The hotel is very nice and accessible. A lot of restaurants nearby and a 10 minute drive to the zoo and the state museum. I was a little disappointed with the breakfast bar in that the selection was not great, but it was reasonable. We stayed in a double room with 2 double beds, (for 4 people), but there were only 2 washcloths and 3 towels left in the room by housekeeping. The front desk staff quickly provided extras but you would expect the correct number of towels, etc. for the accomodations. Overall a very nice place to stay and the staff was very polite and helpful. I would recommend it to anyone coming to the Columbia area.

Easy access from highway and price was great for a 2 night stay compared to other local hotels. Hotel was close to restaurants, fast food locations, and stores. Distance from Army Base Gate was perfect, very little traffic compared to other gates. I would recommend this hotel as a great place to stay for BCT graduation, due to price and location. The staff are friendly and breakfast is free.

Hotel was nice. Perfect location for us. The only issue I had was a cold shower on Sunday Morning. I mentioned it to the front desk when I checked out and was told possibly everyone was showering at the same time and the hot water heater was 'over compensating'. Restaurant had great food and drinks !!

This is an excellent hotel in downtown Columbia. It is centrally located, near plenty of restaurants, with one of the best inside. Rooms are very clean and well apportioned.
The staff was particularly helpful, and helped us to find everything we needed in the city. Well done to the front desk staff!

We arrived into Columbia SC several hours before check-in. The staff checked and found that they had a room available. Exceptional service. Pool was nice. Room was clean and comfy. Would certainly stay again.

I went to Columbia to see my friend's basic training graduation at Ft. Jackson. The location was great, only about a 7 minute drive to the base. The hotel was extremely clean and very nice to stay in. The staff was very friendly, and was always there if I needed something. The room was spacious, and had a comfort level selecting bed, which made it very nice to sleep in.My only problem was I supposedly rented a room [...] that included a breakfast for a few extra dollars, but when I arrived at the hotel, they told me my reservation did not include the breakfast they do, since it is not included in the price of all rooms. Thankfully another person I was travelling with had an extra breakfast voucher so I did not have to pay.The breakfast was very good, and fairly extensive for a hotel. They had everything from eggs, to omelets to waffles, fresh fruit, and danishes.Overall I would definitely stay there again if in the area, but I would make sure to have breakfast included with my purchase.

The hotel was ok. Towels were scratchy but if you dont like that bring your own. It was an ok stay. The major complaint i have is the hotel is only half used. there is 2 buildings and the one they dont use is all boarded up and looks very run down. The building they do use looks half way decent. I had to defrost the fridge. It was so frozen over drinks in fridge wasnt even chilled. I have however stayed in worse but if need be I would stay in this hotel again. It is near a walmart and several gas stations and easy to get on interstates.

Good stay except ... the extra door lock

The location was good since I was only in town for my son's graduation from basic training. The room was clean and they serviced the room while I was out. I'd read that they didn't so I felt I should point out that my experience was different. Helpful staff. My luggage was delayed and they were very good about updating me. The free breakfast was typical. The waffles were hot and fresh. I would have liked a yogurt or non-wheat based cereal option because of my food allergies. There was fresh fruit so I had that and coffee. My one concern was that my door inside latch lock was broken. Since the other locks worked I didn't request another room. The hotel was booked anyway for graduation. I'd ask the hotel to please make sure all locks are in good working condition.

Went for BCT graduation. Decent hotel, not the best area. Not really much going on close around had to go to other area of town for restaurants, entertainment. The continental breakfast was a bad joke, stale donut gems!

The Staybridge Suites Hotel in Columbia, SC was very affordable. The staff was friendly. It's King Suite was very nice and spacious. Its location was close to town and sightseeing with easy access on and off of the highways.

While the hotel itself was ok it is in a location that would be described as less then picturesque. It sits right next to the highway and traffic noise is dominant. The wifi was awful so don't expect to be surfing the internet at lightspeed. Most of the time I couldn't connect and when I did the speed was slow and it took refreshing the page to get it to load. I will say it was cheap enough but there were other hotels in the area (a friend stayed at another) for very near or at the same price.

First off the motel is located on a back road but at the same time close to shopping centers. The rooms themselves were pretty small but had a fridge/microwave and an iron w/ ironing board and the bed was comfortable. Very clean hotel both inside and out. I would definitely stay there again.

