The staff was excellent and non-intrusive. The room was clean, but mine did have a mild-moderate aroma of cigarettes.
Overall the experience was great though and I'd stay here again as long as they're priced significantly lower than the Hilton next door. The room included free Wi-Fi and a good flat screen TV. The thermostat control for the air conditioning was perfect, and very fine changes could be made if desired. The king size bed was comfortable and clean.

Good but could be better

The room setup was excellent. I enjoyed the home feel to it. The kitchenette was a good.
However, I found one bug which almost ruined my stay but was able to get over it later. The hotel seem be undergoing renovation. Some loose ends needs to be tidied up. Pay attention to details. Pay close attention to towels and face cloths.
In all it was a pleasant stay with the free wifi ( a big plus), real breakfast and newspaper.
I enjoyed my stay.

Nice Stay at Westin in Houston

My short 2 night stay at the Westin in Houston was pleasant and comfortable. The hotel had been recommended by a co-worker who travels to Houston often and I am glad I listened. The hotel is new so it is very clean. The staff is very friendly and welcoming without being cheesy. The rooms are large, comfortable and quiet (you do not hear any noise from the neighboring room). The hotel is located in a nice part of Houston with plenty of restaurants just a short drive away. There is also a cafe in the hotel on the third floor which serves Starbucks coffee and breakfast, which is great as you run out the door for work.
The only negative experience I had at the hotel was at their restaurant, where the food was rather disappointing especially at that price point.

the restaurant was great, and the beds were excellent but the room was for handicap so we had trouble with the shower. The phones wasn't working and the bell boys service wasn't great also. I didn't recommend this hotel for the price.

The location of this hotel was good, but the quality wasnt that great. The pillows weren't that comfortable and we found a cockroach our first night. The cable for the tv was messed up for a good 3-4 hours or so and we couldn't watch tv.

The price was reasonable but the room had a lot to be desired. The water pipes popped and knocked all night (had to wear earplugs just to sleep), the springs in the bed poked through, and maid service was always forgetting to replace something. They also only had one ice machine for the whole motel (both floors), and sometimes it did not work when you finally found it.

Decent queen size bed, large room and kitchen did not make up for the smell and roaches. There's a small dog area right next to this facility so right when you walk out your room you can smell dog poop. We got a non-smoking room but it still smelled. We only chose this motel because it had a kitchen but we ended up not using it and we're unhappy about the roach issue. Would not stay here again.

it was ok but there was roaches in two rooms that they moved us to...then the third one the burners didnt work and then there was a crickte that lived in our ac and wouldnt shut up at night.

Nice hotel....comfortable bed and close to everything in Houston including downtown and the galleria area. This is a great hotel for a weekend getaway.
