Hotel management was very accomodating since I requested a l bedroom with 2 double beds and upon arrival we had a 1 bed with a double bed. We did accept a room with a king bed at no extra charge. Nothing else was available. They were very quick to change our room and help to correct a difficult situation. The location was terrific to downtown Charleston. It took no more than 5 to 10 mins to get there. We could even order pizza from the best delivery service with delicious pizza which was only up the street . No long waits, hotel told us about the business and how good it was and they were correct. Really appreciate all information they provided us with. They never avoided any questions that were asked of them. Very professional and helpful.

La Quinta comes in two parts. The old and the new. Stay in the new part if you can, the old is like a US Motel with outside walkways. The marina view is worth the upgrade. Convenient for Charleston but be careful of local cab companies especially "Express" they are unreliable. Breakfast is basic. Cleanliness is good. Staff are pleasant. Good value!

Had [...]confirmation for 2 rooms, each with king bed. Both rooms given contained 2 queen beds. Hotel first said it was [...] fault but when this was verified as incorrect, they blamed it on Best Western 800 number that [...]reserved with. Hard to understand how they felt no obligation of fault. I provided documentation of king bed booking but they simply stated they did not have any available nor would make any pricing adjustment. They stated I should be happier with the 2 beds as the room was larger that my confirmed room. In addition the rooms were not cleaned until after 6 PM one evening. Rest of hotel was fine but management did not seem the least concerned about my reservation details.

When we made our reservations, we informed The Charleston Place it would be our 30th wedding anniversary. Upon arrival they assigned us to a balcony room overlooking the old Market, and later that evening, sent up a bottle of champagne and chocolate cake.
The room, cleanliness, access to the historic district simply could not have been better.
We would return to this hotel again happily.

There are not enough stars for the service and atmosphere of this unique inn. The efforts to accommodate each and every need could not be duplicated even in a hotel that cost twice as much.

The staff was very friendly and welcoming. The motel itself was clean but very noisy. You could hear noise in the adjoining rooms. The lights in the room were flourescent lights with the old style ballasts that hummed. The location was convenient to downtown Charleston. This was a last minute motel reservation and filled our needs for the stay.

From the moment we arrived, the staff was very professional and met our every expectation. If you're booking through online, but still want your hotel chain rewards points, you'll have to do it when you get home; the staff couldn't or wouldn't do it. The location has to be the best in Charleston. The Barbados Room was great and the patio and pool areas are beautiful to spend time in. First time in Charleston and could not be more pleased with our hotel choice. We stayed in the older section which our room had great character with a brick wall and a very large bathroom and the most comfortable beds ever... Breakfast buffet was in the lobby or brought to you on the rooftop..and the wine and cheese hour allowed us to meet wonderful people...Charleston was a great city to visit with great restaurants and tours that will take you back in time and appreciate the history of this fabulous city. We especially loved the Charleston Tea Party private tour with Laura....

I wish there were more hotels like this one. Awesome modern ammenities and decor, reasonable price for the location. As a former hotel manager, this would be a dream property for me. It is a bit to casual on the uniforms and it made it hard to identify people that worked there. A each associate wore a polo shirt with a logo, but no standardize color. few minor faults. Frosted glass partition was awesome design but made for an awkward room sharing. A/C struggled to keep room cool until the sun went down. My room had a little noise from elevator. I was ok, but if you are a light sleeper, request the end of the hall.

The city of Charleston had much to see and do in fthe six nights that we were there. We enjoyed ourselves at a pace that left time for relaxation and dining at a leisurely pace. Of course six days of beautiful sunshine and interesting sights added to the enjoyment. Our hotel The French Quarter Inn, is located in the heart of everything and and walking to most places was an easy stroll. The staff was polite and friendly and willing to serve. Breakfast every morning was presented beautifully in the lobby or delivered to your room. There were always cold drinks and snacks available and wine and cheese with fruit served beautifully was set out at happy hour and milk and cookies before bed. The experience was as being a guest in someones home rather than in a hotel. Charleston is a beautiful clean city with friendly folks and surrounded by history. Hope to return again soon.

The hotel as well as the location around it was great. The central location of the hotel in the French Quarter means that most everything you could want to do or see is within walking distance. You can drive around if you wish but the streets of Charleston are very narrow and on street parking is limited. I also found the local prices for things to be quite fair and not what one would expect in a resort destination.

This hotel was refurbished so it has alot of new updates. The inside/outside pool and fitness room was nice. We were on the club floor which offer additional benefits so that was nice as well. Enjoyed our stay. As far as the club floor, the chair in the room should be leather and not cloth. There was a split in the fabric and decreased the "luxury" feel of the room.

This hotel had a great location. Near several restaurants and right next to the water. It had a great bed and breakfast feel without the price! We stayed for our wedding anniversary and were greeted with a smile. Very charming with solid wood doors, molding, wrapping staircase. Wine and cheese served at 5pm in the drawing room. Breakfast from 7-9am that included home made biscuits. Within walking distance of several ghost tours, wine tastings, open-air market, waterfront. Perfect!

The staff accommodated my early check in without missing a beat, and they were very responsive to any questions I had during my stay. While there wasn't a lot of extra space, the room was fairly well appointed with a couple of sitting chairs and a very comfortable queen-sized bed. I had one of the rooms without an exterior-facing window, but that wasn't at all bothersome to me.
Housekeeping came around in the evening to offer ice and turn-down service, which I appreciated, but declined. I also didn't take advantage of the complimentary hot continental breakfast, evening wine and cheese reception, or evening sherry nightcaps, but it was great that they were offered.
The only things I would have changed were (1) free wireless Internet access (only available via cabled connection) and (2) in-room coffee maker.

This hotel was very clean and up to date on everything.
The only thing we had a problem with was finding a cart when we checked out, however two young employees, Kevin and Ben, took care of getting out luggage and items inour vehicle. I think this happens everywhere, people acutally put them in their rooms at night and hide them so they will have them the next morning. This hotel was great and centrally located for our sightseeing tour.

The inn is very charming and in a fantastic location in downtown Charleston. You can walk to every restaurant and attraction so no need for a car!
The staff was friendly and the room decor overall was very quaint. The complimentary breakfast and happy hour each day was also a very nice touch for guests.
Great value; would definately stay there again!

We wanted a place in "The Heart of Historic Charleston" and Fulton Inn fit the bill; Broad St., East Bay, The Market, C of C and King St shopping all very easy. It is not a new modern facilty but it was very comfortable and charming. Continentel breakfast was average but delivered each morning with a big smile. The wine reception at 5 o'clock was vintage old south. Parking is a slight challenge if you have an SUV but you can walk to anything you need. Can't wait to visit again.

I had an excellent stay in the Planter's Inn. The decor was beautiful, creating an elegant but comfortable atmosphere. Loved the pumpkin pine floors and real antiques in the reception area. Staff was attentive. Peninsula Grill was a top notch restaurant - loved the pork chops and collards and the coconut cake! . . . . Only missing amenities were workout and wet area, but not enough of a negative to keep me away on future visits. I will be back.

Since we had to park across the street we did have to carry our luggage up a short flight of stairs from the lobby, but this was only a minor inconvenience. The room was clean and nicely appointed. The buffet breakfast although not free was a welcome convenience and was served in sunny, pleasant, indoor/outdoor surroundings. The staff was friendly and helpful and the location was great. I would definitely stay again.
