What can I say? It's a clean, well-run big hotel. I've got no complaints about the rooms or the amenities. It's not necessarily the cheapest option but it's not bad at all.

Went to attend an event at the Frank Erwin Center, and dinner and drinks on 6th street--great location, comfortable beds, excellent staff! A shuttle service would have been an added bonus, but they don't offer one. Taxis are easy to get and the staff was eager to assist with all of our needs.

From the moment we walked in the staff took good care of us and were very helpful. They had to downgrade our room a little but compensated us over and above. As we got out and about we realized there was so much to do within walking distance (1mile) of the hotel. It was nice that for most of the weekend we left our car parked and enjoyed the cool breeze and a walk. I would recommend this hotel to a friend, we had a good experience.

The location is fairly central but not pretty (concrete and cars), and tricky to find from the highway (exits), but you can't beat the value - price for a comfortable, clean hotel, great breakfast, complimentary newspapers and afternoon snacks. Room was very good, clean. My only quibble was that twice my room card (former a key...) didn't work and I had to go back to the desk and have them reprogram it.

Romantic Weekend Trip

  • Colby Apps
  • Oct 4, 2012
We stayed at the Casulo for a few days for a wedding. The hotel had a asian theme to which the designers pulled off very well. The bar server was very nice and helpful about the local scene. The rooms very clean yet a bit small. However, the bathroom was huge with a full size tub and walk in shower. The bathroom was just about the same size of the bed area! The hotel is easy to find since it sits right on i35 and is about 5 mns away from 6th street and downtown. If you're looking for a romantic weekend with that special someone, or just to party and relax with friends, this is the place.

Be careful who you book your trip through

  • Jerusalem Junkie

I had no idea that when I book through the web the hotel does not allow rewards on the stay. The few dollar a day difference on the rate was niot worth losing 4 nights of rewards towards a free stay. Sorry- won't be a returning customer to your website. I would stay at the hotel again though.

Staycation

  • Obachan
  • Aug 4, 2012
My husband and I spent one night at The Hyatt for a staycation. (We are local residents.) The staff that greeted us was top notch. Upon entering our room, I needed to use the toilet and noticed that the water in the toilet bowl was cloudy. Before using I flushed. The water only swirled but did not leave the bowl. When I called to report it, I was asked if I would like to have someone sent to fix it. I requested a new room with a working toilet. We were moved down the hall. I am sure the room was excellent without that problem. The new room was excellent. We were surprised to find that we would be charged to use wifi. We have stayed in modest motels in small towns which offered free wifi. It seems kind of cheap to charge for such widely used technology. We were also surprised to find there was a nightly charge for parking. Really? The room was located on the west side, and it never seemed really cool all night long, even though I set the thermostat on 70. (At my own home I have the thermostat on 76 at night.) I used only a sheet to cover all night. The breakfast buffet was delicious, and the restaurant service was excellent. We spent time on South Congress, eating in an excellent restaurant and checking out shops. We were glad to be nearby. We also enjoyed a play at The City Theater. It was an overall nice experience. I would only recommend this hotel if there was a special rate.

Convenient location...if you need to be near the airport. Traffic in the evening to get back out to the hotel after spending the day in and around Austin can be congested - but Austin has seriously outgrown its infrastructure. Clean room. Nice smelling hotel (totally non-smoking) and breakfast thrown in made it a good value. Glad we stayed at this hotel.

  • Oct 8, 2012
The hotel was very quiet, cozy and welcoming. Employees of the hotel were friendly, helpful and accommodating. The interior of the hotel was very nice and decorated in elegant Texas style furnishings. Austin is a wonderful city and this hotel was an extension of the Texas hospitality found here. I would stay at this hotel again and would recommend it to others.

Visiting my daughter at UT

  • Longhorn Mom
  • Nov 4, 2011
This is a terrific hotel for parents visiting their kids at UT. It's only minutes from the campus and easy to get to. The room I stayed in had a nice feel -- only unusual feature was the sink was in the main room and not the bath but it wasn't too disconcerting. A couple of things: they tried to charge me for parking but the website indicates parking is free. The front desk said they were changing their policies but were very nice about not charging me. Secondly, since it is close to UT living quarters, be prepared for loud music if you are visiting on a big party weekend as I was (Halloween). I would definitely return.

The room is clean and roomy. We watched a movie with a cup of decaffeinated coffee, it's relaxed and comfortable. My boyfriend and I both think it's a good hotel that we will come back next time. The only defect is the breakfast. The space and foods were not enough for all the hotel guests at one time.

