What travelers to Downtown are saying

We thoroughly enjoyed Seattle, especially Pike Place Market, CenturyLink Field, Safeco Field, the new Starbucks Roastery, and the Washington Park Arboretum and Japanese Garden. We visited during May and the weather was perfect: temperatures in the 70s, sunshine, and no rain whatsoever. If you don't enjoy crowds, be sure to visit Pike Place Market in the morning. The stalls at the Market were outstanding, and the flower vendors in particular had very impressive displays. While there is much to do and most will enjoy the city, do be aware of some issues beforehand. Smoking is very common throughout downtown, so be prepared to walk past at least one person smoking every block. There is also a large homeless population in downtown Seattle, but only a handful of people were aggressive. If you plan to hit several parts of the city during any given day, be sure to take some form of transportation as the city is quite hilly and can be very tiring if you attempt to walk everywhere.

We stayed for 5 days and only saw rain in the morning of the first. Loved the zoo, has very modern enclosures and I would rank it along the same as the L.A. zoo though the animals are less exotic. Pikes market was as expected, though I found some other shops that I had missed from before. This being my third trip I still find new places in downtown. Ludi's was a restaurant that serves filipino breakfast which was very good (garlic fried rice with your eggs). For us April was still chilly , we come from Southern California so had to supplement our clothing with some gloves and hats which were easy to find at target and TJ max. The columbus building was worth the visit and cheaper then the needle plus you get a better view of the area including the mountains if the clouds are high.

What people say is true: it rains all the time in Seattle. We stayed 3 days and 3 nights, and it rained for two of those days. If you are here for the touristy things, definitely look into the City Pass. We used all the things in the City Pass (Space Needle, Aquarium, EMP Museum, and the Pacific Science Center). It was well worth it and we didn't have to try and figure out too many additional places to visit. The City Pass just kind of guided us through our first visit to Seattle. Downtown is very easy to navigate and public transit seems to be pretty good. Weather was a bit chilly in March, but not unbearable. Still a fun city to visit! I look forward to exploring more outside of Downtown next time.
