Nice large rooms, good free internet, nice tv with lots of Directv channels, free parking, good staff, good location, good all the way around. They have a hot breakfast but I didn't take advantage of it because I don't eat breakfast but my family does when they travel with me and they like it. I was on a business trip this time.

Cheap
- Jun 24, 2011
The hotel charges 59-79, without any special rates or discount websites, which is low for the area. But that goes without saying you get what you pay for. They don't offer vegetarian options at breakfast, the hotel soaps look like they are donated from other local hotels (brands didnt match up), and the stairwells are unkept.
The room was clean, the bed comfy, and staff nice. We just need a place to sleep, it wasn't a vacation we invested in.

Adequate, nothing fancy

Uncle Paulie
- Apr 17, 2012
We chose HoJo Express because it was one block away from the Arena Station of SLC's light rail system. It's also walkable to Temple Square. Another plus was the free shuttle van to/from SLC Airport. The room wasn't huge but was OK. The bathroom was supplied with face towels as well as the normal large bath towels. The place was clean enough, but you could tell it wasn't a brand new hotel. The free breakfast consisted of cereals, toast, fruit, and pastries - good enough until lunchtime.

The hotel was pretty good. Rooms were a bit dated but it had everything we needed, lots of towels, shampoo, condition, etc. Breakfast was okay, didnt have a waffle maker or anything like that, but they had cereals, toast, etc.
Biggest complaint is that the pillows were too fluffy/tall. I like my pillows to be a bit more flat and they were super puffy pillows. But overall a decent stay

Convenient location for quick family trip
-
Liza K
- May 14, 2012
Convenient location, helpful hotel staff, wonderful daily breakfast buffet. Nice room layout with comfortable beds, large sitting area and big screen tv. Staff bent over backwards to assist guests. Current construction makes location difficult to access via car, but not too much of a problem on foot. Stone's throw from free downtown metro service. Only negative issue we had was getting our room serviced by housekeeping. Apparent mixup in housekeeping schedules required us to call numerous times to get housekeeping to freshen up the room and provide fresh towels.

The hotel room was nice. The only thing is we were on the 6th floor and looking directly into another building. Not exactly a city view. Also, they do not validate parking. We either had to park it ourselves and pay $20 or have them valet park it for $17 for 1 night.

We had a pleasant 2 nights stay for the price at this hotel during Spring Break. Room was clean and comfortable. The hotel is in a perfect location, walking distance/across the road to the sights (temple), and the shops and restaurants in the beautiful new shopping mall (City Creek Center). The only minor complaint is that the room was slightly cold because we switched off the noisy heater. The new Natural History Museum of Utah in the Rio Tinto Center was well worth a visit.

The guest at the Peery Hotel is welcomed into a large, comfortable, historic lobby with a grand staircase and blazing fireplace. Fresh water and coffee are provided in the lobby. Staff are friendly and helpful, eager to please. The decorations are all Old Style Western. The room was comfortable and quiet. One small complaint would be the size of the bathroom. I had to squeeze between the sink and the toilet to reach the shower. But that's a minor inconvenience. They promise that a pub will soon open off the lobby, so it will only get better!

Walking distance to the Salt Palace was great in the mild Utah winter, no problems nice direct, clean route. Hotel might have been two units, we stayed in the attached enclosed unit where it was all good..
two exceptions: the room was warmer than I woudl have liked it so I tried working with the themostat, which never seemed to work right and the unit was a little noisy like a bath room exhaust and one of our keys didn't work on the side street entrance doors. Not that big of deal where I was whinning to hotel mgmt. It was a good deal.

The room was great. The entire place was clean and welcoming. The staff were all accommodating and I loved the big fire place in the lobby. One issue, however, was that you couldn't get a single normal t.v. station (besides FitTV and the news) without paying for it. There were better t.v. channel options on the ellipticals at the gym, which I enjoyed while I was there. I also found the menu choices at Elevations to be predictable and uninspiring. The food was fine but I expected more from such a large hotel. I had an easy time getting to and from the hotel using an Express shuttle but, again, I thought because of its size and numerous other amenities that it would have its own shuttle service. I recommend getting one! Overall, it was a good experience. I'm not raving, but I'm also not ranting.

I was in Salt Lake for business and the customer service at the Marriott was excellent from start to finish. Great room service, front desk and house keeping...it was all there.
My one gripe (and this is a big one especially if your in for business)would be the so called high speed internet service. I paid 12.95 for a slower than wifi connection when connected via ethernet. The paid wifi was equally as slow. Strangely enough the free wifi in the lobby provided faster internet than the paid service.

I really enjoyed the hotel. The building is beautiful right in downtown and there is no shortage of attractions nearby, especially the Temple Square and Conference Center of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints (mormons).
The only problems that we found was that the mattress and pillows were very firm and both my wife and I had hurt backs the next day. The food is good but it is given through the cafe in the lobby and what you get complementary is a small quantity. I was hungry until I ate some more elsewhere.

