We requested a non-smoking room and were given a room that smelled like cigarettes. The night manager was very apologetic and found us another "non-smoking" room, on the opposite side of the hotel. We had to reload our luggage and drive around to the other side of the building. The hotel, in general, was pretty "run-down". Every time we rode the elevator to the 3rd floor, we were not sure we would make it. The complimentary breakfast was "very" limited and we chose to eat our breakfast elsewhere. Overall experience was tolerable, but I would not choose this hotel again.

Well, this is the second time we've stayed at this hotel in Hampton, and both times we've been given this room. It's a "Non-smoking room" with an ashtray on the desk. Fortunately, it didn't smell like smoke, but every time our neighbors smoked, our bathroom reeked. The room was nice enough, and the breakfast was surprisingly good. Overall, it is a decent place to stay. The staff was very pleasant, with the exception of the night security guard. Because the room is the last one at the end of the hall at the back of the hotel, we pulled around to unload our stuff. She gave us a hard time, but after we argued for 10 minutes, she let us use the door. We were traveling with 3 very young children and coming though the front would have been very difficult. She was miserable every day we were there, but everyone else was great.

We stayed at this location to attend the PBR at Hampton Coliseum. Being able to walk so close made us not have to rush from the event and fight traffic. The FREE buffet breakfast was out of this world. The room price was very affordable. The motel was clean and staff was very friendly. I have stayed all over the country and this one ranks at the TOP.

I was just looking for a place to getaway from everything for a while and I have to say I couldn't have picked a better place. The room was clean. The area was quiet and centrally located to everything. All in all I would book this place again.

Unusual but thrifty

I was there to attend a conference. The hotel had adequate amenities. It provides affordable lodging for many local families so lodgers must be prepared for teen gatherings, children playing, babies crying, mothers scolding and an occasional bout of screaming with profanity. Those are not the usual experiences in other hotels.

I was in town for a 2-day visit and was looking for a place that was clean and inexpensive. Quality Inn fit the bill. The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the continental breakfast was good. I'd stay there again if I went back to Hampton.

Our stay was okay for a quick get away. The location was great! The room need a little work done to it. There were holes in the walls, but overall it was clean. Compared to other hotels. It falls in between. We have stayed in 4 stars as well as 2 stars.

I came to this hotel to attend a job fair at the convention center. It is very close, and also right next to a lot of fast food and a few walk in restaraunts. There is also a shopping center across the street if you forget a certain something or just have extra time. The hotel itself is best described as value-based. Nothing special, no amenities really, but the staff was very receptive and helpful when I needed an iron. If you don't need any flash, just a bed and place to rest, this is for you. Good wifi reception too

The bathroom was unfinished from the renovations ... duct work hanging down but didnt fall . and knocking on the door 45 mins before check out whats up with that ... my room had no iron or ironing board and the internet on the TV didnt work .

I went to Hampton to enjoy the quilt show at the Hampton convention center. this hotel is an easy walk to the show. the people at the desk were pleasant. the room was clean, it was nice to look outside at the courtyard and be able to open the door to check the weather. there is an additional charge of $9.95 to get a full breakfast. But, without the quilt show, there is no reason to go here.

I was there for the Hampton's Ministers Conference. This is the best ever. I failed to pack toothpaste and the staff took care of me. the breakfast was exceptional and it was FREE. I refuse to stay anywhere but at this location. The rooms were clean and the bed rocked me to sleep. The exercise room was just right. Thanks for a good week. No complaints.

This was a great experience. The manager was on duty when we checked in the night before Thanksgiving and he was very courteous and helpful. The room was very clean and the breakfast was very good. No complaints, we will stay there on our next trip to Hampton.

Visited Busch Gardens and Relatives in Norfolk and found this to be a great midpoint between both. Researched all the area hotels and this had a very high cust sat status. Only complaint is that the the doors on each room auto close and slam shut. This echos down the corresponding hall and wall. Found that in the morning attempting to sleep late impossible with people checking out and doors closing like explosions, Hotel should consider disabling these closers. Hotel was clean and in a very nice area.

Overall, the hotel was pretty perfect other than the two items mentioned in the did not like section. he staff was impeccable. Prior to making arrangements, I called to verify that the hotel has adequate security for my Motorcycle, and they assured me they do. Had no problems late arrival, staff was great and hopeful, the view is great overlooking the harbor in the heart of downtown Hampton. This is a must visit and stay hotel. Not sure why I did not stay at this hotel before!

The staff was very friendly. The hotel need to be updated. A little paint won't hurt, new sheets and bed speeds. Refrigerator had food left in it from the last person the occupied the room.

This is the only hotel in the Hampton area I will stay in. I have stayed in some bad hotels but this one is the best. The hotel staff is the best.

no radio. coffee maker did not work& was dirty inside where u put the water. this hotel was tidy. it was the bo bo hotel in the area. i wud hav spent an extra $20 for reservations elsewhr. if ur tight w/cash its fair. people who work there were curtious.

This hotel was relatively clean, but not the nicest I've stayed in while in Hampton. We traveled at night in order to get there while our children are sleeping, so the direct access to the room (park right outside your door) was very convenient. The bed wasn't very comfortable and the fitted sheet kept coming off the mattress. The supposed "wonderful" breakfast was anything but. When we got to the room where it was being served, there was nothing but dry cereal and danish.

Bed pad under bottom sheet had dust and hairs on it, s/b changed with sheets. Since we have to pick up our towels each day, office hours were not convenient for our long hours we were away from the hotel.

The hotel was diffcult to find and the hotel staff was little help. The hotel was newly renovated and located right next to the Air Force Base, as a result, you heard the planes take off very early in the morning. If you are staying during a week day and are not a early raiser this maybe a problem. The room was spacious and surpisingly very clean but the walls were VERY thin. You could here your neighbors next door. On a good note it was nice to have a microwave and a small fridge in the room. Good hotel for a brief stay!!!

The location is the only thing that I would recommend about the Hampton Travelodge. The room was large but we had to ask for kleenex and a hair dryer. The door would not close enough to lock. The room had some drywall repairs and had not been painted. Many (1/2) of the lights did not work. Someone banged on our door at 3am.

This was the worst experience I ever had for a hotel stay. When I drove up to the Econo Lodge it looked nothing like the pictures that were on the internet. From the outside the hotel looked rundown. Didn't care too much for the surronding area. AFter checking in they gave me my room and it was horrible. I wouldn't allow a dog to stay in the room they gave me. The carpet was worn and filthy. The majority of the carpet had spots all over it. The room had a terrible odor that was unbearable. The air conditioner had half of the vents that were broken and cracked. The bathroom had mold around the walls and the shower/bathtub had brown and black marks on the surface. The bed covering was old and not fresh. When I went back to the front desk to ask for another room, they had problems changing my room because the system would not allow them because of the special rate I got through [...]. After they figured that out I recieved another room. All I can say is that it smelled better and appeared to be alot cleaner. There were roach hotels within the room also. Thank God I only had to stay for one night. I will not recommend this Econo Lodge to anyone. The thing that got to me the most is they actually would put a quest in such a room that was so rundown. That room should be shutdown. No thanks, but I will not be going there ever again.

Orbitz screwed up when they confirmed 2 beds for the 3 of us & this hotel only had one bed in each room. The front desk clerk felt sorry for us and upgraded us to a suite that had a pull out bed at no extra charge. If it hadn't been for her, we would have been sleeping on the floor!!! No since in that big of a mistake on Orbitz's part!!!!!
