We drove up from TN to see a couple of hockey games. The location was easy to find, and located close to everywhere we wanted to visit. The room was great, and the staff were excellent. The only thing that could have been better is if we had been notified when we were booking our hotel, that we would need to pay $23 a day for parking. It was reasonable. We just don't like surprise charges.

Overall the hotel was nice. We did have issues with housekeeping where they didn't clean our room. We had to request fresh towels and toiletries, but they only brought towels.Check-in was seamless.The decor is nice. Our room didn't have a bathtub. Not good with a toddler. Like the Aveda products.The operator was a little curt. But overall a nice hotel [...]

Downtown Columbus Ohio
The city was better than I expected. I was beautiful, clean and friendly.
I went to Columbus for a week of school, so this was not a destination I would have picked otherwise.
Taxi service was plentiful, but a bit crazy! One driver wasn't looking and drove up onto the sidewalk for a distance of about 30-50 feet at about 20 mph! Thankfully he didn't take out any pedestrians. But if you're brave you can get around easily. Parking is costly.
Dinning was fantastic and well worth the research!
The Hyatt on Capital Square – hum, I was disappointed. My room was loud. I was awoken every night by people's doors closing. I could hear people's conversations that they were having in their rooms. I am a pretty heavy sleeper and usually I can hear slight muffled noises, but these were clear conversations!
The shower was another issue. Water temp would be fine to very hot and back and forth. Not pleasant. Also, hot water only in the bathroom sink.
10 bucks a day for internet! Come on! Let's get with the program. I'm even a Gold Member.
Very miserly with the cream and sugar for the in-room coffee. I would ask every day to please leave 5 cream and sugar packets – nope. Then with room services they would bring more coffee! They just didn't seem to understand my needs for sugar.
If I could choose another hotel, I think I would. For the cost, well I just felt I didn't get close to what I expect from Hyatt. I did see two of my classmate's hotel rooms (which were a lot less expressive and just as conveniently located) and I have to say they had it better. Robes, fridge, room safes and plenty of sugar packets all of which I wish I had.

The hotel served its' purpose, and that is about it. On a weekend as busy as this one, they were severely understaffed and not ready for the crowd that was there. Food was pretty good, but the service was pretty terrible. Rooms were nothing special, and of all of the Hyatts I have stayed at in the past, this was the least impressive. For the amount of money I spent on this room, I was not impressed with any aspect of my stay.

The Hyatt is in a new development and has restaurants within a stones throw. The hotel is new and has a crisp contemporary ambiance. The staff was very friendly and helpful, and made you feel welcome. Cool room with a big screen flat TV that you could watch from the sofa or bed. This will be my hotel of choice when I visit that part of Columbus!!!

Check in went very smoothly. All staff was informative, helpful and polite.The hotel, though old ,was clean and attractive. I would book at the Westin again for my next visit.

Wonderful stay at the Westin

I booked the Westin Columbus to get away from it all during a four day break... And it had just what I needed. This building is not only gorgeous, but the rooms are classy, with a simple elegance. It was perfectly located near German Village, which was a short jog... Short North is a couple miles Down the road as well, a short drive.
I ordered room service a couple times and the food was excellent; the mini bar was well stocked, and the prices were actually pretty reasonable.
They have a wonderful fitness center, Thurbers Bar, and High Street Grill.
Beautiful bathroom... It was the perfect retreat.
My only beef, and this is why its not a 5 star review, is that there is not free WiFi... I was shocked, and a little disappointed. $10.00 per day for WiFi, which is nuts in this day and age; I think given what I paid for the room, as this is a high class place, WiFi should absolutely be included.

When I walked into the lobby, the front desk had their cultural music blaring so loud I could barely hear what they were telling me. This was not a good first impression. However, the room was clean and the bed was very comfortable.

Really liked the "suite" type layout with a separate living area with a sink and refrigerator. HUGE big screen TV, beautiful view, and a pool for the kids. We were close to the campus of The Ohio State University, and some very good restaurants.

