With few exceptions, I found the hotel to be quite good.
The shower left a bit to be desired, however, as it was not completely cleaned and the cold water knob was stripped. On the plus side, this made for a thoroughly hot shower that was actually quite welcome...
Otherwise, the I give the staff high praise and the continental breakfast was pleasant...

The facilities are nice, but nothing fancy looking. However, they suited my needs perfectly. Comfortable bed, good workspace, handy little kitchen. I loved that breakfast and a light dinner are included. Although the food isn't great, it does the trick. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful. I think this was a very good deal for what was offered.

We enjoyed our overnight stays to and from Aruba in Houston with the Hyatt Place. Some difficulty getting the shuttle at the airport, but once we arrived at the hotel were very pleased with the room and facility. Would recommend and stay again.

Overall an amazing stay. The staff was friendly, rooms were nice, and the location was amazing. What was really nice was the jiant touch-screen tv by the entrance where you could find places to eat, shop, visit, etc. and if you needed the phone number or addres it would trext it to you. The only bummer was that our room did not have a fridge.

The hotel was nice, but room was smaller than I expected. The bathroom was smaller than a Motel 6. It was quiet, and the room was clean. They had free WiFi, which was nice! The bed was not that comfortable to me...yet the pillows were great! Also, the location of the hotel is very strange and can be very confusing, because you get off on 610, but when you get back on your on 290. All in all, it was not a bad stay.

Stayed here for two nights during the holidays. Beautiful hotel! Checked in on Christmas Eve, but the concierge gave me trouble. She wasn't completely aware about my reservation information and didn't know the policy regarding age requirement to book a room. (I'm 20, she told me you have to be 21, but it clearly says on their website adults are 18+).
Otherwise comfy and beautiful rooms. Had a pretty view of all the lights out the window. Would definitely stay here again.

I enjoyed my stay at Aloft it is 1 blk from Galleria, walking distance. The staff was nice and helpful, my room clean and the hotel had a chic modern feel to it, different from other places. The free Internet and fairly inexpensive self parking (12.00 a day and I had two vehicles) was well worth they stay!

The hotel was great but the staff was awesome! Michael, at the Voice, was excellent. The voice will be the reason we come back next month!! Professional, courteous, helpful, but not in your face. My wife and I really enjoyed our stay and this will be our Downtown Hotel from now on!
The Hotel did not get a perfect rating, because no one is perfect.....but that are really close!

Pros-The rooms were more than I had expected very nice furniture and I didn't notice until the second day that they had three pillows of all different kinds. Soft and fluffy, one of a firmer pillow, and then the third was I nice big body pillow. The was very clean and not disgusting.
Cons-The breakfast was horrible. They had very not so polite staff. Those are my only complaints.

My two daughters and I stayed one night before a gymnastics competition. The room was extremely comfortable and the breakfast was excellent. Didn't like having to pay for parking and the pool was very small.

This hotel has been booked by us before and it lived up to the previous expectations. Because we were staying longer we asked for a "microfrige". This cost $10 extra per day but when delivered it was not set to the appropriate temperature. The items we stored in the refrigerator froze and the microwave burned our popcorn. We recommend staying at this hotel but don't ask for anything extra.

Was there on business trip, so in fairness I didn't get to spend all that much time at hotel. However, staff was extremely personable and I enjoyed the bar/restaurant located in the hotel. I also thought the room was nicely decorated, comfortable, and really liked the bed (hotel beds not always so great).

I was quite skeptical driving up to the Howard Johnson because it looked a little sketchy and slightly out of date but the inside was just fine. It was no different than any other hotel I have stayed in and it was very cheap. I was pleased with staying there. The continental breakfast was good as well. The trucks pulling up to the gas station next door make quite a lot of noise in the morning that woke me up a lot. That would be my only complaint.

i needed to stay overnight to catch a flight early in the morning. The attention was great, the hotel shutle picked me up at the airport shortly after my call and took me back for the flight at 5:00 am sharp. The room was clean and it had wi-fi. The hotel is a 10 minutes drive from the airport, has a couple of convenient stores at a walking distance and the price is right; very good overall value.

Large room with spacious dressing/bathroom area. Put our baby in a crib in the connected living room and spent the rest of the night in our room watching tv and on our laptop. Couch had a hide-a-way bed that we didnt use, and the couch itself was old and terribly uncomfortable. It didn't meet the standard of the rest of the room, but it didn't bother our stay. Easy to find, right off the freeway. Huge room at the price of other hotels single small rooms. Great deal overall, very pleased.

Great value for the price

Clean rooms. Spacious bed. Attentive staff. Everything appears new and / or well maintained. Only worry was the airport shuttle. It was always running 10 to 15 minutes behind schedule. If you have business in central Houston, it makes sense to stay here and ride the $4.50 Metro Direct bus. The alternative will cost you a lot more in hotels and transportation

reasonable hotel with GREAT location

I did not take the trip myself, but ordered the room for my nephews. They said the hotel was not fancy, but it was clean and met their needs. What they were excited about was the location. The hotel was easy to get to and close to some really reasonable and good places to eat and fun things to do. They said they would stay there again because of the location to everything alone.

Very Nice Hotel

My wife and I stayed here 5 nights while we were in Houston for appointments at the medical center. The room was very big and clean. There was a slight odor of mustiness but not bad. The pool and hot tub were awesome and the staff was very friendly. We will be back.

Nice hotel, but bring your own breakfast

This is my second time staying at this hotel. During my last visit, about a year ago, the lobby was undergoing renovations. Now it is finished. Overall I was pleased, and here is a rundown.
PROS:
1. Well, the new lobby/lounge area is quite nice.
2. Amenities such as pool, exercise room, etc were well maintained.
3. The room was comfortable and staff was polite.
4. They offer free wireless internet.
CONS:
1. With the new lobby/lounge area, there is no free continental breakfast such as most hotels in this chain provide. Instead, there is Starbucks coffee and food may be paid for in cash or charged to the room.
2. The pool, though nice, is small. it is located in a central courtyard, which makes it secure, but also means that it is visible to half the rooms in the hotel.
3. Like most hotels, they do not offer SECURE internet access. All access to online services, gaming or business networks are over an unsecured wireless network, and therefore potentially open to prying eyes from any other hotel resident. (or even someone parked nearby with a wireless laptop.) I have this complaint about many hotels, and usually take my CLEAR cellular internet hotspot with me, however I was not able to get an adequate signal at this location.
Overall, I liked this hotel, but I may try to find a more secure location next time, and I would prefer one with a free continental breakfast for those days I don't feel like going out for breakfast.

Nicely decorated lobby, very nice, clean, quiet and comfortable room. I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the room for the money.
