Beautiful hotel within walking distance of local attractions. Room was somewhat small, as to be expected at an older hotel. As such, the bed was smaller than we prefer, but still comfortable.

Stayed here overnight for College open house. Had stayed at Hyatt place before and liked it, still nice, but it seems like the continental breakfast is getting skimpy, just some bagels and muffins - a little cereal. Otherwise very comfortable and convenient. Liked automated check-in and check-out.

My 15 year old son and I stayed at Hyatt Place in Roanoke. I heard it was a nice stay and it was. You can't ask for any more in regards to the room and setup. Super clean, very nice, and a modern feel. The separate space with the L shaped sectional and movable ottoman was great.
It's a perfect stay for the price when it comes to that 1-3 day stay for grown ups or business travelers who plan on being on the move. Not so kid-friendly. The breakfast bar is pretty basic and you have to pay for hot food (or hot chocolate - which was a bit over the top).
But, for me or any grown up or business traveler, it's a great stay.
PS - The location is good, but a little tricky getting out (can't get back on the interstate the same way you got in).

Days Inn Roanoke is located across from the Roanoke Civic Center and 2 blocks from Roanoke Downtown. We are just off 460 Route and Exit 4 East off 551 North or South. More than 15 restaurants can be found near our hotel. Property has recently been renovated in 2011 and is under new management.

The Days Inn was suitable to what we needed it for. We were visiting the area for a festival in the downtown park at Roanoke, and just needed a place to stay for the night. The location was very convenient to downtown, the civic center, the mall and other shopping, and nice dining.
The rooms were not in the best condition - old furniture, tv, wallpaper, etc. And not the cleanest. But - again, it served the purpose we needed for the quick stay.

Visited my daughter and stayed at the same hotel, Holiday Inn at Tanglewood in Roanoke, VA. The weekend manager was eager to help and very courteous. The staff kept the premises and rooms extremely clean. Location is next to the Blue Ridge Mountains and close to the city. A lot of natural beauty. Lodging price was reasonable. Restaurant always has good food and friendly service.

Very close to Airport

I came on a business trip and needed something close to the airport. There air plenty of hotels nearby, but I have always had good luck with Marriott chains. Everything was great except two things: No continental breakfast, (but I knew that before I booked), and housekeeping didn't come until close to 3:00. I had hoped they would come while I was in my meetings. It is rather inconvenient to have to leave your room so they can clean it.

I called for a pickup at the airport service was there in minutes! Initial arraival staff ready and waiting....friendly and helpful. Room was clean. Snacks available 24 hours and ride back to the airport at 4:30AM was no problem !

I stayed here for 3 nights in September 2011, in a "studio suite" with a king bed, a sitting area with sofabed, upholstered chair and desk, and a kitchen area with full-size 'fridge, microwave, stovetop, dishwasher and sink.
The hotel was spotlessly clean. When I needed extra linens they were quickly delivered.
The free breakfast buffet included scrambled eggs, homefries, sausage patties, cold cereals, hot oatmeal, fruit salad, yogurts, breads & pastries, coffee, tea, milk & juices. A great start for the day, much better than the cold "continental breakfast" often offered at other hotels.
There's a small exercise room with 2 treadmills, an elliptical trainer, and some free weights (but only 10 lbs. on up - where are the small weights?) I was disappointed to see that the outdoor pool was closed, even though the temperatures were in the upper 70s - I would have gone for a swim.
The hotel is located on a barren access road across the interstate from the airport. It's not very scenic, and there's not much within walking distance so be prepared to drive.
The price wasn't unreasonable, but it was more than double the cost of budget motels in the area.

I guess this hotel is ok for the price. I was in town visiting for Labor Day weekend. The location was convenient....not too far from downtown Roanoke. The front desk associate was very friendly and accommodating. The pool was nice plus (besides the cracked and chipped plaster). Of course, the pictures on website look so much better than the actual hotel/rooms. I'm glad they had wireless internet and HBO. The main issue for me was the old carpet in the room. As soon as I walked through the door, I had a terrible allergy attack. I began sneezing and hacking until I left the room. It would attribute it to mold and dust. I had the feeling that I shouldn't walk around with bare feet. It would be a good idea to have a vent in the bathrooms, so as to cut down on the mold. Also, the breakfast was very disappointing. There was a small assortment of cereal, which tasted stale. There was a gallon of milk sitting next to the cereal dispenser. Who knows how long that milk had been sitting there? Shouldn't milk be kept refrigerated? It would be better for them not to offer breakfast than to offer a sad, pathetic breakfast. I saw the disappointment on the faces of other guests. If you're looking for a cheap place for the night, this place might be ok.

my husband and I met there for a relaxing week end, part of the reason we picked this place was because there was a hotel bar, however the bar was not open on week-ends and the bar sign said it was only open during the week 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM, we did not know the area and did not find a nice bar. I think you should put this info in your ad.We found it misleading. Also, the hotel landscape was alful! overgrown weeds, unkept looking. But the hotel was nice.

the location was ok. i was starting to think i would never get signed in. after finally getting signed in, we found the hallway was filthy. upon getting to our room, the carpet was very dirty, the heater-airconditioner was very dirty. the bath room was pretty clean. the bed was fine. the drain in the bath tub was completely pluged up.

