost of valet parking at 39 dollars per day was a bit high. Our room was on the warm side and air conditioner (dial from hot to cold) did not work well. We cooled the room down by opening the window. Most of our activities were downtown all the way to the Pike Place Market.

Such a perfect hotel, half a block from Pikes Place Market. The lobby blended modern design with local native American art. So many eating spots, so little time. Loved the patio on the 5th floor, overlooked the bay, it doesn't really matter if your room faces the water.

We were able to experience Pike's Market, St. James the Apostle Cathedral, and many wonderful restaurants on foot from this ideal location. The quick link train brought us from the airport for a nominal fee and delivered us only two blocks from the hotel. Taxis were readily available from this location. The hotel staff were friendly and knowledgeable. We could view the harbor and our cruise ship from the patio deck, an ideal spot to enjoy fabulous Seattle coffee. The rooms were spacious, immaculately maintained, and the bed and pillows extremely comfortable. The public restrooms were generously appointed with fine soaps and lotions. I loved this Hotel and plan to make it my regular stay anytime I travel to Seattle. It was perfect in every way, shape and form.

Great Location, Average Amenities

  • Galaxia64
  • Dec 24, 2012
Mom and I were visiting Seattle for the first time and wanted to stay downtown. This hotel was in a really great location and only 10 min walk from Pikes Peak Market and 2 blocks from the Link to the airport. The amenities are average. The bed was not particularly soft and only 2 pillows were given. Shampoo was a little watery. They did include a shower cap which was helpful. I wish the rooms had a bit better lighting as it was pretty dim. Cable does not include as many channels as usual. What kind of annoyed me was that they told us blatantly that we had to vacate at 11 pm instead of the usual 1 pm the next day because they had an large influx of guests coming to watch the football game. However the doorman was very pleasant in helping us with our luggage. Overall, it's an ok place to sleep. We mostly picked it for its location.

My room was next to the elevator - despite wearing earplugs and playing a hastily downloaded white noise app on my iPhone, I could still hear the elevator and the neighbors' intimate relations. The room was nice with a cute bathroom and yummy verbena soap. It was in a great location within walking distance from the train station and shopping.
