The hotel was great; the directions via MapQuest however made it difficult to find the place. Once we found it, it was clean and everyone was friendly. However, they do not have a "delux continential breakfast" - very minimal a best.

We enjoyed our Sunday night in this cute town at the
historic Stonewall Jackson Hotel. The room was nice and very clean and the breakfast buffet was very good with fresh foods and fruit.

We stopped for the night with our kids and dog. It was very quiet. The rooms were perfect for us and our needs. The town was very charming! The staff was extremely friendly and helpful.

Inside the room is better than outside

My boyfriend & I had a nice hotel room & the bed was comfortable. However, between myself & my family (including kids) we rented 4 rooms. All the other rooms we nice inside also but they all said the beds were uncomfortable. I would also suggest to get a room on the bottom floor. we were on the 2nd floor & the walk area outside the rooms looked like they were going to fall due to cracking in the paint which shows they have fallen since it was made. Over all I would probley stay here again I would just get a room on the 1st floor.

We needed a pleasant 1 night stay and this hotel fit the bill. The staff was extremely pleasent. The room was comfortable and good size, but outdated. Coffee from free continental breakfast was just brown water.

I was pleasantly surprised and at the friendliness and efficiency of the check in staff and housekeepers. I don't have anything bad to say about this stay. It was in close proximity to the highway and though there was no restaurant on the premises, there were multiple places very close by. The rooms were well cared for and comfortable.

The two-double-bed room would be comfortable for two adults and maybe one child but it would be crowded with four. Every thing was clean and looked new and everything in the room looked fine. The breakfast was a little sparse but fine if you like your breakfast cold and sweet.

Convenient inexpensive place for one-night stay

Decor is old but clean. Amenities were good, especially free WiFi for which I have had to pay at more expensive hotels. Good variety for continental breakfast. The desk clerk gave us info. about restaurants in the area but failed to give specific directions which resulted in a lot of driving around, then a stop for directions.

In town for a wedding

We enjoyed our stay. Especially appreciated the desk clerk allowing us to check in early so we could change clothes after a 9 hour drive to attend a wedding.

I was there for a job interview and took my daughter with me on the trip to check out the area. The staff was very helpful in finding things in the area. The hotel was clean, the pool felt wonderful, maybe just a tad too much chlorine. The breakfast was good with a variety of foods.

It was a pleasant place which is need of upfitting the rooms and the grounds. The buffet was good, and the personnel were helpful with directions and support. But the bathtub water could not be retained, and the television reception was poor. They accepted a pet, which was a requirement for us.

I was very impressed with the Microtel. Staff were very friendly and informative. Hotel is in a great location on the edge of town with a beautiful view. Room had all I needed and the fresh choc-chip cookies were good! Being a business visitor to Staunton, I have no hesitation in recommending this hotel.

When we read the reviews of the hotel online, the internet didnt lie. The hotel was very clean and great for it's value. The staff were so nice and friendly. We came late at night and the chef prepared us a batch of hot homemade cookies. The breakfast was very tasty too. The hotel view was amazing. We could stand in front of the hotel and see the whole landscape of plains and mountains in of us. A great place for a great price. Thank you.

More than 30 restaurants within three miles. Sight seeing is nearby. Free continental breakfast with Dunkin' Doughnuts and coffee is offered every day. We are just off I-81 and I-64 in Staunton. Pet accommodation: 10.00/night per pet, up to 25 lbs. 2 pets per room.

When we checked in the receptionist couldn't recommend any good local BBQ places - only the chain restaurant next door. In the morning we had to listen to the new receptionist's constant struggle with his nasal passages - not very appetizing while trying to eat breakfast in an extremely small lobby! Dunkin Donuts is up the road abit - not available in the lobby.
It was also very hard to access the hotel parking lot unless you made a U-turn or drove through the business lot next door.

Basically a place to sleep and shower - it was Family Weekend at JMU and this was within 30 minute drive and had availabilty. Wish I had known there was a pool.

An ok hotel but noting great about it anywhere

My special someone and I went to Staunton for an easy weekend getaway before the holidays start. The hotel was easy to find and not far from downtown and other areas of interest. We arrived after 8pm and they had popcorn in the lobby for the guests to enjoy which was kinda fun but once we got to our floor we realized why the hotel want expensive at all... There was a funny smell in the hallways from what I'm guessing was a mixture of cigarettes and something else. The linens were clean and the bathroom looked like it was cleaned regularly but there was trash beside the bed and the sheets did not fit properly on the mattress. Also the only drink vending machine that worked was outside by the pool so getting a quick drink was a very chilly experience. The breakfast selection was decent and if it the available options aren't to your liking (I liked the waffle options) there is a waffle house right next door.

A country inn located in the scenic Shenandoah Valley. Six rooms and four bedroom suites are furnished with period English antiques suites provide jacuzzi tubs , and afford guests a view of the Valley. A delicious breakfast is served in the glass atrium or on the patio. Business retreats and meetings, special events, including weddings and banquets, can be held at the Inn as well. Check-in is at 3 00 PM. Guests planning to arrive before or after this time must contact the property at least 48 hours prior to arrival to receive special check-in instructions.