Hotel staff was very nice, the hotel lobby was clean. Had trouble getting connected to the wifi, called the front desk, they explained and then called back to be sure we were able to connect. Very thoughtful. Breakfast, a little sparse, lady watching over it snapped at a couple of people for trying to take food out, I think to a sick person as a person came in to eat with the people and promptly threw up. Our hotel room seemed to have had juice spilled on the carpet at sometime and wasn't cleaned up as well as would be expected.

We came to Columbus to see a concert at the LC Pavilion and the hotel was within walking distance and lots of great places to eat near by. The window AC was a bit disappointing, but in historic buildings that's what you get I guess. The breakfast buffet at the hotel is worth it. Hard to find a place downtown that's open for breakfast on the weekend.
There was nothing special about this hotel, but you can't beat a clean room and VERY helpful staff.
The tip about parking in the public lot down the street instead of using the hotel valet was a great one.

We selected the Drury because it was so highly rated on Travel Advisor. Everything was very fine except that the walls are apparently very thin and we could hear conversations and noise from other rooms that kept us mostly awake until 2AM or so.
I recommend it with some reservations.

We drove almost four hours to see a show, and on our way in our exit was closed. The wonderful staff at the hotel directed us right to the hotel. Without them we would have been so lost. Upon arrival they had a room ready to go for us even though we were early. The hotel was clean and comfortable. Our stay was great!

The hotel is updated and clean with very friendly staff. Convenient location to campus, downtown, and local restaurants, Wi-Fi included. The morning complimentary breakfast was more than I had expected. Only one complaint. The hallways were quite noisy with other guests coming and going. Mostly younger people. While I was away, I put a Do Not Disturb on my door. When I returned, my room had been cleaned and my DND sign was missing. (Probably a prank by another guest). The desk staff apologized for the occurrence. (it wasn't their fault). Next time, I will put my sign out and make a call to the desk to be sure they know not to clean the room. This was my second stay. I will definitely stay again and recommend to a friend.

The beds are new and are comfortable and I love that the room had a mini refrigerator and microwave. Other great features include a couch and coffee table, desk and even wood floors in the bath and entry way. One thing that really gets to me with motels is the often mildrewy smell or otherwise unpleasant odors when you first get there. This motel had no smells of any kind, no chemical rug cleaners or anything else. Very nice!

Perfectly located for the wedding we attended. Easy to get to downtown and other attractions. Great room with lots of space. Everything in tip-top shapes (which can not be said for all of the surrounding hotels).

I enjoyed my time at this hotel -- a step up for sure from the 2.5/2.0 star hotels. No second thoughts about taking a bath in the tub. I was hoping for a better/healthier continental breakfast and for a indoor or outdoor swimming pool, but since it was early April it did not really bother me. The room was quiet and clean. The staff was patient and informative. I had no issues or problems while staying there and the maids did not knock on my door before check-out time to clean up my room and bathroom. A fine hotel.

my room was comfortable and considering the lack of overall modernization the the bathroom was newly updated and very clean. even though there weren't many attractractions, restaurants, or shopping options nearby (within walking distance) my GPS allowed me to quickly get to where i needed to go. i would not recommend this hotel for a family with young children. very good value for singles or couples looking to save a dollar.

Great stay at the Lofts!

I had a wonderful experience at the Lofts. My room was clean, and comfortable, it was set in the heart of downtown around great restaurants, and an easy 5 minute drive to the Short North District, and a 20 minute drive to Easton for great shopping. The front desk staff were friendly and pleasant, the only small foul up was when my room key did not work twice, but it was easily resolved. At night when I turned the light on there did seem to be quite a good amount of dust...which i'm allergic to, but overall I really enjoyed my stay and would stay here again!

Was dissapointed - Hotel had awfully dirty carpets -UGH- took 30 minutes talking to an IT rep with a heavy accent to hook up to WiFi. Breakfast was awful. Not enough parking for all guests and overflow parking was behind a stone wall - NOT SAFE. Everyone was friendly.
