I loved the location and the comfort the hotel offered. The staff was superb as well. The only problem I had was the noise from the air conditioner, that was a littel to loud, but over all the stay was great!!

The Wingate by Wyndham was a very nice motel for a quick weekend stay. The staff was exceptionally friendly and helpful and the location made it very easy to get to the airport. The only complaint was that there was no exhaust fan in the bathroom. The mirrors were verysteamy after a shower and it took a few minutes for them to clear off. Other than that one small inconvenience, it was great.

Studio suite is a Very Small room

I went to attend an event at the Beach. We stayed in the B suite that is a queen studio. The room was very tight in comparison to other queen room in neighboring hotels. I had called the hotel prior to arriving to inquire about the unit and was told that it was a queen with a sofabed and Kitchenette. The reality was that the queen bed and a small table with 2 chairs took up almost the entire floor space and there was no sofa. Was disappointed when I saw the size of the room given the rate paid in comparison to other hotels in the area. The plus was the kitchenette which consisted of microwave, refrigerator, sink, toaster and coffeemaker w/cups& plates for service of 2. I cannot speak to the A unit because I did not have a chance to view one. The concierge called several times to try to get us to a timeshare presentation. Can't blame them, they were trying to do their job. The staff was very pleasant and professional.

Very clean hotel. Nice, responsive staff. You will have to pay an additional $8 a day for parking in the hotel's garage. Great location. Pancake house and several pizza places in the same block. One of the three pools had shallow wading areas which was great for my 2 year old.

The hotel was clean and neat, nice courtyard setting. Like others stated, the sheets on pull out bed not fitted, woke up first night, tangled, decided to sleep without pulling out bed next night, much better. However a little distracted by music that played continously from main office, would of liked that to stop at least by 2200. Also extremely offended by local sovenier shops that displayed obscene and vulgar t-shirts and items with explicit inuindo's completely inappropriate for any well adjusted mature adult let alone children. Beach was beautiful as always. Unless something is done about sovenier shop's would not like to return with my family, there are other beaches!!!!!!!!!

The concierge was very knowledgeable and helpful - also, the front staff desk was helpful, as well, to answer our questions.
However, the cleaning staff had a bit to be desired - there wasn't any consistency with their service. I shouldn't have to ask for clean towels and coffee, plus, sometimes, they washed the dishes, and other times not.
Another negative was that I was assigned an attached room - the folks next door had a very small child that woke up extremely early, and there isn't any sound-proofing on the door between the rooms. The reservation should have been planned better.
On a positive note, the beach is extremely clean, the ocean temperature was perfect, and the waves were strong enough to be fun, but not scary.
The food at all of the restaurants, where we dined, was excellent, and service was above par.

The room was clean and adequate for a 1 night stay. The price was great but being that it was the off-season you expect that. Loved the whirlpool bath. It's conveniently located for the most part and the room has a small balcony for sitting and watching the waves crash. All the rooms are oceanfront rooms which is nice and makes the value even better. Parking was adequate and the internet access was great. The only thing I can complain about is the hallway smelled of cigarette smoke.

Virginia Beach is one busy place during Neptune Festival so I can't honestly say we spent much time in our hotel room but it was clean, in a wonderful location and with a small refrigerator in the room it was perfect to stop in, rest up and fuel up as we went from one event to the next. Also, breakfast in the adjoining restaurant (Neptune's) was delicious. Overall I’d say it was a great choice.

I enjoyed myself at this hotel, the only problem i had was that i ordered a roll-away bed and never received it. T he front desk said they were going to bring it up but never did. And the Breakfast Bar, they just need to refresh the food on a daily bases.

Our stay was pleasant, the staff was polite and very helpful. The room we had was a Oceanside, with two double beds. The room was to small, with four people and our suitcases it was very cramped.
Will not do the same type of room, need to get a larger room or a different hotel. It rained three of the five days. But we shopped, ate, had two days at the beach had a great time. They were also doing improvements at the hotel.

Lovely but Needs Minor Improvements

The staff was very pleasant and I would definitely stay at the Crowne Plaza in Virginia Beach again. Based on the reason for my trip, the location was great and there was easy access to 264, Independence, and Virginia Beach Blvd and parking was ample.
The downfalls include a shower that could have been rinsed down fully prior to checking in, and a gym that did not have broken treadmills. One of the treadmills was stuck in a foreign language and the other would just randomly stop in the middle of a workout.

Very nice Hotel. OceanFront was just Awesome and Beautiful ... All Employee's were very pleasant and Helpful ... Pool was a bit cool but the Jacuzzi was very Relaxing.... Breakfast was very good and a great selection of Foods and Drinks... would stay there again very nice and very quiet after hours say from 11pm and on....Thanks for a wonderful stay.....

The staff was friendly made sure we had the room to our liking. The room was clean just had some stray hairs here and there. We had non smoking king size bed room not bad our room was close to the entrance so had noise but its expected. The hotel felt really small but it was still nice for just one night.

We are not usually negative but I wouldn't return. The hotel room was small, including the "jacuzzi" that was a tub right by your door (which is where you had to shower in public) so if you had company, they had to leave the room, depending on your agenda. I'm only 5'8" and the bathroom was way too small. The bed was not comfortable and we had terribly loud neighbors that would not stop talking at 1 am (it was a holiday weekend, but come on...) There was a metal door with a boltlatch seperating the rooms so I'm not sure if the walls are just too thin or you could hear under the door. The roof pool was cool but small. I wouldn't pay the price I did again EVER, I might pay 70/night at best, but again it was a holiday. The garage is laid out very poorly, also.

