Key West Hotels
Jimmy Buffett, Ernest Hemingway, US military history and snorkeling. Visitors at hotels in Key West say this small city have everything they need for a great vacation. From small bed and breakfasts to large luxury resorts that made this city a "go to" place in Victorian times, travelers can find accommodations for every taste and budget. While there, they can view the ruins of Fort Zachary Taylor, go deep-sea fishing, or dive under the blue water to check out the sea life. If visitors prefer to stay dry, there are many beaches to spend the day catching sun.
Neighborhoods
Key West is loosely divided into Old Town and New Town (defined as "anything that isn't Old Town"). For the most part, New Town for tourists consists of the beaches within the area, the East Martello Museum, and Charterboat Row. Old Town is the historic district, where old buildings sit right next to new ones. The traffic moves slowly in Old Town, and it's sub-divided into Solares Hill, Bahama Village, and Duval Street. Most of the touristy places are located within the loose boundaries of Old Town and this is where the famous the Hemingway House lies. Right in the heart of Old Town is the Orchid Key Inn, a hotel with waterfall gardens, a hot tub, swimming pool, and modern seasonal cocktails. Nearby, the night-life on Duval Street and the southern beaches beckon. For those visitors seeking less modern accommodations can stay at the Key Lime Inn nearby, with a place on the National Register and old-fashioned rooms. Wherever a guest in Key West hotels stays, they are sure to be just a few miles at the most from all the fun watersports and history they could want.