A wonderful experience with only minor drawbacks

  • Cyrce
  • Aug 18, 2012
My husband and I stayed for 4 nights in July and very much enjoyed the hotel. The room was lovely as were the public spaces and the pool. The room was small but that wasn't really an issue. A tougher challenge was that it was lacking in storage space. Still we very much enjoyed the styling and it was comfortable overall although the bed seemed possibly a bit saggy on one side. The staff was great with the exception of one waitress at the bar. The concierge was especially accommodating to go and pick up my phone when I had left it at a restaurant so that we wouldn't have to take a cab. Also they did their best to accommodate my husband's sinus infection by changing the air filter and bringing him helpful items. The whole place is wonderful to look at and the gym/locker rooms were very nice as well. The cost of parking is silly but there is a public garage just south of the hotel where you can pay 1/3 of that cost. The only other thing that was extremely frustrating was the wifi options. $15 per day would be tolerable but $15 per day per device (i.e. one for me, one for my husband, and still can't use it for our phones) is just ridiculous. We ended up just using the wifi in the public areas but it was quite frustrating at times and not at all consistent with the image of the W as a modern and well-appointed hotel. The location is fantastic - an easy walk to many dining locations, 6th, and the bat bridge. Our favorite meals were at Uchi (wow) and The Shady Grove (the green chili fried chicken was excellent as was the pulled pork sandwich).

I usually stay in "fancier" brand hotels but thought I'd take a chance on this one because of good reviews and price. I have no reservations about this hotel at all. Room was clean and on par with other more expensive hotel brands. Staff is top notch. Loved the added amenities like free movies, a dvd player in the room, a free book library, snacks in the room, ceiling fan, and a message chair in the lobby. All in all, I had a great stay and will be back.

I can't get the program to rate last four items. I would give them, 4stars, 4stars, 4 stars, five stars. The Radisson is showing its age! The bathroom is hardly larger then a small closet, there is no kleenex,. the coat closet is no more than adequate. However, there is at least a week's worth of towels on hand, the shower is first rate, the bed very comfortable, the TV choices super(!),and the room itself is huge. I would very happily stay there again. And the price is certainly right. Overall I have no regrets.

Overall pretty happy

  • StudentResearch
  • Dec 20, 2012
Everything about the hotel was great it was just pretty isolated. Based on the description I thought it would be closer to the city - and attractions or places to walk outside of the premises of the hotel - but there weren't. It was a short 15 minutes drive to downtown Austin and everything else was good. Based on the name Wyndham I thought I would be getting a little bit more for my money (style of room, food options, etc) but it was great otherwise. Thanks, Wyndham

Just came up to Austin from San Antonio for just some general partying on 6th St. Booked this hotel as it seemed to have the perfect value of price, location, and comfort. This hotel exceeding every one of my expectations. Catching a cab to and from downtown was extremely easy because of the location, and the room rate definitely did not break the bank. I will continue to choose the Wyndham Garden each and every time I come back to Austin, TX.

The staff was very polite and helpful with directions. The room was clean and they allowed us to check in early. The only problem we had was we could hear every single sound that was made outside our room. The occupants in the next room was in and out of their room most of the night, so we didn't get much sleep.

Disappointing for Sure

  • Kelly Ann
  • May 7, 2012
We were so excited to stay at THE FOUR SEASONS! We paid more for the room than we have ever paid a night anywhere. What a mistake. The room was so average and outdated. The bathroom was soo small with a Tub shower. Service poolside was slow. Is there anything worse than having to flag down or go find your waiter everytime you need something? Then they add in 20% gratuity automatically. The location and outside landscape was beautiful. This hotel needs an update.

4 Seasons is 4 Suckers

  • el golfo
  • Aug 24, 2010
DO NOT book this 4 Seasons! Stay at the Hilton (yes, I know it is hard to believe but TRUE here) for 1/2 the price and double the value. Better (rooftop) pool and FULL Health Club, better restaurants and adjacent to swinging 6th Street. I am shocked that 4 Seasons has not yanked the franchise for this VERY modest property (not the usual 4 Seasons elegance). Trust me, probably the only city on Earth where mediocre Hilton totally outclasses 4 Seasons.

Good location to take in nightlife on 6th St. It's not a resort so there are no special amenities like workout facilities or a pool. However, the room was clean (despite some ants in the bathroom) and comfortable and the staff is friendly. The walls and floor are not soundproof so you may hear those next door or above.

Went with the family on their spring break. This place really is great. it has a great pool, mini golf, fitness center and spa. It has everything, but the services that are not included are NOT inexpensive. That being said Austin has tons of affordable places to eat and activities to enjoy and the resort is accessible to town with a car. We enjoyed tennis and golf lessons on site and ate off site for all, but one meal.
