Half hour to Killington... Restaurants in the area...
It's my 2nd time there, rooms are OK for it's price and it has free wifi and free breakfast in the morning (waffle, sausages, eggs, juice, cereal, etc).

Located in the heart of the Green Mountains, Red Roof Rutland is just 15 miles from Killington Ski Mountain and 20 miles from Okemo Ski Area! Castleton College is 10 miles from the hotel, and Middlebury College and Middlebury Hospital are both a bit over 1/2 hour away. Red Roof Rutland is also within walking distance of restaurants and shopping.

Parking lot in need of overhaul. Hallways had odor. Side doors to building didn't work 2 of the days I stayed there. Made for a long hike around the hotel. Staff member did give a good tip for a restaurant.

Traveled to Rutland for an interview and stayed in town at the Red Roof Inn. Staff were somewhat helpful to those who travel from out of town. Rooms were not bad but could use some updating.

The hotel was exactly what we were looking for. It is an inexpensive clean and friendly place to stay. The room was larger than I expected. I was surprised in a positive way by the Best Western!

The Inn was suitable for me, it was clean and fairly well maintained, access to internet no problems,(work)Only down fall was all smoking rooms seemed to be for long stays( State provided)
Surronding are was well kept and hospitable, Better than $85 night, not a yuppie just a working man needing a bed. Would recommend to any traveler for work ,

The staff was very friendly. The hotel was just the basics. It seemed a bit in need of an update-our screen fell out of the window, so our choice was close the window or have mosquitos in the room with us. Continental breakfast was donuts, juice, coffee, and bananas. It was convenient to the main road so its location was a bonus.

The greeting was very unusually low and disinterested. I liked that they were training a special needs person. The hostess was very friendly and helpful.
Not having a recipt is a huge problem for me just now. They couldn't give it at the hotel and I paid an upgrade fee of $15 for my brother to stay with me . There was a huge leak on the floor also.

Place is a good deal for the price. It's clean. The staff is nice & responsive. I have no complaints. This is not a fancy hotel - there is no HDTV or on-demand movie ordering, but the room was clean, the heat worked & the sheets were clean.

I stayed in this hotel b/c of the reputation the Hampton Inns have and I wasn't disappointed. The staff was super friendly and professional. The room as well as the hotel were clean. The location was perfect as it had shopping and restaurants all within walking distance. I would stay here again - no doubt about it!

We were visiting family in the area and had our two children and our niece. The kids had a blast in the heated pool. The room was very clean and up to date. The continental breakfast was like being at a restaurant, there was enough choices for all five of us to enjoy. The hotel was located next to many attractions on the main street of Rutland. We will be returning to the Hampton Inn the next time we need to stay in Rutland.

I would never stay there again. Our room was near the smoking section of the hotel and the whole hallway smelled so bad we had to hold our noses to get into our room. The pool and jacuzzi were old and dirty. The lobby was insanely loud and crowded with unruly kids and teens. [...] In the future, I will ALWAYS try to get a room near to Killington which is why we went there in the first place.

We arrived a few hours early and we were forced to wait until 2 PM for check in. The workers were rude to us on the phone when we asked for an earlier check in time. Hot water seemed to be a luxury in this hotel. Considering that it was -4F - 13F outside, you'd naturally want to take a hot shower in the morning and before bedtime. The water was barely warm.
The sink in the bathroom was broken and only had cold water. There were so many other $40/ night motels that have better service and amenities.
The hot tubs they claim to have were filthy and only 1 out of the 2 they had were in service. The pool area wreaked like mildew.
I will never stay at the Holiday Inn Rutland, VT again.

Description
You will enjoy the convenience of walking or skiing to the slopes. These fully furnished condominiums include a full kitchen, private or common washer and dryer, TV/VCR and stereo and most have a fireplace. Accommodations range from studios to three bedroom condominiums, some with elevator service, located in a village setting. Free access to the Pico Sports Center with a 75-foot indoor pool, hot tub, weight and cardiovascular equipment and sauna is included.
In the winter, ride the free all-day slope shuttle to explore the other six mountains of Killington. In the summer, the Pico Adventure Center features alpine slides, mini-golf, climbing wall and power jump. Non-smoking accommodations are available.
All condominiums include a kitchen with full size appliances and essential cooking utensils, a vacuum, free local telephone service, cable TV and VCR. Most accommodations have a balcony or patio and fireplace. Washers and dryers are available either in the condominiums or in a central location.
Due to its mountain location, resulting in cool breezes, Pico Resort Hotel and Condominiums is not air-conditioned. Bath towels, wash cloths, bath mat(s), hand soap, bath soap, shampoo/conditioner, toilet tissue, facial tissues, paper towels, garbage bags, dishwashing soaps, dish towels, laundry detergent and coffee filters are provided. A towel change, trash removal or restocking of supplies as requested are provided daily for all stays under 30 days.
Walking or skiing to the slopes is offered when the mountain is operational.
Security Deposit required at check in: Studio $100, 1 bedroom $200, 2&3 bedrooms $300. If there is no damage: Cash deposit returned by check 2 wks after departure; credit card authorization released 3-14 days after departure; debit cards are not recommended

It was a great weekend. Everything was clean and we had lots of room to move around. The deck was also nice in the summer. You also have to remember to check-in at the main lodge in the summer.

The location was perfect, the room was clean and well appointed. Access to the sports center was nice. The condo was difficult to find because there wasn't a street sign and there weren't any signs with the condo name. The check-in process was also difficult.

Cheap, clean and friendly

We stayed here for one night during a snowboarding weekend in December. The rate was very low, the staff was friendly, and the room was clean. It was pretty bare bones (although there was a mini fridge and free wifi) and the decor was a little weird, but we were just looking for a place to sleep so whatever. The blankets were a little thin, but we had control of the heat and it cranked out nicely so there was no problems there.

The room was small and so was the bathroom, but the service was awesome and the lady at the counter was terrific. For the money it was as we expected and if we needed to stay again it would not be a problem.
