The room was immaculate, sheets and towels smelled clean and the bed was extremely comfortable. Had a city/marina view from the 5th floor, very nice at night and pretty in the morning. I was not happy about the 12 dollar a day parking fee in addition to the room charge. Also no entrance from the parking garage into the hotel. This was a problem at night, being alone and female. I can't imagine walking around the building to get inside in the winter time! Waited two days to get clean towels, not a major problem since I was traveling alone, but not great service. I booked in a package so the price was reasonable, doubt if it would be booking directly.

I had a pleasant stay at the Microtel in Erie, PA. The establishment is pet-friendly and very accommodating.
The complimentary breakfast was above par: "made to order" waffles, eggs, ham, corned beef hash, biscuits and sausage gravy, bagels, muffins, toast, fresh fruit, yogurt, cereal, coffee, tea and juice.
The room was small, but fine for one person (and dog) and came with an iron, ironing board, safe and hair dryer. The bed was very comfortable. The shower and bath were excellent, and the hotel provided any toiletry items you may have forgotten. I would recommend for people traveling alone (or with pets!)

This hotel was really great! The room, the continental breakfast, and the staff were all amazing. The room was small but very clean. The continental breakfast was really good! Both days we went to breakfast 30 minutes before it was over, and got HOT, FRESH food! And both days they had different foods (waffles, sausage gravy, different sorts of breads and pastries, yogurt, cornbeef hash, cereal, and a coffee machine). The only downfall was that the location of this hotel was a little farther from Presque Isle state park and downtown Erie then I would have liked. (10-15 mintue drive)I would definetly recommend this hotel to anyone who is on a budget looking for a clean, and safe place to stay.

The amenities are perfect. The pool was clean and the hot tub actually functions like it should. Front desk staff are friendly and very helpful. Excellent value for money!

Nice enough hotel for the cost

We stay at this hotel in order to visit family in the area. It's conveniently located and inexpensive. The room is comfortable and clean. There's nothing terribly special about the hotel, but for a cheap night's stay it's fine. The included breakfast is sufficient.

Staff was friendly and helpful. room was clean,but a little outdated and could use some sprucing up. Location was OK, but pulling out into traffic was a little tough in the morning and evening. Good if you are there to go to casino. Shuttle to casino was added bonus! Shuttle driver (Jim) was a great guy.

Relaxing family getaway

We went to Erie from Buffalo for a few days to get away and relax with our adult children.
The hotel itself and the rooms were very clean. Although I did not go in the pool, my kids did and said it was warm and clean! The breakfast in the morning was nice too. I enjoyed making fresh waffles!
Sometimes the staff was a little preoccupied and we had to wait for while until they attended to us even though no one else was around. We also had a little problem with an in room movie we rented. Other than that..a very very nice hotel!
If you are traveling to Erie to go to Splash Lagoon, they are right across the street!

While my mother was in the hospital in Erie, I needed a place that was close by but that I would be comfortable in and feel safe at. Wingate definitely fit the bill. Extremely clean, nice shower and bathroom, and a convenient work desk all made my stay very nice. Breakfast buffet had many options too.

Was there visiting son and grandchildren. There was a severe winter storm while I was there, which limited my enjoyment. But the hotel was fine, except they did not plow their parking areas, causing some difficulty getting in and out of the auto.

A pleasant enough motel. No serious problems. Out of the way, although the truck traffic on the nearby I-90 sounded like waves on a distant beach--sort of nice actually.

At the El Patio, you're just minutes from 7 miles of beaches at Presque Isle State Park. In addition to great swimming and sunbathing, here you'll find hiking, biking and rollerblading trails, canoe and boat rentals, sight-seeing boat tours, shore and charter fishing and much more.
Just two blocks from the El Patio is Waldameer Park and Waterworld, with plenty of rides, slides, games and shows. We stayed at this hotel 5 years ago and had a nice experience. This stay left a lot to be desired. The hotel was not clean, there was a giant water puddle outside of our room that I heard a few people fall in, the stairs were covered with cigarette butts and trash. Our TV was from really old and barely worked. There were tons of bikers that stay the same weekend as us and the noise, profanity, and drinking was out of control. We will not be staying here again.
