We were there for an overnight to attend a family affair. The location was perfect to get on a main street to reach the area we were going to and also to get on the free way to go home the next day.
We had no special needs, but all the staff were friendly.

We were very pleased with our stay at the Red Lion. Our room was clean, comfortable, and spacious. (We had an end unit.) The staff was friendly and helpful. A big plus is the van that picks up and delivers to the airport. There are quite a few restaurants within a two mile drive.

Overall I was quite pleased. Good location for downtown but if you are doing anything close to the U of O campus, it'll be a little bit of a hike. Good workout facility as well. Good for singles or families.

This is a budget hotel that delivers with comfortable beds, a nice clean room that is rather spacious, and a pretty good location within walking distance to food, the University of Oregon, and downtown. The staff is friendly as well. For your price you get a lot of comfort and you feel safe.

Staff was friendly and great, Clean Rooms, lots of nearby restaurants within walking distance, close to UofO campus and easy(appx 1 mile) walk to Autzen stadium through the park. normal continental breakfast if you go with the oatmeal dont even try to eat it downstairs water isn't hot just take to the room and use the microwave. parking is tight and not alot of it but had no problems on PAC12 championship day. Nice overall. GO DUCKS!!!!!!!!!!!!

Great Hotel, but not close to anything! It felt like I was on a dead end one way street. It was an adventure to find a decent place to eat that had parking or decent reviews. Gave up and settled for fast food.

Over the hotel it self served its purpose. The location was perfect for our intended visits in Eugene and the room was clean. It would be nice if they have better ventilation in their bathrooms but again overall no major issues. The rooms are located downtown so expect noise from an area of that type and the rooms dont seal in noise either but nothing to highly complain over. I would stay there again if needed.

Bathroom fan makes lots of noice and this is the first hotel I have been they charged to use the puller couch. Asked for extra bed and I was told to use the couch and charged $11.00 (told me $10 and charged $11). In addition they blamed me short of towles and charged $40.00. The towels are not new and great to bring it with me.
I used to stay at Marriott and this is the first time stayed here and will never do this mistake again.

This hotel was convenient and had a great price for a quick stopover. The room was a bit dated, but had a small microwave and mini-fridge which was nice.The only real downside is the beds were quite hard.

My mom and I were exceptionally tired after driving through California and then into Oregon. Truthfully, I was so tired I was ready to sleep in the car, but thankfully we'd reserved this hotel. The bed was comfortable - the only thing I would have liked would have maybe been an extra pillow, but both of us were too tired to go and ask for one. Pretty much we just crashed and slept through the night.
There was a microwave and fridge in the room. The TV got lots of channels.
Free breakfast - good stuff too, muffins, bagels, juice, applesauce, etc.
They're a short way from VooDoo doughnuts if you're in the mood for some magic doughnuts.

The rooms are nothing special, but they are clean and reasonably well maintained (better than most hotels at the same price level). What really sets this hotel apart is the STAFF. Helpful, friendly, and very accommodating -- I've not received better treatment at a $300 hotel!
Close to campus and downtown (both easy walking distance), plenty of parking, always enough towels and linens.
The only complaint is street noise -- but, turn on the room fan and it'll drown it out.

Stayed 4 nights, quiet. Management co-operated with our desire for privacy (no maid service) and need for an extra power strip (one outlet was at head level, behind a lamp shade so I didn't see it). Room was obviously being renovated when not in use. Toilet was not properly secure to floor, which may have been the reason for a blockage. Overall - an average room at an average-good price.

We only wanted a place to shower, cool off and spend the night after spending a long hot day at the Country Fair outside of Eugene. [...] It was clean, the bed and pillows comfortable, and best of all on an unusual 90 degree plus day the air conditioning worked great. As for others who have been disappointed, my comment is, I was only looking for a place to sleep - not be entertained, thus I was completely satisfied. Although the motel is in an industrial area, it did not seem unsafe either in the motel or out walking.

We came to Eugene for the Track & Field National Championships. The hotel was a 15 minute walk to the shuttle taking us to Hayward Field. We took a great walk from the hotel to a running path right across the street. The hotel was fabulous! All staff members were friendly and helpful. The room itself was perfect: kitchen area had all the amenities, bedroom had a large closet and vanity area, bathroom was large. My only negative was the loud and noisy air-conditioning unit. The free breakfast every morning was fantastic: eggs, sausage, waffles, pastries, yogurt, breads, fresh fruit. We spolied ourselves on a big breakfast every morning and then walked across the street and took a long walk along the Willamette River. I used the hotel computer in the lobby to print a copy of the track schedule and print my boarding passes. The front desk provided printed directions anywhere we wanted to go and we were close to the University, shopping, restaurants and Hayward Field.The hotel lobby had free newspapers, a "clubby, comfortable" feel, and large screen TV. I am sold on Residence Inn here in Eugene and will choose it elsewhere as well.

While the hotel staff was very helpful this hotel is very run down and lacks basis amenities. The room smelled of mildew and paint was missing from the walls. Certainly not a two star hotel!

Eugene is not known for great hotels . . .

