Park City Hotels

Park City is a year-round resort town located on the Eastern side of the Wasatch Mountains, part of the Rocky Mountain Range in Utah. Probably best known for its skiing and winter season with three world-class ski resorts- Park City Mountain Resort, The Canyons Resort and Deer Valley Resort - as well as hosting the annual Sundance Film Festival. The winter offers great opportunities for skiing, snowboarding, cross-country skiing, snowshoeing, ice skating, snowmobiling, sleigh rides, tubing, shopping and dining. Summer activities include hiking, mountain biking, road biking, horseback riding, golfing, shopping and dining.

In 2002 Park City was a major host site for the Salt Lake City Winter Olympics. 175 city volunteers contributed more than 6000 hours to the Games, or the equivalent of 750 workdays (and this doesn't even count the public safety volunteers). Long before Park City became a world class mountain resort and venue for the 2002 Olympic Winter Games, it was famous as a silver mining town, and boasts a lively and colorful past. Founded by prospectors in the late 1860's, Park City continued to mine silver until the early 1970's. The mining company, Park City Consolidated Mines, started the ski business in 1963, when they built the first lifts on what was then called Treasure Mountain.

Nice Value for Comfort off of Main Street

  • kfrestel
  • Mar 12, 2012
Room was great! Larger than expected, super comfortable bed. The staff here went completely out of their way to assist us, and their interactions never came across as trained responses or insincere. It is well located right between PCMR and Canyons if you plan to split skiing time at both. Easy to catch shuttle right outside the hotel, but it isn't as easy to walk to downtown after a long day skiing (uphill) or if you're still adjusting to the altitude.

Great locale with a full condo with the convenience of full time hotel staff. Super complimentary morning breakfasts, hot tub, fitness center and nice pool for the kids. Shuttle service to anywhere in town for dinners on Main Street, Park City, and at our convenience to the slopes is a real asset over other properties and more than makes up for the expensive convenience of being slopeslide. Have stayed in a number of Deer Valley properties and still like this one the best.

From the bad reviews I was afraid it would be a dump but I was surprised by the newly painted walls and the room was taken care of pretty well. I gave low rate for staff because they go away (lobby) - they actually shut the counter area totally and all you have is a phone to leave messages. one day my room did not get seviced and i called the staff to bing me towels but no one came or called me back. The next morning a lady came, made our bed, left towels but thought that the half little shampoo sample was enough for us... hehe... we managed. Now it is very well located and clean. I wish the bed was not so soft. The guy upstairs waljed very heavy but I guess they cannot control that. I would go back if I could not afford a $120 hotel again. As

Hotel was great but the lady at the front desk who worked Wednesday afternoon on Oct.21st was extremely unhelpful. I had never been to Utah so I was asking how to get to nearby Kamas. She corrected my pronunciation of the city, said it was about 30 minutes away and then put her nose right back into her computer screen. I was the only customer in the lobby. I didn't even see any other customers during my 3 day / 2 night stay, so I'm not sure what she was so busy doing that she could not be more helpful. Everyone else at the hotel was very freindly though. Lastly, the strict 10am check out was a little bothersome and created a slight problem for me. I really enjoyed the room and the location though.

Nice hotel in a nice location

  • Moondogg
  • Feb 21, 2012
Our room was very clean upon arriving. Comfortable beds. Overall, it was a good hotel. Nothing too special, but better than average. The only complaint I have is that the walls are paper thin and don't muffle any sound between rooms. We could hear the person in the next room on a phone call as if we were sitting in his hotel room. Plus, he snored VERY LOUD all night long, which was unpleasant. Besides that, I was happy with the hotel. The free breakfast buffet was above average and nearly made up for the sleepless night thanks to our snoring neighbor.

Best Western Offers Much to Guests

We have vacationed at the Best Western Landmark Inn several times in Park City, Utah over the past five years. The hotel is always clean, the staff are friendly and geared to satisfying customer needs, and the bus shuttle to the ski resorts in the area is very convenient and the highlight of the amenities with regard to convenience!! The lobby area is very attractive and inviting to guests to sit and relax and the complimentary cookies in the afternoon at the front desk are very tasty. The breakfast area offers a choice of hot and cold buffet items and the food is really good. We would highly recommend this facility to families and other guests.

