I really enjoyed my stay at the Ace Hotel. The hotel has a sense of whimsy and fun. The room was nicely done and the bed was comfy. It's probably not for everyone since it is definitely kind of avant garde but I was a happy camper. The Breslin restaurant was excellent. All the staff were friendly and even remembered my name when I came back to ask more questions. I will definitely stay there again when in nyc.

This is a perfect 3 star hotel. It's very traditional with lots of gold around the hotel. It was a stones throw away from the Empire State Building. It was so close that we had to make sure our curtains were closed at night as the glow from the top shone through. The view from our window was incredible with the Empire State in all it's glory.
It was also very close by to Madison square garden which is handy if your going to see the Knicks, GO KNICKS!!
If you look at a map I would say the Wolcott is pretty much central in downtown manhattan. It is right in the middle between Central Park and say ground zero. We walked every day up as far as central and yes it's a lot of walking but you do want to see everything on the way.
The hotel rooms were perfect with a big flat screen tv on the wall. The rooms were always heated and never once cold. The were always tidy and never saw any dirt around. The bathroom was also clean and fairly standard although it did take a long time for the hot water to warm up. Wifi was cheap although signal in the room wasent great but down stairs in the lobby it was perfect and we used Skype for back home a lot and worked with no issues.
In summary the Wolcott hotel is not a five star hotel however we did not want a five star hotel. The only time we spent in the hotel was when we went to sleep. With that in mind we decided to choose this over a more expensive hotel and spend the money we saved else where. The Wolcott is similar to a premier in but much fancier, it does exactly what it says on the tin. It is lovely accommodation, great value for money and ideally located. Book with confidence you won't be dissapointed.
The attached photo is the view from our window with no zoom. What you see is what you get!!! Breath taking

We stated at the Gannsevoort hotel for three nights in December. The hotel was nice and in a good location. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The room was ok, we were near the elevator so it was exceptionally noisy which was tough with a 4 year old. The only issue we had was not all of the TV channels were working and it took two calls to engineering for them to fix it.
Would stay there again.

I have stayed at this hotel 3 times, now and it is well worth the price especially if you want to be close to things like Union Square, subways and great dining experiences.
The staff is very helpful and kind and they do validate parking which is great when that is the last thing you want to think about paying after a fun trip in NYC.

This Hotel is all about the location. It is right opposite Madison Sq gardens and close to the main subway stations. If you just want somewhere to sleep when exploring NYC and not that fussed about the accommodation then this is fine. The hotel is old and the decor is dated, we did have trouble with hot water but if your up early enough this is not an issue (we had an engineer look at it in about 15 min).
Bed was a bit small but comfortable, we had a Tv with about 30 channels, and we also had free WifI in our room (level 4, but higher levels might not get it). We did hear a bit of road noise from the avenue below but still slept well as we where very tired from the days events. Overall we did not have any major problems and the staff were always willing to help.

Location couldnt be better, overall I would greatly recommend this hotel. These were the only cons.
The Bar doesnt open until 6:30 on saturday night. we wanted to go to the hotel bar before dinner but that didnt happen.
The AC in the room didnt work. It was set at 62 but the room was 74 degrees.
Some of the cable channels were fuzzy including ESPN so that was not great.
Other than that though, I highly recommend

Went there for Thanksgiving Day Parade. Able to walk to Radio City, NBC, the train station and the parade. Nothing spectacular, but a good location and clean place to sleep. Price reasonable for time and location.

Die Lage ist einfach perfekt. Direkt in Manhatten dennoch abgelegen von den Touristenstrƶmen vom Times Square. Auch die Zimmer in den unteren Etagen sind empfehlenswert. Personal ist super nett. Gerne wieder....

The Dylan Hotel for The Perfect Midtown Manhattan Hotel LocationĀ
Located in the city's vibrant core in midtown Manhattan, the best of New York City is just outside our front door. We're only a short walk from Grand Central Station, Times Square, Central Park, Rockefeller Center, Empire State, Fifth Avenue Shopping and the great restaurants of Manhattan. Only a few minutes away from New York's Jacob Javits Convention Center Surrounded by excitement. Cradled in comfort. That's what a stay at the Dylan Hotel in New York City is all about.
Dylan's interiors, by Jeffrey Beers, mark a deliberate departure from both the too stark and overly hip designs prevalent in the high-end boutique market, all in the 107 rooms of the hotel. Beers has created a timeless look for the property that redefines opulence for a new age while preserving the landmark-quality architecture of the 1903 Beaux-Arts structure.
The hotel features rich tones like amethyst, jade, emerald, opal and amber. Fabrics are soft and luxurious. The grandeur of the Dylan's public areas is evident from the moment one passes through the entryway.

