About what we expected, minus a little

Checked during early afternoon that our room was available - it was. Went back later that night, were given our room keys, went to the room, door wouldn't open. Went back, person followed us back to the room, realized the room wasn't ready/ clean. Had to wait for another room.
The towels were the thinnest I've come across in any hotel - barely held any water. The bathroom was closet sized but had good water pressure.
We stayed here because of location, and needed somewhere to crash after a football game. Not as nice as we were hoping.

A decent place that could be better...

We picked the Cavalier Inn because of its location and price. The room was clean, the bathroom worked fairly well (sink drain slow, usual problem with slow shower head). But the carts to transport luggage to room were rickety and the breakfast was barely edible.
What exemplifies the problems with this place are the windows over the catwalks on the street elevation of the building. The appear not have been cleaned in weeks.

Beautiful place on a great location, everything fine, very good personnel.
The only problems are that they provide these new square pillows (half pillows), and if you, like me, use more than one pillow regularly, this is pretty uncomfortable. Also, the A/C system is rather noisy and clunks through the night.

The best beds, pillows and linens. Remote location to downtown and definitely not a deal at $200 a night. Watch out UVA fans, this hotel books in the opposing teams and fans. Banners, balloons the whole nine yards (get it?)

Too hard to find

The telephone agent booking this room for us hardly knew what she was talking about. She argued with me about what location I wanted to stay at -- I knew exactly what I wanted already. She also should have been aware of the routing to this location and warned me that it was extreemly hard to find unless we followed one particular North/South route from the main highway. I tried to find it coming from the East side. I'd been driving 16 hours by the time we got to Charlottsville and had to go back and forth across the little town for over a half hour to find this difficult location. The staff personnel were helpful but watched us too intently for comfort while we brought in our baggage. The room was clean. The staff were frindly in the morning. It was my first stay at a Super8. I might try one again. I usually use Motel6 which is as good or better and cheaper.

Hotel was priced right and in a good location. Everything was what I expected until a couple got in a fight at 6am which included a car horn blowing repeatedly and loud yelling for 20 minutes. Maybee the staff could have done something to put this fire out. I was going to inquire about the incident at the office but no one was there for the 15 minutes I waited while having a bagel and coffee. I hope the noise was an rare incident but I was suprised how long it went, seemingly unnoticed.

Went for sightseeing, hotel staff was very friendly, had no problem checking in, breakfast was available every morning and room was equipped with fridge and microwave as advertised.
The downside would be the chipped bath tub and loud ac unit but was hardly in the room.

The staff was very helpful and the proximity to UVA was great considering I didn't understand about the home football games and how the hotels are booked. Room had a slight smell - but was clean. Breakfast was good and easy since we had a 10:15 appt that we needed to make. We needed a place to sleep that was clean and safe - my daughter and I were satisfied.

The hotel is less than I expect from a Holiday Inn. The pool & hot tub were closed (outdoor), the restaurant was very slow and has limited selection. The hotel does not provide a free breakfast to priority club (Holiday Inn loyalty club) members. Surprisingly the hotel did not have/provide a list of local restaurants and the desk staff seemed put out that we were not dining in.
All in all it was very expensive (160/night) for a mediocre experience.

Great location at the top of the historic walking mall by restaurants and shops. Room was very comfortable, the only thing missing was a directory of local activities and dining options. Our room looked out into an indoor courtyard, very nice view. Be sure to bring gym clothes and bathing suit! Great weekend getaway, lots to do.

