Two day stay for a workshop

This is my first stay at Super 8 in many years. I found it was right in the middle of fast food row. So
if you need a quick bit it was easy. The room size was alittle on the small size but the bathroom was large and the breakfast was very good

Met up with our daughter. We took in the Pierre City Band, fireworks over the
Missouri River, Sunday Church and the Heritage Cultural Center and Museum.
Great time! It was as close to a 10 as all of our trips we have planned and enjoyed.

I booked at this hotel because somebody sent me a link to a coupon on their website that said their rooms were 20% off for the entire month of December, and the voucher had to be present when you arrived. There's no way to book online from their website, so I used [...]. When I got there, they wouldn't give me the discounted rate; not only that, but the manager talked down to me and made a big deal about how much I could have saved if I had called them directly--not what I want to hear when your advertising has been incomplete and misleading.This hotel is nothing special, but they clearly think they are. The rooms are tiny and cramped, and the heat was stifling, even though I turned it halfway down to cool. They also put little pieces of stained towels in the room with a sign that says "please use these stained but laundry clean towels to remove makeup, clean guns, etc." I can understand not wanting your guests to use the "good" towels to clean their hunting equipment, but what woman wants to clean off her makeup with a towel that has been used for that purpose? That's absolutely tacky, and it's ridiculous to me that this hotel thinks it can talk to its guests that way, as if they are really offering something so fabulous and deigning to let us stay there.To top it all off, I was woken up by a train in the morning; the hotel is right next to the tracks. And the state capitol is not "next door" as the ad describes; this place is pretty much on the edge of town. I'm sure the many other places I could have stayed in Pierre for not much extra money would have been a lot more pleasant.

We arrived about 12am and turned the air on as soon as we got there, my husband was up at 3am because our air was still not on. I decided to get up and shower to cool off, after I was dressed, we opened our door and the cool air came in from out side. It was really warm in our room. The front desk person told me there wasn't much she could do, since the maintaince guy didn't come in to 8.

We enjoyed our stay during our grandson's hockey game. The room was very clean and comfortable and we enjoyed the pool after the games. We ate breakfast before heading out for more games and it was very good and the service was wonderful--even pulled up extra chairs for the unexpected friends that joined us. We will be sure to stay there again when we are in Pierre!

We went around the Oahe Days. So it was little busy. Overall room was comfortable. We liked the bed linens. There is a walking trail nearby. I wish there was breakfast like Comfort Inn which is few block way.

The price was very reasonable but this is an OLD motel.It was definately not a place you would want to stay to be COMFORTABLE... The mattresses were very hard and the sheets were ill-fitting so that they slipped off the mattress while you tossed and turned because your back was hurting. The AC unit that was haphazardly installed allowed a great deal of very cold air into the room from underneath it. (My stay was NOT in summer and this actric blast was unwelcome and uncontrollable.) The dresser looked as though somebodys dog had been chewing on it...My two stars are for the friendly staff. Everybody who I spoke to was very kind. This motel might be ok if you are simply looking for a place to crash for a few hours and maybe bring your hunting dog along... It just isnt comfy and everything is so old and so worn that despite what Im sure have been the best efforts its just not a pleasant place.

Located within minutes of the best hunting and fishing in South Dakota at Lake Oahe and Lake Sharpe with guide service information available at the front desk. We have 14 historical sites located close by including the Oahe Dam-State Capital Building and WWII-Korea and Vietnam Memorials. The hotel offers a free River Rise Deluxe Continental Breakfast-guest computor-free Wi-Fi access in all rooms-irons and ironing boards-hair dryers-coffee pots and tea and CableTV with HBO. Some rooms do have microwave refrigerators. Microwave available in lobby. We do allow pets in the rooms at a fee. Rollaways and cribs are available. River City Transit trolley picks up and drops off every 1/2 hr at our parking lot from 6pm to 3 am every eve.

The motel was clean and quiet. The breakfast was supposed to start at 6:00 a.m., we arrived at the breakfast site early and were told we could eat early as it was all ready. My only complaint was the there seemed to be some litter outside the motel. It was a very pleasant experience.

The pool room was extremely cold--Parents sat around with pool towels on them to stay warm while the kids swam.

We woke up at 2 am and wanted to get a little exercise and coffee. The clerk directed us to the breakfast room where we talked and enjoyed the surroundings for about half an hour. Then back to bed!
