Our town is noted for the Equestrian community including Triple Crown and Fall Steeplechase. As well as POLO training and many fine training stables. Savannah River Site is located approximately 11 miles and we house there visitors both short and long term stays. I chose this hotel for location. It was in the exact area I spent all my time at. The staff was friendly and my room was nice. I felt very comfortable and safe staying by myself at night.

5 minutes from dowtown Aiken. Even though it is located on very busy Rt. 19 once you are inside you hear nothing from the street. Room was very clean and very quite. Staff was pleasent ,upbeat and very helpfull.

We stayed overnight after visitng my aunt at her home. The room was clean and well cared for.
The Sunday morning desk manager wasvery helpful. My wife had a mild cold and she gave her some ibuprofen and a box of kleenex. Nice touch.

Everything was very nice and clean. Would have liked the vanity area seperate from the bathroom,
but it worked out OK.
Breakfast was not included which would have been nice, even if only continental, but food was good and fruit fresh.
Overall, it was very pleasant and at a reasonable price.

The room needs to be updated. The carpet needs to be replaced. The bathroom doorjam looked like it had been chewed by a dog. At least the bed was clean.

The air conditioning did not seem to work properly so the room was hot each night during our stay. The hotel is in need of some upgrades, but the room and the location served our purposes well.

Pool was closed all 4 days we were at the hotel. The biscuits and gravy served at breakfast appeared to be the same ones 2 days in a row (I say this due to the biscuit placement/staleness and sausage gravy dried up on the inside of the crock pot). Came back from lunch to find our room had been touched up with paint so mgmnt brought us an ionizer to help with the smell rather than give us a different room or better yet wait until we checked out to paint.

All accommodations are elegantly appointed with period antiques, high ceilings with crown molding, deep soaking tubs, oversized towels, sumptuous bathrobes, featherbeds, and pillows. All suites and most guest rooms have fireplaces. internet connection. The grand lobby of The Willcox is all paneled in a rare curly heart-pine and flanked by twin stone fireplaces, it is a wonderful place to congregate for drinks or dinner. An intimate spa as well as a landscaped pool area also accompany the property.

My stay at The Willcox was beyond amazing. Customer service was exceptional from the front desk to the restaurant. Amenities were some of the best I've seen (fitness center, outdoor pool, mini-bar, etc). The rooms were large and comfortable; definately a great environment for relaxing. Overall, The Willcox is where you want to stay when you visit Aiken, SC. It is a beautiful treasure filled with history and culture. I would love to visit again!

Although the room was clean, the acoustic ceiling was falling off. The towel bars & other fixtures were not very secure (not good for a handicapped room). Stayed here for the Masters Golf tourney, expected to go swimming, will not be back!

This was our first stay at this hotel. Previously, I have stayed at the Holiday Inn next door, which is now the Aiken Inn. We were given a handicapped room on the first floor, without warning or choice. The parking lot was full, because somebody was selfish enough to park their truck and U-Haul in 4 parking spaces. The front desk was aware of this, but did not explain why they didn't tell that guest to park on the street. In-room brochure said to contact front desk for outside food delivery, but they only suggested calling the large pizza chains.

I stayed here 4 nights. I was here to see a high school graduation and visit with family/friends. I ate breakfast here twice and found it very good. The room was always cleaned and looked nice. There was a high back chair that would have been most comfortable to watch TV but its placement in the room made it impracticable for good TV viewing. The TV was an older model (NOT an HDTV flat screen).
I stayed in a room designated as handicap accessible. However that consisted of a couple of railings by the toilet and in the tub/shower combination. I would have preferred a shower without a tub to step into but I managed. Note: A friend in a regular room said the height difference between the floor and the bottom of the tub almost caused him to fall when getting out of the tub/shower.
One other problem involved the bathroom sink. Since I am handicap I have to lean on the sink while washing up or brushing my teeth. My last morning at the hotel I was brushing my teeth and the sink broke away from the wall. I managed to ease it down on the floor and called for maintenance. I was not hurt but the staff also never asked if I was okay. Not a big deal since the staff are very friendly and ready to help when asked.
If I ever travel to Aiken, SC again I would consider staying there again. However, I might first check out other handicap provisions at another hotel first.

We were in town for a college visit this hotel was clean and having the Microfrig was a plus as it allowed my son to keep and heat up leftovers from restaurant when hunger struck in the late hours. location is very convenient to all events in Aiken

over all it was ok I would rate a 2 or even a 3
the tub was leaking water and the light over the sink wouldn`t come on I had to remove the cover and twist the bulb to be able to see .Also the bed was hard and it was hard to get a good night sleep .

My brother and I were guest speakers and singers for a church that weekend. I was on God's business. The things that were missing for me was the shampoo and extra towels. When we approached the people working they either did not understand us or simple did not want to serve us. I had paid over 100.00 for two rooms and all she offered was two small packets of shampoo. When my Sister-in-law needed some they told her that she did not have any. We went to get extra towels because we had a 1 yr. old with us she only gave us one. We asked for more but she said only one. I feel if I pay that much money we deserve better service or people can understand English. The bath tubs had dirty jets. The floors were dirty. There were no fitted sheets on the beds. The sheets came off while you were sleeping. Compared to other trips this one was poor.

First got a room without a bathroom door. Was quickly shifted to another room but this was close to a bar hence very noisy at night. Location is excellent and very helpful staff.

We really enjoyed being located in the center of downtwon. Walking distance to everything, Antique Shops, great dining at Rose Hill, and the Thoroughbred Racing Museum.