The Omni Charlottesville has a lot going for it and we will definitely return. It's perfectly situated on the edge of the historic downtown area and a few short minutes away from the University of Virginia. It is close to Monticello. The rooms are clean and well appointed and the staff is cheerful, helpful and efficient. The restaurant on the ground floor offered yummy, well-priced food. A minor criticism would be the slow flow of water in the shower. While we appreciate the need to conserve water, and especially hot water for a hotel full of guests, we were surprised at the antiquated system in our bathroom that delivered warm water at a very slow rate. Showers took three or four times the usual time! We will certainly return and thank the staff at the Omni Charlottesville for a very nice stay.

staff was great--room and facilitiy were great--a little more challenging to get to the jpj arena than staying on 29 at the marriot or the doubletree----however --this is not the staffs fault--i will stay here again for another event if the rooms are priced competively with the previously mentioned hotels--

American Grill restaurant was wonderful! Breakfast and dinner meals were better than a lot of restaurants. The only complaint were the beds. Suppose to have a dial to change the air in the mattress but we could not find it on either bed. We would definitely stay at a Hilton again though.

Quick trip to Charlottesville with my son for a baseball tourney. Residence Inn 2 BDRM suite was clean and comfortable. Bathrooms were clean but basic. Complimentary breakfast was above average, but seating area is small.

We stayed a couple of nights in this very clean hotel. It was near all the places that we wanted to visit. Breakfast buffet was more than adequate. Would stay here again. The staff was magnificent.

I had reserved a nonsmoking room, adding a message that I have asthma and a smoke allergy. I was given a smoking room, or anyway one that smelled like an ashtray. The desk clerk moved me to another room, one that smelled only slightly smoky. This is typical treatment for a female traveling alone. The hotel is attractive, overpriced, not altogether clean, with uncomfortable beds and acceptable food. I won't stay here again if I can help it.

We arrived late and our reservation was in order and the check in was very pleasant and quick. We left late the next morning after having a great breakfast with wonderful service. We walked the grounds and visited the golf proshop. We plan to visit again when we have more time to take advantage of everything offered.

We were not expecting high end, but for $129/night we were expecting a bit more. The beds were very comfortable, the towels were plentiful and clean. The TV needs an update and the bathroom could have been cleaner...the 3D stains on the wall were off-putting. I would have been happier to have spent $75 for this visit.

We were looking for a hotel while we visited Monticello, but had no idea that UVA's graduation was the same weekend! So, I booked this, and really it was OK, but the ceiling in the bathroom was literally gravity challenged and the place didn't seem too clean overall. HOWEVER, the breakfast was great for continental (waffles, bicuits with gravy, good fruit and pastries), and unlike more expensive hotels we stayed at on our trip the WiFi was free! It was OK ...

This cute hotel is snuck behind Canes and it's there for a reason...quiet! May I commend the wonderful front desk manager for such nice help? Cherry is her name and she was able to get us in RIGHT AWAY to a wonderful non-smoking room. She was wonderful and made our stay great! Fine room, clean, quiet and comfortable. Need I say more??!!

This was a fine place to stay with no outstanding or disparaging remarks. The concierge ranged from a gruff check-in host to friendly and enthusiastic at the end of our visit. We requested a room with refridge and got one with no fuss or cost. Free newspaper and relaxing pool. No hot tub. Continental breakfast was very good with healthy choices like Kashi cereal and fresh fruit. Even though the hours were 6 am - 10 am we were able to come down at 5:45 am for our last breakfast there.

Very friendly and helpful staff. First room smelled smoky, but front desk quickly found me a new room when I complained. Short easy drive to the university and downtown. Free breakfast was decent and included healthy options like cereal, oatmeal, yogurt, and fruit.

Booked 2 months in advance non smoking. Called 2 weeks prior to verify non-smoking room. Arrive and told yes it's a non-smoking room. Go to the room and its a smoking room. Fortunatly they were able to move us to a non-smoking room. Told in office that you can request non-smoking but there is no guarentee it will be non-smoking. 2nd time in three stays they have put us in non-smoking.

I needed a hotel room in a hurry (skiing accident: kid with shattered elbow taken to C'ville hospital) and this place was a decent, inexpensive room. It's an older place and shows its wear and tear, but it was clean and had good coffee in the morning. It's right next to UVA's lacrosse fields, so if your stay was for UVA purposes, this location would be great. Check-in clerk was courteous.