Great time, great place!

  • Apr 1, 2012
We loved Park City and were very pleased with our accommodations at the Silver King. We had a studio room with a full kitchen, and we liked the fact that there were two bathroom sinks (a vanity area and one in the actual bathroom). We enjoyed the hot tub. Our room (312) was in a great location - only a couple doors down from the back exit of the hotel (3rd floor), which was directly across the parking lot from the ski lifts. We were also right down the hall from the hot tub and pool but not too close where we heard any noise. The underground parking was very convenient. I had read comments that the parking spots were too small for SUV's but we didn't have a problem. I would definitely recommend this hotel and a trip to Park City! Fabulous restaurants and Park City is a great town with character! We skied Park City, Deer Valley and the Canyons and felt Park City was the perfect base.

Hotel was beautiful, staff very pleasant. Rooms need full length mirror, as well as mirror outside bathroom for additional dressing. Ice needs to be available in buildings instead of by room service. Staff was very pleasant, although our luggage was delayed, an item broken and not replaced, and basic info over phone not available/didn't know. Convenience (ski in/out) a plus. Hot tub/pool outstanding.

Not what we wanted, don't recommend

  • kdcarl
  • Aug 6, 2011
We had reserved a one bedroom at another property because it had exactly what we were looking for but when we arrived there we were told they were full and we had been "upgraded" (bumped, in other words) to this one. Once we found the Lodge, got into the parking garage which was mostly closed for construction and then found the registration desk we got our room. Since my husband is disabled we have to have easy access, which this place does not; and once I finally got him and everything into the room we discovered that: 1) many items such as dishes and the TV remote were missing; 2) the jetted tub, one of the things I really want on my vacations, just sprayed water all over the bathroom and couldn't be used 3) the only working washing machine in the place was three floors down, and always in use and 4) our room looked right out onto the plaza of the lodge where there was a big festival going on all weekend so beginning at 8 each morning inflatable bouncy castles and such were blown up, and the very noisy activities went on all day and into the night. Since it was a weekend the problems with the room couldn't be fixed, at least that's what the one person in the facility told us. While the room was lovely, with all these problems it did not make for a relaxing trip, and I was very disappointed. If there isn't a way to resolve problems there is something wrong with the place. And since it wasn't even where we had reserved that made it even more disappointing!

  • Apr 27, 2012
We went there for spring skiing. The hotel located right at the Canyon Mountain. Very easy access to lifts and other restaurant. It is very convenience, they have everything you need here you don't have to leave resort. The kids love the indoor/outdoor pool. We love the fact that there are several pools in the resort and an adult pool area. The rate I have for the room included ski valet which is great! They take you skis out to the gondola and when you are done skiing they store your skis and dry your booths. I would definitely recommend this place.

The Westgate in Canyons is a very friendly and welcomming hotel with a high standard in everything and a lot of service included in the price, that makes your stay a lot easier. Great helpful staff, everything under one roof and situated by the square in the center of the village. However when it was buildt or rather drawn they completely missed the logistic part. To be able to use all the facilities you have to get down in one elevator, walk a couple of hundred meters, go up in the next elevator and then walk in another directon to the other end of the building. In our case, we stayed at 8 floor, the breakfast walk looked like this. Down to 4, walk to the other end, up to 6, walk to the Westgate grill ( great Restaurant). after breakfast walk to elevator, down to 4 to the skiboot lockers, up to 6 floor to the ski valet service wich we allready have passed two times this morning! I admit it's a small problem, but it harms your overall experience.

our two bedroom unit was clean and nicely furnished. Enjoyed the hot tub on the balcony which had a view of the Deer Valley mountain. Very average

  • PhilT
  • Mar 24, 2012
The room was large but dark. There was no overhead light, and the three table lamps were very dim. Further, none of them were near the couch so the only way to read was in bed. The heater had no degree adjustment, so it ran all the time. The coffee maker sometimes worked on the outlet provided and other times had to be plugged into the refrigerator socket and the refrigerator turned off while coffee brewed. No breakfast was included, and the breakfasts in the restaurant were average at best. At checkout, the employee did not know how to include charges billed to the room and had to call the manager. I would not stay here again. There are better places in Park City for similar price.

