There is not anything bad about this property, however there is not anything really good, It is very average including furnishings. The bed is not up to par when compared to other property brands. The breakfast and breakfast area was good. Did not use indoor pool but without a doubt it ranks with best found in all properties in this area. I am rating this a 2 star property primarily because I have gotten much more value for same amount paid at higher rated hotel.

The location was great, close to many places. All of the staff was extremely friendly and helpful. The room was very clean. Could definitely stay there again.

Very pleasant, only problem was the pool was closed. We were there for my grandson's graduation and I book this hotel because it had an indoor pool. We were very disappointed. The pool was shocked the day before and was still closed the next day. I know when you shock a pool it only takes 8 hours. They could have shocked it at night and opened it the next day in the AM.Otherwise it was a good experience. The staff were very pleasant and helpful, a good breakfast. I would stay again and tell others they won't go wrong with this hotel.

I've stayed at this hotel several times on my annual business trip to Sumter. For this stay, and without me knowing, the staff upgraded me to a jacuzzi suite free of charge. I didn't even know this hotel had jacuzzi suites! The room was on the first floor - which I really liked - and it was clean, quiet and extremely comfortable. I'm not normally a jacuzzi kind of guy, but it was really what I needed after driving for so many hours. Breakfast is among the best I've had at other hotels. Great choice of items.

For the money, this hotel fit the budget. There were only few things wrong with the hotel: a) The air-conditioning unit was loud (louder than most hotels) and frequently kept shutting off and turning back on in the process of maintaining the proper temperature. b) The bathtub anti-slip mat did not do its job and actually slipped twice during the shower.
On the upside. The breakfast was wonderful and fresh. Staff was wonderful, despite their demeanor. For a couple of nights stay, this place should be more than enough.

We had no complaints on this hotel. The staff were courteous and polite on check-in. Due to a late reservation, we were supposed to get a handicap equipped room, but instead got a more preferable king size, non-smoking room. Room was very clean, nicely furnished, no smell of smoking and quiet. The hotel location was perfect, close to all restaurants and shopping. We really enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend and would stay there again. We are staying in another Super 8 motel this weekend!

Hotel is older and no frills! With that said it was clean and a good price for last minute planning. I would not pay higher then $65.00 for these rooms though!

Clean, Quiet Budget Hotel

Good customer service/response for very late check-ins. Good location close to food, shopping, gas, etc. Close to AFB but far enough Continental breakfast just okay. Free WIFI is a major plus. I changed rooms after arrival and at staff suggestion even though problems were minor. Moved from double to king suite. Both rooms were clean and bedroom bed setups were a nice touch. Minor issues during stay included: noisy air/heat unit, very noticeable peeling wallpaper, no "Do Not Disturb" sign, noisy bathroom light/fan, TV remote missing back cover, chair to desk missing (staff delivered chair within 10m of request), and shower leaked behind shower wall when shower was on. Most annoying/disappointing: Maintenance banged on door before it was time for me to checkout to supposedly inquire about a curtain rod (non emergency which could have waited until I checked out of the room) and Housekeeping entered room without knocking and before it was time for me to checkout. Maintenance and upkeep could use attention and would certainly have made a difference in my rating. Overall the stay was quiet, the room and bathroom were clean, the location was good, I felt safe, and customer service/response was good. Decent and inexpensive for a short 1-2 day stay.

If it would have been a non-smoking hotel it would have been a much more pleasant stay. However, with that said - the staff met my needs, the breakfast had a good selection.
Location was decent for what you needed.
Was put in a smoking room-even though requested non - so that was pretty unbearable.

The information page said there was an indoor pool. The hotel next to the sleep in is a partner hotel and you have to walk across the parking lot to use the indoor pool. I've stayed in a couple hotels in Sumter and holiday inn express was the best one yet.

Was very disappointed by the fact that we had to request housekeeping upon check in to clean the bathroom- the toilet was filthy, there was trash left in the bathroom trashcan from the previous guests. The bed was was too soft- felt like I was sleeping in qicksand. The fact that they are an extended stay and not a "hotel" really disappointed us with the fact that they do not have breakfast- although we were informed that we were welcome to cross the street and eat at their sister hotel. Will not be staying at this "extended stay" facility in the future as long as one of the other hotels have a vacancy.

The Econo Lodge hotel is in downtown Sumter across the street from Tuomey Regional Medical Center and within walking distance to the post office, great southern restaurants, banks, pharmacies and Main Street shops. Baseball and tennis facilities are close by. Hotel amenities and features includ free continental breakfast, free wireless high-speed Internet access and an outdoor pool. Guest rooms include coffee makers, microwaves, refrigerators and cable television with 64 channels. This is a pet-friendly hotel.

They were expecting me! All documents were ready for signature and I was escorted to my room by a friendly employee. The location was good- out of the hustle and bustle of Broad Street etension and near the museum, park, and Swan Lake. Most nights I retuned after 11 pm and there were no safety issues. Breakfast was served daily from 6 am - 9 am. Skip the cold grits and eggs and go straight to the cereal bar if you get there after 8 am.
I will visit again.

Eh, the room I stayed in was pretty average as far as a hotel goes. It's decent for a one night layover, but not for much more. There are a few restaurants within a couple of miles, but not much more.