The Hotel was very clean, had everything that you needed inside, and a very good price, but the walls are very thin, you can here everything that is going on in the rooms around you and all the conversation that are taking place outside, we had a horrible stay, because the fire alarm went off between 4 and 5am that morning scaring me and my kids to death, we had to hurry up and get dress and head down stairs to get out, only to met by other guess, down stairs to tell us that it was a false alarm, something to do with the waffle maker.very bad experience.

6 of us were on a business trip. We spent very little time at the hotel. From the outside, the hotel doesnt look very great, on the inside, they had a good decor. It was peaceful and well kept. The restaurant within the hotel was awesome, the service was excellent! One thing was the sleep number beds were not too convinient.

As a woman traveling with my 3 year old grandson I felt very safe there. The room was clean, breakfast was eatable and it was close to Main gate at Ft. Jackson. Which was why I was there. My sons graduation. The staff was friendly. The bathroom was not that great but more hot water then you needed it was so hot it would burn you. The mini fridge didnt get very cold. Those are my only complaints. They had computers that you could use and a printer so I was able to check in and print my boarding passes for my flight out. My grandson was able to play on one while I did my "work" on the other. I would stay there again. One downfall was you had to drive throught Shoneys parking lot to get to it.

don't have any complaints. The free continental breakfast was plentiful, rooms comfortable, I would recommend it to people. It wasn't glamorous, but it served it's purpose for the value. I like that it is non-smoking, our bathroom door needed some work though. I think the shower curtains let water out and the bottom of the door must have warped somewhere along the way.

I have stayed at the Homewood Suites on numerous occasions when my daughter is in town for dance classes. I have always found the staff extremely friendly and helpful, the rooms very clean, and the beds comfortable. It is great to have breakfast ready every morning, with plenty of options. I will stay here again!

really nice place to start our vacation

We decided to extend our week at the beach by leaving a couple of days early and going partway down and staying over the weekend in Columbia. We read in the reviews that this hotel had a lake and walking trails. We really enjoyed it. It was very hot weather, but we walked around the lake in the early morning and late evening. The trails were actually way more than just around the lake, they went for miles through residential neighborhoods. The room was adequate and the beds were comfy. The free breakfast was not great for vegetarians, the eggs had meat in them. The desk staff was very friendly and helpful. They also offered free use of bicycles but we had our own. The shower was OK, that curved rod was falling down and the shower curtain wouldn't stay in place.

Pretty good amenities. Ants came out on one of the tables at some point. The soap broken into small pieces. The comforter was very dirty with a lot of visible stains. Though I had the "do not disturb" sign on the door, the staff still knocked and was attempted to open the door.

Promptly upon check in (which was handled by friendly and competent staff) I went to the Manager's Social where I drank a free vodka & tonic. There were also some light snacks available. The room was large, clean and comfortable and the hot breakfast the following morning was much better than that offered by other hotel chains. I wouldn't hesitate to stay there again. Beware, however, if you use Orbitz to book your room. Despite clearly requesting a non-smoking room (my most important criterion) I was booked in a smoking room. Fortunately, the nice staff was able to switch me to a nonsmoking room, but only after a few tense moments of searching. I would have been quite upset if a nonsmoking room wasn't available.

The hotel is undergoing a face-lift on the exterior.
I stayed with a friend for 5 nights while commuting to the Masters Tournament. For a couple guys that don't need any frills, it was just OK. The price was right. My major complaints were; the towels were as rough as sandpaper, and the pillows were in desperate need of replacement. Other than that it was livable. I would pay a little extra for a better hotel next time.

just needs some updated rooms and service, the room smelled funny and the people hardly spoke english, the only thing i can say postive about this place is they let me keep my bags there untill i got out of my meeting so i guess it kinda of help me since i didnt have to tote my luggage around...LOL

Stay away from the Elevator

We have stayed at three other Country Inns & Suites in the past year, and have always have been quite happy with the environment, facilities and staff. However, this time they put us into Room 116 which is alongside the elevator, and it was a loud rumbling sound from behind the Headboards of our queen beds... The Manager, or Desk Attendant, [I'm not sure which] whom I talked to in the morning stated that we should not have been put into that room... that 216 and 316 had the same problem... He was sympathetic, but of course this was after the fact... I still think this Hotel group is superior to others where we have stayed... Just check your location in the building before using the room.
