Vermont Hotels
Visitors to Vermont generally come looking for the relaxing and romantic atmosphere provided by a state that has over 80% of its area wooded. Tree-lined drives, covered bridges, and pastures of cattle provide visitors to the many hotels in Vermont a relaxing outlook on life. From the University of Vermont in the Lake Champlain Valley to the Southern Vermont region, residents are knowledgeable, outgoing, and love to show off the beauty of their state. Vermont is known for its maple syrup and Vermont Cheddar being a selling point in grocery stores across the country.
Neighborhoods
The capital of Vermont is Montpelier, the smallest state capital in the United States. It has an abundance of activity under its sleepy appearance. Local parks have outdoor activities galore, including cross-country skiing, mountain biking, waterfront rafting, and canoeing. Galleries and museums provide cultural outlets and of course there is the gold-domed State House to visit. Slightly to the northwest of Montpelier is Burlington, home of the University of Vermont and Lake Champlain, with a vibrant college sports scene. Visitors staying in Vermont hotels in southern part can attend the "Strolling of the Heifers Parade and Festival" in Battleboro for four days in early June. Farmers bedeck their cows with flowers and walk them up and down Main Street to show off their beauty; safer than Pamploma's running of the bulls, but inspiring nonetheless. Most famously, there is skiing at resorts in areas around the state. Vermont hotels in all the areas run vary from four-star luxury hotels like Stowe Mountain Lodge to smaller, budget places near the capital or the university, such as the Econo Lodge Montpelier. No matter what accommodations a visitor to Vermont hotels chooses, the area is sure to provide plenty to do and enjoy.
