I believe the Ramada was a wonderful hotel at one time. However, it is a little run down now. It definitely needs some updating to compete with the various, newer hotels in the area.

The Wingate in Florence provides rooms that are spacious, clean, well kept, and comfortable. The bed was large and comfortable and I got a good sleep. The staff was friendly, courteous, and helpful. It's a good place to stay on the drive south on I-95.

It was easy to find, the room and hotel were newly painted and in repair, and the bed and its coverings were soft, fluffy and heavenly! Easy check in and check out. My door didn't always lock behind me so I had to keep checking it. The morning buffet was well varied and the food was good- no powdered eggs! The pool looked nice but we never got to try it out.

This hotel was great for our stay !!! The room was clean which is frequently an issue with me, the bed was comfortable and the amenities met our needs. I would highly reccommend it. Was a stop traveling from Fl. to Pa. The staff could have been a little friendlier.

Great location! Very nice place to stay. Very clean, neat, quiet, and located very close to a variety of good places to eat. Breakfast offered a selection that would suit the taste of young or old.

we were tired from a long drive. when we arrived at country inn we were able to sit back and really get some rest in before our next day of travel. the room was cool, clean and neat. the staff was friendly. the beds could have been a little softer for our taste but still allowed for a good rest

We were very pleased with the hotel. We had stayed in a Country Inns and Suites by Carlson the night before in Anderson, SC, and loved it too. So I was happy to see that the quality carried over to this location also. I will not hesitate to have us booked into this chain the next time I have the opportunity to travel. The lobby was beautifully decorated and the dining room was right off of it and spacious and lovely, with flowers on every table. Nice view out to the pool too.
The room was huge with a sofa bed for our daughter and a king bed for my husband and I. I think it was the largest room we'd had on the trip and we stayed in a Marriott and three Sheratons. This hotel wasn't as impressive on the exterior but the quality and the service was absolutely comparable to those and less expensive.

When checking into the hotel the free breakfast wasn't offered but for one day of stay. We was put into the back of the hotel, told it wasn't any king size beds left. It was hardly any one else there staying, the ones that was there stayed there as permanant resident of the hotel. The door would not open, and maintance had to be called. After talking w/ another person at the hotel they stated the same thing happened to their door. Once I entered into the room, there was numerous things broken. The bath faucet was dripping, and was poorly fixed and didn't look clean etc. Not to include the run down furniture, torn up blankets, stained chairs, or no socket covers and holes in the whole. But the worse thing was a mouse was in the room.
This was the worse hotel I have seen, granted it's not high dollar but at least it could be kept up w/ and you could at least be rodent free and have doors that operate correctly and sucure.

This is a reasonable, no-frills place to stay. The room was clean, the wi-fi worked, and the hair-dryer and TV worked, as did the heating system. The room was clean.

The stay was good, not spectacular. We went up for the NASCAR races at Darlington, so our time at the hotel was minimal. The room came with a safe and small fridge, a microwave would have come in handy for reheating food and making popcorn.

1. Convenient to I-95
Bad Points:
1. The magnetic stripe keys did not work in the locks.
2. The exterior of the buildings and walkways were badly in need of paint.
3. The bathroom sink had unlimited hot water but the shower started at luke warm and rapidly went to cold.
4. Diesel trucks running all night

We checked in after midnight, with guaranteed (already paid for) room. It was SUPPOSED to be first floor NON smoking. I guess they figured since it was so late, we weren't coming, so they gave out out room to someone else. We ended up with a smelly smoking room. The second night they got us a non smoking room, but it was pool side. There were some shady looking characters knocking at others doors, real late at night.

We sat at the pool and relaxed after our long trip. The staff was friendly and helpful. Restaurant (Applebees) was right next door, very convenient with decent food.

We were very pleased with the location. It is right next to the mall, great restaurant choices and the movie theater. Breakfast was very good. We will be sure to stay there again if we are ever in the area.

Easy to find and very convenient to the major roads and interstate. Very clean and comfortable with a nice breakfast buffet in the morning. Couldn't get much better than this.

I was just there for one night. Carpet was dirty. Heat worked great. Almost too good at times. Overall, was an enjoyable stay despite the carpet.

During race weekend hotels are expensive and this was no exception. For race weekend it was better than some. The front staff was friendly, the room was reasonably clean. I would warn that the water coming from the sink faucet was hot enough to sterilize.

Very unpleasent and slow checkin, many rooms with heavy smoke odore even the socalled non-smoking room. Set as several buildigs and we could not find parking next to the building we stayed in. Never saw the main entrance because checkin was from outside through a small window (I suppose they have security concerns about their staff but not so for their guests).

STAINS and HAIR--NOT a clean property

The hotel was conveniently located off of I-95 and that was the best part of this hotel. When I checked in, the front desk clerk asked if I wanted smoking or non-smoking. I told her non-smoking. When I went to my room, it smelled of smoke and had ashtrays in the room. I returned to the front desk and asked her for another non-smoking room. She argued and said you asked for a smoking room. The 2nd room was stuffy and the air was not turned on. I pulled back the sheets and they were stained and had hair on it. The "friendly" front desk clerk asked me to bring the sheets down to her since she didn't have time to change the sheets for us. She said she'd give us sheets to put on ourselves. She asked to see the stain. We pointed it out to her and she said "That's only on the side." After putting the replacement sheets on the bed, we wanted to take a clean shower. No such thing there either. The tub had hair in it and so the towels. Although check-out was 11:00 am, the cleaning crew was knocking on all the doors between 8-9 am.

Did the Richard Petty Driving Experience at Darlington Raceway. The hotel was only 15 minutes away and convenient to resturants and shopping.

i have always been a fan of Comfort Suites but this is a nice, clean hotel with a caring staff. I will stay at this hotel on my next visit to the Florence area.