The room was nothing fancy, but clean and comfortable. Also had a microwave, fridge, toaster and blender in a small kitchen area, complete with dishes, silverware, corkscrew- as well as dishwashing liquid and dishtowels.
The in-room jacuzzi tub was an excellent value, compared to other jacuzzi rooms in the area.
Walls were a little thin, so noise carried. Exterior lighting was a little obnoxiously bright (brightest on the beach) to ejoying a moonlit stroll.
Would stay there again.

We got the room for a really low price--came on Sunday, left on Tuesday. The room had 2 double beds (fairly comfortable), microwave, fridge and coffee maker. The TV worked great and got loads of stations. The room was very clean, as was the bathroom. Soap and shampoo provided along with small but decent towels and handtowels. We did not take advantage of the minimal complementary breakfast so cannot comment. The hotel was across the street from the beach and was not far from any kind of restaurant you could desire. The staff was very nice. I was there to visit my Father in the hospital and found this hotel perfect for my needs. I would stay there again.

The staff-owners were nice. It's obvioius they have tried to keep the room clean, so much so that the cleaning solvents were very strong and uncomfortable to breath. The toilet seat was soooo loose it was dangerous to sit upon. But the bed was comfy.

Good get away for couples in rush

Last minute booking with late check in seems a waste when you check out the next day. But our stay became memorable when we saw a lot of dolphins early in the morning looking out from our ocean front balcony. That's priceless. We also have hot breakfast buffet. We were seating facing the ocean where you could see dolphins jumping back and forth from the distance. Even for a short time. we enjoyed our stay.

We arrived the day after hurricane Irene had hit VA Beach so the carpet by the sliding glass door was wet. It did dry by the next day so it was no big deal. The beds were very comfy. I would've preferred to stay on the 3rd floor (view of the board walk and palm tree in front of room) as we did last year, but the 10th floor view was also excellent. The breakfast buffet was better last year though. My husband and I are vegetarian and they mostly had bacon, eggs, sausage, milk, etc. so we had to go out and buy a gallon of soy milk for our cereal and ate a lot of pancakes and bagels.
The pool and hot tub also looked like it hadn't been cleaned in a few days so sadly we only went in on our first day and stayed at the beach the rest of the days.
Though there are a couple things we believe could be better we would stay there again.

We loved the Westin! The front desk staff was excellent. The fitness room was great. The pool water was cold, we heard from a family in the elevator.
However, housekeeping did not have enough towels for 4 people. We were not given enough shampoo, soap, or lotion for 4 people. One day, a bed was not even made! We tipped housekeeping daily, except for the last day due to our poor service.

Wonderful beach front stay!!

We had an amazing time here! All of the children loved the indoor and outdoor pools as well as the parents!! The outdoor pool had a bar with a food menu which was a huge bonus! The hotel is located beachfront so the 'big' kids can go right out to play at the beach while we sat on the balcony to watch them. We defiantly will try to stay here again!

Location was Great. Breakfast was Great. We rented 2 rooms due to size of our family. One of our rooms had issues with carpet having stains and loose carpet bumps. Also bed light did not work and we called to have it serviced but no one ever came. Hotel gave us $50 credit for room issues. Other room was Great. Overall our kids loved the hotel with ocean view an indoor/outdoor pool. Live music at pool was Great as well as pool bar with refreshments. Overall family vote is we would stay again!

Although not immediately on the beach, this hotel provided a nice level of amenities, including a hot tub and jaccuzzi. Additionally, because it wasn't directly off the beach, it seemed less busy and more personal. Finally, it was a very short walk from the boardwalk, harris teeter, and anything else in VA Beach. Would definitely stay here again.

The resort was very nice; the room had everything that we needed. The lobby needs a makeover but do not be discouraged the rooms are clean and nice and the staff was friendly. I would recommend and would stay again in the future. DO NOT be turned off by other online reviews. The bed was clean and cozy and so were the towels. Resort was walking distance to the beach, local shops and restaurants.

Everything was great, the beach was nice. The breakfast was just like they say,"better than average." It was always fully stocked and ready to go. The staff was not intrusive in any way and the pool was nice and clean.

Fun Family 4 Day Beach Getaway

The Holiday Inn was completely renovated. The pool and beach areas were outstanding. There were also various activities for the children throughout the day. We loved being on the north end of Virginia Beach because it was more quiet and family oriented. We still walked the boardwalk to the other end where there were many activities and free entertainment at night. The room was clean and newer, but was not as fancy as one would expect for the price. We would stay there again because of the activities and pool area. It was not until the north end of the pier that the hotel pools were beach side. We alterated from beach to pool all day.

Our stay was overall very good. The staff was very friendly and the location of the hotel is excellent. Our only 'complaints' were minor, but could be significant to others. The air conditioner is in one room of the suite with no way to circulate air to the other rooms. The 'living room' and bathroom stayed pretty warm. We wished there was a balcony and that things were not so spread out among the floors of the hotel. i.e the ice machine is on the 7th floor, one type or drink machine on 4th, another on 1st, or 3rd. Minor complaints, I know, but these things may determine whether or not we will stay there again.
Checkout was smooth, but could have been difficult. The computer was showing that we owed a balance even though we had pre-paid. A manager was there and was able to help the girl at the front desk. Some other people had been waiting for her to figure this out so they could check out. Be aware! You are required to pay $100 cash or have it held on a credit card as a 'safety fee' when you get there. You get this back at check-out.
Overall we are happy we stayed there and will stay there again if we can't get a better place with a balcony.
