It is really good that stay at Best Western Inn. The room is rather big which provide a good place to enjoy ourselves. And another important factor here is the high internet.

Funeral trip but good well rested

  • Haleys
  • Mar 22, 2011
Well we were there for a Funeral so it wasn't for fun and leisure. So what we needed was a place that was comfortable for the whole family of 4, good night sleep. The room was clean, bed comfortable, bathroom/shower was great (showers are a big deal to me)my only complaint was I could not control the temperature in my room and I was very hot in the evening. I don't know if this was because we were near the laundry room or not. What was great was the continental Breakfast one of the best I have seen since North Carolina, it started our day off great considering it was going to be emotionally draining. Also I was full of lint and the reception let me use a link remover which made me feel better. Those two things alone made me give them a 4 rating verses a 3....but room temp would have been nice.

Very friendly owners and excellent value. The hotel was very clean. Please keep in mind that the hotel has probably not changed much in the last 40 years (a few updates), but do not let that deter you from staying here. This hotel was very clean (more so than some 5 star hotels I have stayed in), the owners were very accommodating.

We were in Bennington for Family Weekend at Bennington College. It smelled a little musty when we arrived, but once we opened a window it wasn't bad. It was a little like staying at grandma's house - old fashioned but very clean. The floors were also very squeeky! The staff was very nice, though, and you can't beat that view of the Green Mountains.

We visited the Robert Frost home just ten minutes from the Hampton Inn, and then drove north to Rutland. Another day we drove into New York and another day we drove across Vermont and into New Hampshire and Massachusetts. Bennington is central to everything. Three covered bridges are close to the Inn.

Mixed Opinion

The Hotel has two types of rooms. One is cottage and the other is standard. Cottage rooms are filthy with a 1940's TV and no proper heating system but the standard rooms have very good view, they are very clean, good heat, good bath, overall I would recommend you to call them and ask them for the pond side rooms (which are the standard rooms). The Staff is very good and helpful.

The Lodge was a pit stop on our way to the vacation home. It was clean but the the futon could have been more comfortable. The air conditioner wasn't working real well but it did okay to help with the humidity. The pond was beautiful but couldn't go near it because there was so much goose poop we couldn't avoid walking in it so we didn't. The staff was friendly. The view was awesome! Sunset there was majestic!

Welcome to the Kirkside Motor Lodge, a uniquely furnished and individually decorated facility with twenty-five rooms, many with New England country style antiques and reproductions. We are located in Bennington, Vermont at the foot of the majestic Green Mountains, adjacent to the nineteenth century, Gothic-style Saint Frances de Sales church. We continue to be in the forefront of all the moderately priced hotels and motels in the area. The prudent traveler will find, after comparisons with corporate and large franchise hotels, our room rates are 15PCT to 40PCT lower. Not being a franchise facility, the owners live on the property and deliver a personal touch that is not possible from an indifferent general manager of a large cookie-cutter franchise hotel.
