The hotel was in a good location, close to shopping in Spartinburg and Gaffney. Room was neat some miscommunication left me with an unmade bed, but overall for a last minute stay it was well worth it.

The trip was made by me and my husband and the purpose was to visit family. The hotel was well worth the price we paid. [...] We would not have paid the original price for the rooms.The special commodities were nice, but did not look new. They had a stove, sink, dishes, silverware, and a drying rack. The even provided dish soap. Everything else was typical hotel commodities, towels, TV, dresser, night stand, paper products, etc. The also clean the rooms every day.The location was both good and bad. It was a convenient location to family, interstate, and restaurants. However, the location is not ideal in terms of the nearby neighborhoods. My father's house is hardly five minutes from the hotel and so I know they aren't the best neighborhoods. We woke up each morning with people yelling outside.My main complaints however would be that although we were in a non-smoking room there was a cigarette burn in the comforter and they did not provide shampoo. Shampoo was a problem in that we didn't bring any because we assumed the hotel would provide it.The people that worked in the office were friendly, however, and we would overall say that we enjoyed our stay.

Good place to say for business stuff

I have stayed at this hotel several different times for business. It has been a good place to say so I keep returning. Its location is ideal to interstates and downtown Spartanburg. The beds are always comfortable and even the pillows are good! Its also nice that the wireless internet always works. The complimentary breakfast is also a nice.

Just looking for a place to stop on the way home from Myrtle Beach, so our needs were not complicated. The hotel lobby was clean and well lit, the staff was pleasant, the room was large and clean with a mini refrigerator and microwave. The continental breakfast was a bit skimpy (no cereals, fruit or yogurt), but did have make your own waffles. The pool was outdoors and closed for our visit.

Was planning to enjoy a quick night and great breakfast while on a road trip. Room layout is very nice. Room and kitchen are well-appointed. Not many choices on the TV - no TV Guide or full-time Weather Channels. Time for bed - matress is like something you expect on a hide-a-bed! Didn't sleep well and was tempted to find a Wal-Mart to purchase an inflatable bed and pump. Wireless Internet access very good in all areas of room that I tried. Of course - breakfast was great ... except no potatoes. Gas station nearby made it a quick get-a-way to continue travel.

My husband & I had a very pleasant stay @ this Residence Inn. Granite counter tops, stainless steel appliances, and a glass cook top, and a nice sized room were among the things we liked. On the negative side, there were very limited choices on the cable provided by the hotel, and the hotel staff seemed to be very nonchalant.

Just an adequate overnight stop while on the road. Breakfast was marginal, no fruit or hot food or much choice, and no decaf coffee until we requested it, they refused, we asked again, and waited while they made some. Did not use any other amenities to judge. Rooms are older looking and well used, but seemed clean and comfortable. Sheets ad pad came up off bed during night--could use some fitted ones!

The hotel is centrally located in downtown Spartanburg. It was convenient to shops, restaurants and churches. We stayed at this hotel because it was only about 10 minutes away from my husband's family home where the Christmas family dinner was held.
We arrived on Christmas Eve and the hotel was operating on a skeleton staff, but the staff was so efficient and ready to assist in any way they could. Our room was very clean and the bathroom was fairly large to my surprise.
I recommend Spartanburg Marriott at Renaissance Park, and definitely will return to this hotel in the future visits.

OMG - This was a scary place. Broken down cars in the parking lot that had not been licensed since 2005. Questionable long term cliental. The rooms were dirty and maldororous. This hotel was sold as similar to a Days Inn or a Holiday Inn Express and it is not even close. Even though this was prepaid business travel, my co-worker and I went down the street and checked in to the Marriott where we could feel clean and safe. [...]

Good new hotel, room was clean, staff very nice. I was the 'guest of the day' so I got upgraded to a room with a microwave and fridge. There were very few people staying in the hotel based on its size which does not matter to me but interesting to note. Also, there was not too much to do right around there, you would have to go down to Spartinburg or Greenville.

The best thing about this hotel is the check in. Very, Very fast. First room we were in toilet did not flush. Had to get transfered to another room. This room was not much better. Still had problems with the plumming. This hotel may have been recently remodeled but they should have put new mattresses in the rooms. Very uncomfortable. Woke up on Sunday and could barely move, back was so sore!!! Would not recommend and will not stay here again.!!

Hotel was average. The carpet was wet as if there had been a flood. The smell from the wet carpet was aweful. I stayed three days and the room smelled of wet carpet everyday. I was concerned with mold. The AC was missing a cover, therefore it was exposed. The location was far from anything. The room itself was clean. The decor was bad. I would not return based upon the smell alone.

The room at the Country Hearth Inn was clean, but bathroom needed more update. First morning there, the bottom of tub was so flexible, I had to hang on to safety bar and then the whole floor was wet getting out of shower. They fixed the tub & was better next morning. Restaurant was a joke. They gave ticket for breakfast, I just wanted hot tea to take to my room & he wouldn't let me leave restaurant with cup & didn't have foam cups. Next day they didn't even have tea bags, they ran out morning before. Don't you think if you ran out of something you would make sure you picked some up for the next day??? Lobby & pool area was very poorly lite. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone or return myself.

I checked in and the staff were efficient but when I was through and asked for someplace to eat, the only option I was given was the hotel restaurant. They didn't even want to hear that I wanted something different then what the restaurant offered. Also when I went to the room it seemed dingy and smelled like cigarette smoke even though it was supposed to be smoke free. The fitness center consisted of 3 treadmills, that's it!!

This was just an overnight stop. The rooms need to be upgraded to include microwave, frig, coffee.
My major complaint - a wake-up at midnight that I did not solicit. Very bad!

We arrived way earlier that expected and they were awesome, they let us check in at 9:00 in the morning. Printed out directions for us and even let me use their computer to look some stuff up. Breakfast was very small but still was enough to hold us over until lunch. Room was clean looking and smelling, not very sound proof though. Over all a great stay!