I stayed for one night on a school related trip. The hotel staff (especially [...], she was great!) were very friendly and helpful! This location does not have a pool, however it shares pool use with a neighboring hotel. I did plenty of local shopping and ate at two local restaurants. This hotel has a great location at the end of a street so there is minimal traffic yet is it within walking distance of the mall and two dozen restaurants including olive garden, texas steak house, red robin, panera bread and way more! I was minutes from the Roanoke airport and lots of local entertainment. My room was very nice and clean. I loved the pillows! The small kitchenette was furnished with pots, pans and dishes! My morning wake up call was an actual person and not some computer. The breakfast was good, loved the waffles! This would be an excellent hotel for extended stays! Overall I enjoyed my stay and will stay there again.

we only stayed there 1 night. we were at the martinsville race on sunday and we stayed here sunday night because the trip home was too long. the pillows were flat as pancakes, the bathroom fan rattled so bad we thought it was going to fly apart. the only good thing about this hotel was that it was near a sheetz and gas was .40 cents cheaper than at home.

The hotel is very well located near Tanglewood Mall, shopping and great restaurants. The room was very clean, good heat, plenty of hot water, t.v, microwave, refrig. The only problems we found was the sink lacked a stopper and there were no tissues in the dispenser. The rate was very competitive compared to surrounding motels. We will definitel stay there again in future visits to Roanoke

This hotel has a bad location. When we arrived we were given a room at the back where several creepy guys were hanging outside of their rooms, smoking and leering at my sister and I as we unpacked our vehicle. Feeling very uncomfortable, we asked to move to the front of the hotel. The desk manager obliged us without complaint. The room was dark and outdated and the beds were disheveled as though someone had sat/laid down on them. There was no pool and the microwave was missing from the room. The only positive thing I can say about this over priced stay is that the beds were very comfortable and it was quiet. We stayed in a Motel 6 on our travel back for half the price that was miles better than this "Quality" Inn.

We used this hotel at exit 146 as we had a funeral to attend in Tennessee. We stayed two nights-Sunday and drove Monday to TN and returned Monday night before returning home. Quick and easy access off I-81 very quiet exit. Nothing fancy just comfortable.

My experience was very pleasant. I was in virginia for a Virginia Tech football game however I booked late so this was the closest place with a vacancy. It was out of the way but still nice, especially because it was far enough not to have to deal with the rowdy college crowd after the game. The hotel was very clean and enjoyable. The only inconvenience was the light in the bathroom which did not work properly. You had to flip the switch 2.5 times to turn on the light. This did however become somewhat comical so it did not bother me. This trip compared with others I've taken seems to rate on the average/above average side.

We stayed at the Hampton Inn in Roankoke/Hollins while attending the FiddleFest at Hollins University. Check in was smooth and manager on duty was very helpful and friendly. The room was clean and bed was comfy. Our room was on the side of the hotel with all the road traffic which was a little noisy but after 11 ish the traffic slowed down a good bit. Pool water was "dark" and we decided not to swim after all. The evening attendent at the desk was a bit rude, when we asked for bottled water, which we were offered earlier in the day as "free", he asked our names and if we were "Hampton Honors Reward Clients". He gave it to us anyways.
Breakfast was averaqe and the tables were'nt being cleaned up fast enough for all the families wanting to eat. The "hot food" was cool.
Overall the stay was average. We usually stay at Hampton Inn's but this wasn't the best experience we've had.

The check-in process was brief. The room was large with a full kitchen, writing desk, queen size bed and side overstuffed chair. There was a rip in the comforter, which was promptly replaced when I reported it to the front desk. The location was quite convenient to the highway and our ultimate destination. I intend to continue to stay here during our next trips to Roanoke

I called ahead to ensure I could check out at noon instead of 11am on the day of check out and was assured yes. I then confirmed again upon check in and was advised yes. I expalined I had a long day/drive ahead of me and really needed to slepp in. Around 9am, the doors openes with someone SCREAMING HOUSEKEEPING! I immediately called the front desk and explained I confirmed twice that I was checking out at noon and the response I received was "well, they do that" This is completely unacceptable. I was then awake for the rest of the morning. Upon check out I went to the front desk to advise of my fustration and the fact the TV have a very poor reception and the front desk lady did not even acknoeledge I was there. She just glanced up and then away. I realized she had a phone up to her ear but could have at least acknowledged my presence. I just left the room key at the desk in fustration and never obtained a receipt. The room had a odor to it. Fortunately I had some room spray. This has got to be one of the worst stays I have incountered.

Good Stay for the Money!

We only stayed for one night, so everything was great for that night. Not sure I understand why you couldn't back in to a parking space there. Also, the room had a bit of a weird smell. The room was clean, the bed was good, and the air condition/heater worked well. The shower was nice and hot with good pressure; the toilet handle had to be held for a little bit for a flush; the TV was large and the channels were good. It was fairly quiet, considering how close we were to I581. In order to get to the hotel, you had to be traveling North on Route 460. If you needed to go South (to the Civic Center or downtown) you had to go North on 460, then exit onto 581 South, then get off a couple exits up onto Route 11. All these places were within walking distance, but it was raining, so we had to go this route every time to get to the Civic Center/Downtown Roanoke. Overall, a good place to stay for the price.
