I chose this hotel based on the reviews I read online. It is in a great location; very close to the interstate. The entire staff is very pleasant, polite and accommodating. My room was very clean and quiet. My bed was actually very comfortable and the continental breakfast was decent. I will absolutely stay at this hotel again the next time I am in Knoxville. Way to go Country Inn & Suites!

do not understand how there can be a humongous water slide inside the hotel but no mini fridge or microwave in room and only one ice machine . must be new hotel external light on street did not work hard to find in dark. not sure who they are trying to service

Hotel was new so cleanliness was not a problem. The toilet was not bolted to the floor well and shifted every time someone used it. No trashcan in the room and no stopper in tub so had to shower vs. taking a bath. Lastly, no channel guide for TV. Great location and friendly staff.

Decent Hotel, Very Reasonable

This is a clean, decent place to stay for short trips. It has all the basic amenities, comfortable bed, and breakfast in the morning. It is very close to the interstate, mall, and restaurants. Really my only complaint is you can hear everyone coming and going from their rooms. I would stay here again.

I just stayed overnight because of a really early Dr appt the next morning. The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The room was clean enough, the bathroom could have used a good sweeping. The only issue I had was apparently Knoxville recently had bad storm damage and a roofing company was using the hotel for their workers and there were A LOT of men just hanging around the outside of the rooms. It was just my mom and I(two women) and it really made me uncomfortable to have to walk through all those men to get back and forth to my room.

We were impressed at how clean and quiet and restful the hotel was. Everyone was very friendly.
The only items not available was a breakfast bar. They had a coffee set up of different kinds...but no food.
Still, I will return when heading through the Knowville area

We traveled to Knoxville for UT's Homecoming weekend. The hotel was pretty run-down and our room (a non smoking room) smelled like old cigarettes and take out food. We immediately went to the store for air freshener to make the smell more bearable. However, the continental breakfast offered a good selection of cereals, muffins, English muffins, toast, and donuts. The location was convenient, and for the price it is what you would expect.

This hotel is located close to the University of Tennessee Campus which is what I was looking for. It was also very easy to get to. I was in town to attend UT's Orientation with my daughter. I had actually stayed at this same hotel 3 years earlier when I attended orientation with my son. The room was spacious and clean. Great value for the price.

Overnite stay in Knoxville, just needed a bed and shower. Did not expect/need a kitchenette. No-frills hotel: No lobby, no breakfast, and no soap/shampoo provided which I was counting on - big mistake!
Room was clean, bed average, service nice. Was told by attendant to turn TV on for 10min so it could warm up!
Location was good - right off the Interstate 40 next to many good restaurants/sports bars.

You can see that they attempted to spruce it up a little, but it still comes off as a dump. Perfect for fraternity parties and game days, but not for family or business travel. No breakfast, must pay for wi-fi and no hair dryer in rooms. But hey, you get what you pay for.

Very Clean But Needs Remodeling!

We stayed at Magnuson Hotel after a UT football game. I was impressed with how clean the room and bathroom were. I noticed a lot of work that needs to be done--wallpaper peeling, carpet tore in a couple of spots. The bed wasn't very comfortable--They need to replace the mattresses. The hotel is in a very good location--close to the interstate and near lots of shopping places and restaurants. It's not luxurious, but it will do for a short stay.

A simple overnight stay to attend a Saturday evening wedding. Location was convenient both to Interstate 40 and to wedding site. Breakfast the next morning was good start for the day. No complaints at all.

This was my second stay here, and really, just because they have big LCD TV's that I can HDMI my laptop into. You really need that because they only have about 30 channels. The rooms smell like they are trying to hide the dirt instead of actually cleaning the dirt. The beds are comfortable enough, and they do look/smell/feel clean. They have a lot of pillows, which is also a plus. I still don't know where the ice machine is--there should be something in the room that shows the vending and ice machines, but I couldn't find it. The refrigerator was dirty, but not bad. everything was clean enough for me to stay, but not clean enough for me not to wonder if they'd actually cleaned between guests. I think I had the room just next to the housekeeping closet, because there was a constant train of very loud carts going by my room, and usually loud discussions. overall, not bad, but not good either.

Trip to Knoxville was to visit historic places for school project. Hotel was convenient but very dimly lit at night and the beds were extremely hard and uncomfortable. Breakfast was $10 person in hotel restaurant and most hotels now have free continental breakfast. Would choose different hotel for same price next trip.

Room was not stocked properly with towles, and other stuff like shampoo and soap. Had to go to front desk dailey for enough towles. Upon check out at 4am I left my cell phone in room. When I called to have them check, they said they went to room and no phone was found. Next day we called housekeeping they said no phone reported, at that time. Later that same day phone was found by housekeeping. Manager of housekeeping said she would mail at our expense. The nex day called and she had not mailed phone. We called a friend in Knoxville to pick phone up at desk, informed hotel would be there at 6pm to pick up phone and had to wait another 20 min for phone to be brought to desk. Left me felling as if someone was going to steel my cell phone.

The hotel is located in an area that we did not feel unsafe and is convenient to restaurant's, shopping and other entertainment. The room was clean and comfortable. Smoke-sensitive individuals beware!

The front desk service was courteous and quick. When we got to our room (a non-smoking room on a non-smoking floor, supposedly), it appeared very clean and orderly but smelled strongly of smoke. We called the front desk operator, who assured me the room is and always has been non-smoking. He claimed that the smoke from the 3rd floor could sometimes travel through the vents to the 2nd floor, where we were staying. He said he couldn't transfer us to another room because the hotel was completely full. That night I was coughing and had trouble breathing due to the smokiness of the room. Other than that, the hotel was fine. I just thought that those who are sensitive to smoke should be aware of this.

Just an overnite stay on way to Nashville. It was pricey for what you got for the room. No microwave and a musty smelling in room. Didn't help with a dog in the next room barking when a noise was made outside. Have stayed at better places for less the cost paid for this one nite stay.

I just needed a one night stopover and the location was convenient. The fellow who checked me in was a GREAT host and referred me to a wonderful restaurant. I felt safe and comfortable with the hotel and the area. I am a single woman traveling alone so safety if very important to me.

The Courtyard Knoxville Cedar Bluff, in Knoxville, Tennessee was a welcome rest for our busy schedule. We felt very relaxed and comfortable as we used the fitness facilities. The location is great as it is close to restaurants. We will stay there again.

[...] said it had a fitness room - NOT TRUE. Unfortunate, since this was my primary selection criteria. I only stayed one night (visiting someone at Park West Hospital). The kitchen was very usable - if you're planning a long stay you'll be able to cook fine - full size frige, stove, microwave, etc (Note - I did not notice how well the kitchen was stocked (pots, pans, etc.). Room for just two though. Only a recliner, no sofa. Room was compact, and only had about 5-6 hangers in the closet.Don't expect flat screen TVs or fancy new beds. The TV was older than me (and I ain't no spring chicken). All the diesels firing up at 6:00 AM was not fun - I was on west coast time. I slept fine on the thin, firm mattress, but most probably would not. I did not hear any TV noise - thin walls are sometimes a problem in hotels of this price range. It's a little hard to find, turn before the light & before the Big/XL Mens clothing store (If turning right from Kingston Pike). Carpet was on its last legs. Location is a little creepy. If you're traveling with the significant other - drop a few more bucks and stay somewhere off the Cedar Bluff Exit.