Great ski trip

  • Joe
  • Feb 24, 2010
Great location, quaint character, fun place to stay if you want to be downtown and convenient to restraunts, bars, and shops. Our party of 7 all enjoyed April Inn. We initially had a problem with one of the sleeper sofas and called the front desk. They sent maintenance to check it out and they couldn't redily fix the problem, so they gave us an additional one room condo. Great service, thanks [...]! We will come back next year.

Liked the underground garage especially since it snowed two nights. Walls are a little thin but plan to stay at hotel again. Will request the larger room type and the top floor.

Perched on two levels near some of the countrys most famous ski and mountain biking destinations in Park City, Utah, the resort includes slope-side private residences, condominium suites, and 181 custom-designed rooms. The upper and lower lodges are connected by a European style funicular, making access both scenic and effortless. A section of the hotel sits adjacent to Deer Valley, where skiing is the activity of choice. After a day on the areas legendary deep powder or its impeccably groomed slopes, guests may warm up by a crackling fire and unwind with a fine martini in the St. Regis après ski lounge. The resort enhances the ski-in, ski-out experience with a ski valet service and a private “snow beach” where guests can relax in the sun, perhaps contemplating a soothing dip in the split-level heated infinity edge swimming pool or a revitalizing treatment in the 14,000 square-foot spa. Dinner in the resorts gourmet restaurant completes a perfect day. Home to several 2002 Winter Olympic venues, Park City and Deer Valley are four-season outdoor destinations. When the snow melts, guests have access to golf, fly fishing on the Provo River, lift-served mountain biking and hiking through breathtaking scenery. Cool summer mornings are the ideal time to drift over the lush green mountains and valleys in a hot air balloon—all easily arranged through your St. Regis Butler. The town of Park City offers a rich selection of boutiques, select outdoor and sporting equipment stores, inviting pubs, and restaurants. The performing arts culture also thrives here, with nationally touring as well as local concerts.

Beautiful Accomodations and Location

  • Playhard
  • Oct 4, 2010
Enjoyed the beautiful setting of Deer Valley and the mountain biking. Incredible food whether dining in or out. The only issue was the parking arrangements. If you are not coming and going and plan to spend all your time at St. Regis then this place is a 10+ but if you are like us that are coming and going it can become tedious going through the parking routine and riding the funicular up and down.

Above and beyond Staff

The staff ws very friendly and helpful. I realized when I got home that I had left all of my prescription medicines in the room. I called the hotel and they looked in their lost and found and said they had my prescriptions there. They took them on a Saturday and shipped them back home to me in Louisiana.

Good hotel with some drawbacks

  • January skier
  • Jan 8, 2012
Nice hotel, clean, friendly, good receptionists, best WiFi I possibly ever had in a hotel, free breakfast, nice pool and hot-tub area. Room was clean, seemingly new furniture and carpet, a lot of storage space. Some downsides compared to similarly priced hotels nearby (BW Landmark Inn, Hampton Inn) include more limited breakfast and particularly poor sound insulation. If the people in the room next to you or above you get up, you will notice. For me, the bed was too hard, gives me back pain; but that may apply only to me.

Great Location

  • Skibum
  • Mar 11, 2011
The Sundial is located only steps from the gondola base and right on the main plaza where the Canyons facilities are located. You can't get any closer. The hotel is setup with very long hallways and the elevator banks are at one end of the hall rather than in the middle, so if you do not want to do a lot of walking, ask for a room closer to the elevator. There are limited breakfast options at the Canyons. There was nothing in the hotel itself. Our room had a toaster and a microwave, so you could prepare a simple breakfast in the room if you bring your own supplies. There also are limited dinner options, but we went into Park City for dinner every night, so that was not a problem. Other than the limited dining options, the service at the hotel was great. Complementary parking (below ground) and ski check, outdoor hot tub and heated swimming pool, free wifi. Our room also shared a washer/dryer with the adjacent room. The staff was always helpful and friendly.
