The staff was friendly and helpful. Our room was large, quiet and clean, and we had a great view of the Ohio River. From the front door, follow the hall to the elevator. The lobby is on the sixth floor. We didn't see a sign, so it was a bit confusing at first, but everything about the hotel was well above average.

The hotel room was clean. The service was average. The gym an pool were excellent. The breakfast service was not good. We waited 20 min to be seated. The workers came up an used cash register but never acknowledged us or the other patrons waiting. The front clerk was not very helpful with finding another place nearby for breakfast. I was disappointed the hotel did not offer a free continental breakfast like most holiday inns. The staff also left a soiled room service tray from another hotel guest dinner in front of my room door for about 20 hours. Very gross. Not the best stay I have ever had at a Holiday Inn. The service is usually much better. Over all this was an ok stay.. Check inn was easy an the rooms clean.

Wonderful stay at the Westin

I booked the Westin Columbus to get away from it all during a four day break... And it had just what I needed. This building is not only gorgeous, but the rooms are classy, with a simple elegance. It was perfectly located near German Village, which was a short jog... Short North is a couple miles Down the road as well, a short drive.
I ordered room service a couple times and the food was excellent; the mini bar was well stocked, and the prices were actually pretty reasonable.
They have a wonderful fitness center, Thurbers Bar, and High Street Grill.
Beautiful bathroom... It was the perfect retreat.
My only beef, and this is why its not a 5 star review, is that there is not free WiFi... I was shocked, and a little disappointed. $10.00 per day for WiFi, which is nuts in this day and age; I think given what I paid for the room, as this is a high class place, WiFi should absolutely be included.

Almost a Nightmare near High Street

Nice Fall weekend planned beginning in Amish Country (Walnut Creek/Millersburg) followed by a trip to Columbus and a night at the Lofts, first time staying at this hotel and my partner and me were both looking forward to it.Arrived @ 1730 and when I gave my name to the concierge, she looked at me and stated "We have no reservations for you." My heart sank and then I became a bit annoyed. I produced my confirmation number and proof sheet (I had made reservations back on May 9th through [...]). The young lady looked at me and stated "Well, we are sold out so we can set you up next door at the Crown Hotel." I looked at this lady and told her that this was unacceptable and she would need to contact her manager so we could converse. Within five minutes a young man appeared, I told him my story as he pretended not to hear me and he stated to the concierge, "let him have one of these three rooms." The manager walked away w/out batting an eye.As a healthcare professional who has done my share of traveling I didn't appreciate the attitude given to me by both the manager and to an extent by the concierge. In addition, I was embarrassed in front of my partner and in front of the couple behind us although they didn't seem to mind.The concierge did state, "we have no record of this transaction." [...]

We drove up from TN to see a couple of hockey games. The location was easy to find, and located close to everywhere we wanted to visit. The room was great, and the staff were excellent. The only thing that could have been better is if we had been notified when we were booking our hotel, that we would need to pay $23 a day for parking. It was reasonable. We just don't like surprise charges.

We had to request fresh towels and toiletries, but they only brought towels.Check-in was seamless.The decor is nice. Our room didn't have a bathtub. Not good with a toddler. We came to Columbus to see a concert at the LC Pavilion and the hotel was within walking distance and lots of great places to eat near by. The window AC was a bit disappointing, but in historic buildings that's what you get I guess. The breakfast buffet at the hotel is worth it. Hard to find a place downtown that's open for breakfast on the weekend.
There was nothing special about this hotel, but you can't beat a clean room and VERY helpful staff.
The tip about parking in the public lot down the street instead of using the hotel valet was a great one.

The room and location were great. Very clean and comfortable. The only drawback was the lack of an elevator on the lobby level so in order to get a luggage rack up to your room a bellhop had to wait for a special lift that did not work quickly. Also, parking was at a garage down the street.

We selected the Drury because it was so highly rated on Travel Advisor. Everything was very fine except that the walls are apparently very thin and we could hear conversations and noise from other rooms that kept us mostly awake until 2AM or so.
I recommend it with some reservations.

Downtown Columbus Ohio
The city was better than I expected. I was beautiful, clean and friendly.
I went to Columbus for a week of school, so this was not a destination I would have picked otherwise.
Taxi service was plentiful, but a bit crazy! One driver wasn't looking and drove up onto the sidewalk for a distance of about 30-50 feet at about 20 mph! Thankfully he didn't take out any pedestrians. But if you're brave you can get around easily. Parking is costly.
Dinning was fantastic and well worth the research!
The Hyatt on Capital Square – hum, I was disappointed. My room was loud. I was awoken every night by people's doors closing. I could hear people's conversations that they were having in their rooms. I am a pretty heavy sleeper and usually I can hear slight muffled noises, but these were clear conversations!
The shower was another issue. Water temp would be fine to very hot and back and forth. Not pleasant. Also, hot water only in the bathroom sink.
10 bucks a day for internet! Come on! Let's get with the program. I'm even a Gold Member.
Very miserly with the cream and sugar for the in-room coffee. I would ask every day to please leave 5 cream and sugar packets – nope. Then with room services they would bring more coffee! They just didn't seem to understand my needs for sugar.
If I could choose another hotel, I think I would. For the cost, well I just felt I didn't get close to what I expect from Hyatt. I did see two of my classmate's hotel rooms (which were a lot less expressive and just as conveniently located) and I have to say they had it better. Robes, fridge, room safes and plenty of sugar packets all of which I wish I had.

The hotel served its' purpose, and that is about it. On a weekend as busy as this one, they were severely understaffed and not ready for the crowd that was there. Food was pretty good, but the service was pretty terrible. Rooms were nothing special, and of all of the Hyatts I have stayed at in the past, this was the least impressive. For the amount of money I spent on this room, I was not impressed with any aspect of my stay.

You can't beat the location of the Hampton Inn & Suites for any downtown visit (especially the Convention Center right across the street). They catered to every need we had. The view out of our room at night was beautiful! The convenience of the parking garage was wonderful! Friends that stayed in other hotels nearby did not share the same opinions of their hotels.

Was in town for the Ballroom Comp. and could not get a room connected to the convention center but God brought us to the Hampton Inn just a short walk across the street. [...]took care of our room and any demands with a smile the door men and other employees were very pleasent to deal with but the 2 ladies at the Comp. breakfast were above and beyond no matter how tired or misserable you felt when you came down to breakfast you left warm and cheerful. We travel a lot for competitions and stay at a lot of hotels but only a few we can say we look forward to our stay at the hotel but this is one we cannot wait to come back to next year ! Thank you to the Hampton Inn and all your fine employees for making a long and stressful week relaxing and pleasurable .

great downtown location, nice room

stayed here bc it was within walking distance to meetings that i had in the downtown area. i only stayed one night, but was happy with service, hot breakfast buffet, big bathroom. room was arranged a little awkwardly to accommodate the kitchen, which i did not use, but was otherwise very comfortable, quiet and clean in appearance. bed too soft for my taste. i like how the cable service actually provided hi-def programming to match the hd lcd tv, compared to other places who just have a nice tv, but make you watch grainy standard def programming.

Was dissapointed - Hotel had awfully dirty carpets -UGH- took 30 minutes talking to an IT rep with a heavy accent to hook up to WiFi. Breakfast was awful. Not enough parking for all guests and overflow parking was behind a stone wall - NOT SAFE. Everyone was friendly.

We had a great experience and a relaxing stay. The staff was extremely helpful the entire time. We had one small issue that the staff resolved immediately with extreme care and concern. You couldn't ask for a better location and value for any event in the downtown area. Thanks for everything!