Very nice hotel, especially good for the price. Free parking so that's a bonus. Just beware on Friday and Sat nights- there is absolutely no parking so we have to park at a meter since everyone was out and abuot going to restaurants/clubs. Great location, close the the highway, nice staff. Wasn't too pricey and def well worth a stay in Salt Lake!

I stayed here one week. The staff is very nice and accommodating. There is a great free shuttle to/from the airport. Fresh coffee is served every morning in the lobby. The beds are comfortable and the pillows were plentiful!
The cable channel selection was very "guy" oriented, but if you like news and sports, you're good to go.
There's FREE wi-fi in the hotel, which is awesome!
This hotel is not really next to anything, so if you don't have a car, you'll have to do some walking. Fortunately, SLC is very flat. I had a lot of trouble figuring out the buses, so I gave up. I did use the streetcars a lot in the downtown area, which was great.

Skiing hotel

- Dec 23, 2011
We didn't expect the hotel to be totally under renovation during our stay but aesthetics aren't high on our list of priorities so it didn't matter that the lobby and corridors were all torn up. The UTA ski bus picked us up and dropped us off right in front of the Radisson every day...made for a very comfortable day of just having to think about skiing and not the drive.
Easy to walk to restaurants, movies, etc...and the UTA bus/Trax system makes SLC one of the easiest to get around.
I'd recommend the Radisson....especially the wonderful whirlpool we used each night to ease aching muscles!

I bought a package deal through Orbitz for flight and hotel for a last-minute business trip. The price was so reasonable I figured the hotel would be a dump, but as I only needed a couple hours of sleep between meetings, I was willing to try it.
Turns out the hotel was terrific - looked good, close to every place I needed to be, clean, friendly & helpful front-desk staff. Only drawback was the tram (Uta-Trax) stopping in front of the hotel every 15 minutes - even from the 12th floor I could hear it at night and early morning when it started its run.
The housekeeping staff also need some lessons on manners - I was nearly run over by a maid and laundry cart in the main elevators one morning - I'm sure there's a service elevator for that!

We were in Salt Lake for the Century bicylce tour & booked this hotel for five nights and chose it to save money, which we did. It was cheaper then the rest and it was close enough to the downtown area. We just needed a clean room to sleep in and got that. It seemed there were low income people staying in the rooms for extended periods, they may have a deal with some government agency. The tiny pool was not operational and if it was, you wouldn't want to go in it. Cheap and clean is what we wanted and what we got. Ask for the ground floor as there is no elevator.

Nice clean room. Two double beds. Noisy fridge, so much so, had to unplug it to sleep. A lot of noise from people in the room above every night - heard every footstep over squeaky floorboards, toilet flushing, bed squeaking etc. No coffee/tea making facilities, but we had a travel kettle with us. Cereal, toast or waffles for breakfast. Had to sit with my back to the fish tank whilst eating to avoid looking at the dead fish that had been laying in there all week! Good location within walking distance of town centre, Liberty park, etc if you are quite fit. Would use this again as a base in SLC.

Safe and Clean to Sleep and Shower, Not for the Disabled Traveler
- carmitch
- Nov 9, 2011
I was looking for a place to stay while checking out apartments in SLC. Since I'm on a tight budget, I shopped around and found this place.
PRO: It is safe and clean. I have been in chain hotels that weren't as clean as this place. No bedbugs in the bed. The bed was actually nice. The staff was great and could give travel tips if needed. (I ended up becoming friends w/ one of the staff.) They were flexible when I had a banking issue that affected my stay.
CON: If you're looking for more than a place to sleep and shower, this is not the place. Their only 'accessible' room wasn't really accessible. It was the same size as the other rooms, unlike the major chains that have larger accessible rooms. The shower is a roll-in w/ grab bars, but the shower head is a fixed high one and not adjustable. It did have a bath chair. Plus, a wheelchair can not go beyond the shower. It was a tight squeeze between the bed and TV cabinet. Also, when you reserve an accessible room, to them, it means you 'prefer' one, not need one. When I checked in, they had let the prior guest stay one extra night, even though I had called in the day before to double-check my reservation. It was after the fact that I was told they would've put me in another hotel's accessible room at their expense.
Overall, it's an okay place if you're an able-bodied guest needing just a safe and clean place to sleep and shower. Oh, and if you're traveling w/ someone, hope you're comfortable being physically close to that guest, as the room's pretty small.

O.K., so you need a reasonably priced and clean room. This hotel will do the job. Free WiFi, free breakfast and in downtown. It's 5 blocks to the Family History Library and many eateries are close by. A little traffic noise in the morning and car wash next door not too bad. Not a bad place to stay. I would stay again if needed.
