In town for a job interview. The hotel was perfect. Conveniently located just a few minutes from my destination yet access to everything else was quite easy, food, entertainment, etc. The best part about my stay was the complimentary breakfast which was much more than the usual continental bagels and coffee. Would definitely recommend to anyone in town for a short business stay.

we stayed here because its pretty close to reliant park. the area was okay it wasnt as bad as I thought it was gonna be. The room was okay the bed was really firm n hard. overall it was clean. the bathroom was tiny. if u stay with someone whom is not ur spouse or hasn't seen u with out ur clothes then this is not for u there is no room to chg in bathroom. tv and air con worked real well. even though the bed was hard I would probably stay there again.

Hotel was clean staff that I talked to were friendly.... Although the continental breakfast advertised was the option of cherios or muffins.... Also if you don't like chinese or pizza don't get your hopes up on local delivery.

Very Nice Hotel

My wife and I stayed here 5 nights while we were in Houston for appointments at the medical center. The room was very big and clean. There was a slight odor of mustiness but not bad. The pool and hot tub were awesome and the staff was very friendly. We will be back.

Overall, very good stay. Very helpful staff. Nice breakfast. Door to the room could be sealed a little better. Large gap all the way around the door allowed for noise from the hallway; fortunately other guests were not noisy during the night.
Close to the TMC and right off a major freeway to get back and forth from the airport.
Plan to stay there again!

Great stay for touring Houston with kids.

The staff and especially the shuttle drivers were outstanding with helping me travel with my two kids under two. We spent several days at the hotel to visit the zoo and museums. The rooms are small but the kitchette was helpful to manage multiple meals for the kids. I only wish they had valet. It was hard to get two sleeping kids and lugage in from the parking lot. Also could use a hot tub!.

I came here with my boyfriend for a week long trip before we move to Houston. The hotel was conveniently located in the Medical Center near Rice University and the Museum District. It was a quick drive to a lot of restaurants and tourist areas. The shuttle service they provided to Rice Village (among other locations) was really convenient! One thing that stood out to me was that the room wasn't always cleaned the same way--one day they would vacuum, the next they wouldn't; one day we'd have extra towels and the next day not enough. The pool was small but nice to lay out by and quiet. There is a lot of parking, but it gets packed on weekend nights and you need to make your own spots. For $6/day, however, that's not bad. Other hotels we considered were charging $20+/day. I'd recommend staying here if you want a comfortable, affordable hotel that's not fancy but has all the amenities.

Perfect for Medical Center

I was alone and had to stay for medical tests, which, of course, took longer than expected. The hotel staff were very kind and welcoming, the shuttle was fantastic, and I felt very safe and comfortable. Room could have been cleaner, especially bathroom, but grounds were very nice. Loved the outdoor tables, which I can envision being used in warmer weather by those confined to the rooms. A picnic would brighten any day when medical procedures loom!

I usually like this hotel and come here every year. It's only a couple blocks from the Medical Center, Rice, several museums, and the zoo. It's gated and far enough away from the numerous highways that plague Houston, that one can actually get some sleep at night.
Having said that, it does suffer in a couple areas. Unlike most hotels, it does not have a pool or a gym. And this year, my room was awfully warm despite the A/C blowing at full tilt.

This Marriott was a great location near the hospitals, but there was plenty to be desired as far as places to eat nearby. Luckily, the hotel had a great shuttle service to local places like Rice Village with plenty of eating and shopping.

Everything was very enjoyable, aside from the room service experience on the morning of check-out. I phoned at 7:20 am to order 2 orders of pancakes (one special order of nutella), one hashbrown, and one eggwhite frittata, oj and milk. At about 7:30 the lady that took my order phoned back about which side did we want with the pancake order. I called at 7:55 and asked about the status of the order, as we needed to leave as close to 8 as possible, and she put me on hold, came back and said they are on their way up. At 8:15 I phoned back and the same lady said the guy was on the elevator. at 8:25 I was leaving the room with my luggage and almost on the elevator when the gentleman carrying my order passed me. I told him my kids were waiting on the order but that we were very late and I was going to pull the car around. All this and the tab was $70 for the breakfast. Unreal, to say the very least. While waiting on the food to arrive, I checked the menu and the room for any clause stating to allow for certain amount of time for delivery and found none. Just FYI.

was in town for the final four men's NCAA basketball game. Easy to get to reliant stadium and the tram to go into the city. The room was nice but the amenities were poor. The building facade was dated and worn as was the hallways and elevators. One elevator was broken and the ice machines on our floor were all out of order
I would only recommend staying here if you want to walk to the stadium

I have stayed in Candlewood Suites and all were 3-4 star. All had nice lobbies, great breakfast and even happy hour in some. This one gad none of that. While nice and clean it was much more like a Homestead Suites than a Candlewood. Much more deserving of a 2+.