Pros: clean, compact, courteous staff, refrigerator, microwave. Our tv broke and it was taken care of immediately.
Cons: Could have more variety for continental breakfast. Odd room refreshener smell in lobby each morning was overpowering.
Would come back again after hearing friends complain of their poor rooms at other hotels/motels in the area.

Meets basic needs

I was in Eugene for a show and all I needed was a roof over my head for cheap. This motel met that need.
The room was decent sized. It had a nice tv, good mini fridge and a microwave. The fridge did come in handy for breakfast items, since I needed to get up and leave early in the morning.
The downside was the bed was very hard and seemed smaller than a queen size. I was so exhausted I slept anyway. All of the lights in the room were florescent, so the room seemed dark even when all of them were on. Still this room met my needs, but not much beyond that.

Great staff

Without such an accommodating staff my impression would have been extremely negative. Unfortunately because it was move-in weekend at
U of O some of the guests were very rowdy. They stayed up all night and interrupted my sleep. The staff spoke to them when I complained. When they started up again early in the morning I brought my concerns to the new staff on duty and was not only offerred an apology but also a refund without my asking.

Everything was clean, staff very friendly, nice place. Only thing we didnt like was the beds. We both woke up with backaches. Would go back again if it wasnt for that.

Just a motel

We were in Eugene to run the (half) marathon and choose this hotel because it is cheap and close to the city center. It had all the basics a motel room needs, the bathroom looked clean and new, but with the typical motel color-scheme (brown/beige). It is located close to the farmers market. The nice thing is that the owner let us check out 2 hours later because of the run! So, a decent overnight stay if you only need a bed, a shower and cable tv.

Convenient to UO and 4 Stars

We stayed in this hotel last April and chose a room that was too close to the pool (chlorine smell) and noisy (faced the rest./club). This time we stayed in the same type of room only on the 4th floor facing the front. The previous issues were resolved. Fortunately the air conditioner worked as the temp. in Eugene reached 100 degrees every day.

The hotel was in a wonderful location for a visit to the University; it was also convenient to the interstate. We reserved a room with 2 queens and a couch and had the choice of ground floor or upper floors. Unfortunately we chose the ground floor as it was a bit noisy with the nightclub across the parking lot facing our window and people checking out early in the AM.Also the hotel's washers/driers were next door.I would strongly recommend an upper floor Very helpful/friendly staff. Chlorine smell in the hallway outside the room. I would definitely stay there again and choose room wisely.

after check-in,our card keys wouldn't work. it took four tries by the clerk to reprogram them to get it right. probably a software glitch.they were very apologetic and gracious about it and made sure we were ok.

Great Stay

We were only there one night. The check in went without a hitch, very friendly front desk staff and warm cookies. The room was spacious, 2 queen size beds, clean and exactly as advertised. The included breakfast had something for each of us and coffee to go. Even though it's a couple block fartehr to walk to campu, University of Oregon, than the hotels across the street, I will absolutely make this my next stay.

Hotel is conveneint to everthing. Has a breakfast that includes eggs for protien. Bed was a tad uncomfortable. I choose to stay here eveytime I come to Eugene because it's clean, friendly, reliable, and I can walk to where I want to go (U of O and downtown). Also close to the bike/running trails along the river which is super great and BEAUTIFUL!

Not much for the price

My family has stayed at this hotel several times over the past 4 years. Each stay has been average but the last one was marred. For the price, the room itself was very average; clean but in need of updating, the bedspreads were worn and the pillows warped. The first night we could hear our neighbour coughing from 9 pm- 3 am. The second night we enjoyed our floor vibrating from the live band directly below our room until after midnight. Why would a hotel with empty rooms, place guests directly above a loud party? The hotel did comp us a breakfast for the nuisance but we have paid less for a room where breakfast was included. Aside from the nice fireplace in the lobby and decent breakfast, I am hard pressed to find a reason to return.

Last year at this hotel, we had a queen bed room overlooking the pool and were delighted with the atmosphere near the river. This year, we paid twice the price for a large king size bed room that over looked a parking lot for a strip mall. Though the room was spacious and clean with a small fridge, microwave, couch and chair, we really didn't need or use the extras. If we ever stay there again, we'll try a river front room.

We've stayed here 3 times and each convinced us to come back. Staff are helpful, ever-present and gracious. Rooms are small (it was a home after all) but well appointed and very comfortable. Food was good. It is so convenient to downtown Eugene and Autzen Stadium (Go, Ducks!), yet in a quiet neighborhood. Best bet for lodging by far.

We only had a brief stay, wish we could have stayed longer. Next time, and there will be a next time, we will stay longer. The room was delightful, the staff effeciant and friendly. Our first B&B and a wonderful experience.

This hotel was nothing extravegant but for the money, it was great. The staff was nicer than any I had ever encountered and the location was just minutes from the downtown nightlife. Spacious rooms and friendly service capped this experience off. Will stay there again if I get the same price on my room.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE. DID NOT STAY.

THE HOTEL OFFICE AND ROOMS HAD A TERRIBLE ODOR. IT WAS LIKE MOLD OR MILDEW. WE DID NOT STAY AND WENT TO ANOTHER HOTEL.