Vandalization - no help from hotel

On 6/06/2011 our vehicle was vandalized within 100 feet of the front door of the hotel and in complete view of security cameras. Staff was not helpful in getting the police out, and another vehicle in the same lot was also broken into via smashed windows.
Our vehicle sustained over $8,000.00 damage. It took police over two hours to show up. UNSAFE !!!

Service was decent. Staff friendly. I needed to get back and forth to M.D. Anderson and wanted a shuttle whenever possible. Driving to the Village shopping area had amazing restaurants and shops.

This was the first time I used [...]to find a hotel and it was a great experience. The hotel was clean and we all liked the hotel. It was going through some construction so some areas were closed but they did there best to make us feel comfortable. It was very close to the medical center. I would definetely stay again.

Fantastic comfort & sleep before surgery

We were only there for one night. My husband was having surgery the next day at St. Luke's, so it was important that we be relaxed and get a good nights sleep. We both were very comfortable and relaxed. The beds with luxurious sheets and a variety of 6 down pillows, firm, soft, medium on each bed. The beds were the most comfortable hotel beds that we have ever slept in. We both had a very good night's sleep. The continental breakfast was great with a large variety. Over all It was a great stay.

I was in the area on business & this is where I stay when visiting the medical center. It's clean, close enough to Rice Village for something to do, and the price is reasonable. I would recommend this hotel for business & leisure travelers. Always consistent.

Lawn has been neglected with bare dirt & cigarette butts.
Carpet was absolutely filthy - I would rather have bare, clean concrete.
Awoken at 4:30 a.m. by fire alarm. No fire. Could not go back to sleep. Since we were there for medical reasons, made for a long exhausting day.
Checking in, only one attendant with 4-5 customers, made for a long wait.

declining area, lots of street people hang around. No real upkeep of the property and room was dingy. TV did not work properly and bed sheets looked old. Would not stay again. The free breakfast is a joke. I microwaved instant oatmeal with a styrofoam bowl and melted the bowl after just 2 minutes.

Hotel is in a very accessible location, we never had to fight traffic getting in or out. very close to food and shopping. Friendly staff . Room was very clean ,and bed very comfortable. I've yet to have a bad stay at a comfort suites. Hotel apparently offers discounts to people being treated at medical center as well.

New Year's Bowl Game

My girlfriend and I were in Houston to attend the Meineke Car Care Bowl on New Year's Eve. We arrived on the day before and were pleased to find that our reservation was complete, and the key cards to our room were already imprinted and attached to our reservation. It took only a couple of minutes to complete our check-in. The proximity to Reliant Stadium could not have been better. We were able to leave our car parked at the hotel (instead of paying a ridiculous $30 parking fee at the stadium) and walk to the game. The room seemed clean enough, but the air/heat unit proved a little difficult to get the right temperature setting, and it was quite noisy. There was a minor issue with the plumbing as you had to hold the handle down for the toilet to completely flush. However, the shower was excellent! The free breakfast in the morning was quite lacking, and the facilities were pretty much SRO. It was a bit of a hike to the nearest Metro stop, but not too much to handle to get into downtown for dinner and back in the evening. Though the front desk clerk seemed friendly enough, she did not appear to be well-informed about the immediate area. When we asked her for recommendations for nearby restaurants and directions to the Metro stop, she could not give us any information for either. For the price, we felt like it was an overall good value for a one-night stay, and you couldn't beat the convenience for attending an event at Reliant Stadium. I would probably recommend this place to a friend.

The room was clean and quiet. The kitchen allowed us to prepare most of our meals which saved time and money. We usually try to stay there when we have business at Reliant Center.

The hotel is in the neighborhood where I grew up. The hotel is currently being remodeled but I still enjoyed my stay. The front desk person allowed me to check in early and that was very kind of her. Public transportation is near... bus and train both. My room was much larger than I expected and I enjoyed that very much. I plan on staying here again. The coffee and newspapers in the morning were just great.

This hotel has a fantastic location, only a couple miles from the museum district and the zoo. The room was clean and had much more than we were expecting for the price (mini kitchen with fridge, stove, even pots & pans!). When you look for cheaper hotels, you have to expect that the rooms will not be quite as nice as 5 star, fancy hotels. But if you want a place to stay that's conveniently located and is clean & comfortable, this is definitely the place.

I found the room clean, the staff friendly and accomodating. It did get a bit noisy on Friday evening, but nothing to actually complain about. I would stay there again on my next trip to Houston.

Admittedly, we were staying here because our preferred hotels were booked for the rodeo. Some of the structure is crumbling. My wife wouldn't walk barefoot on the carpet. This is a very basic hotel.

Nice night for the price!

Our purpose in Houston involved being at a nearby hospital. The convenience of the hotel to that area was very nice. The shuttle service was great. The room was fine - decor didn't match, but that was okay. The only real negative was the sticky floor. The carpet appeared clean, though. Only the hard surface was sticky. It was better than our previous stay in the area.

Location to the Medical Center was most important to me when registering. However, the conveniece was overplayed by the attentive staff to my needs and I was most impressed by their accommodating my visits to the clinic and hospital and their patience. I will definitely return to stay there again!