The staff at Park South Hotel are friendly and helpful. They continued customer service during Hurricane Sandy, after the hotel had lost electricity, was wonderful. Not once did I see any hotel staff lose their composure. They helped guests find other hotels to stay at, provided meals and internet access so that guests could contact their loved ones or make travel plan changes. The hotel staff demonstrated their professionalism in the most challenging of circumstances that was no fault of their own. I'd stay here again as the hotel is in a great location and is comfortable.

Great hotel in Gramercy Park area NYC

We were looking for a place to stay near the Gramercy Theater that wasn't going to break the bank. The Marcel, only a block and half away was the perfect location and the prices can't be beat for NYC.
The room itself was small, but well laid out that it wasn't a problem. (I do believe they have some larger rooms at varying prices) Very clean and the bed/bedding was very comfortable.
Overall, great price for the location and very comfortable. I will definitely stay at the Marcel again.

I really like this hotel. I stayed there once before but I enjoyed it even more this time because it was conveniently located just outside the crush of mid-town holiday traffic. The only thing I missed was the great Italian restaurant that used to be adjacent to the hotel. Apparently it closed a little while ago. No worries though -- you can easily walk to many tasty dining spots around Gramercy Park and even Chelsea. I also had a nice stroll to the Union Square Holiday market where I got some nifty gifts. All in all, a good deal.

Booked a standard double/twin room but they only had double rooms available, when i explained that i was staying with my mother-in-law they upgraded us so that we could have two double beds on the 11th floor. Beds very comfortable, great shower and bathroom, very clean, sheets were changed each day, not very economically friendly but shows a thorough clean was done each day. Free continental breakfast, unlimited tea, coffee throughout the day. Tuesday evenings they have cheese and wine in the lounge for free... we only came across this by accident and there is a sign on the door saying closed for a private function but it is closed to the public, hotel guests can go in. Great location, go up to the roof deck and you are underneath the Empire State Building. Gym looked good too (although didn't use it). Located right next to subway and Victoria's Secret opposite Macy's. I will definitely stay here again.

Very good. We were upgraded to a bigger room and had 2 queen beds, a large lounge with dining area, good size bathroom and kitchenette with dishwasher, microwave, coffee-maker and fridge-freezer. The kitchenette cupboards are shabby but everything was perfectly clean and great to come back to after a hard day's sightseeing.A few minutes walk to Grand Central Station, the UN, Macys etc and not far from a good supermarket.

Although we had no water/power for most of our stay due to Sandy, thank goodness this place was in a good location. The staff tried their best in diffiucult circumstances to help us and the location was excellent - especially as there was no transportation most of the time and so we were walking - could get to most places due to the central location. Great, but not luxurious accomodation.

The hotel was very clean. The rooms were big. The only COmplaint I have is that the AC/Heater kept turning on and off all night. So the noise from the fan was constantly turning on and off. Could not get a good nights sleep. I HIGHLY recommend, messing around with the room temperature controls before u go to sleep. If not you will be woken up every 5 minutes by the loud sounds of this Fan turning on and off

I stayed here for a weekend trip to New York during the holidays. The first thing I noticed is the friendliness of the staff. The hotel appears to be an older building that has been redone. The upsides: The room was spacious and clean, and the bed was comfortable. The downsides: The walls are thin - when the room next door would turn on TV it would come blaring through our wall. The bathroom and closet doors need replacing; you can tell they have been painted several times to make them look new. Also, the ceiling had cracks and needs replacing with new drywall. Not that I wouldn't stay here again, but I think it wouldn't be my first choice. As far as location, we always seemed to end up on the west side and had to walk to the east side, which seemed far. However, it was on a quiet street, and our floor was quiet, which I appreciated.

My boyfriend and I stayed here for one night. We attended a party a block and a half away. It was great not to have to worry about driving home after a long night. The location is perfect. A few blocks from 34th Street shopping and Penn Station.
The hotel was a little difficult to find from street if you're driving. There's no signage, door mat or doorman in front. Plus there was a bus stop in front which deterred us from stopping. If you pass it, be prepared to take 15-20 mins to get back around because of the thru streets during rush hour. After making the third pass I decided to call to find out the exact location. If it weren't for the doorman hailing a cab we wouldn't have found it.
We left our car for the valet and went to check in. The staff was great. They were very friendly, helpful and accommodating. They gave suggestions for places to order food and even printed up a menu for us.
The room was nice. It was clean, comfy and had modern furnishings. The bathroom was small. There was no room to move around in. The toilet was directly behind the door. There was no vanity mirror with an outlet close to use a dryer or flatiron. There was a mirror in the bathroom that was a high. Another little in the desk that popped up but you'll have to slouch in the chair if you want to see yourself. There was a hidden full length mirror in the wall by the window seat but no outlet. Other than that the room was great. I would definitely stay here again if there was deal on the rate.

This was a one-night holiday trip...everyone was friendly and anxious to please. The room was lovely and clean. The pillows were great...the mattress was a sleep number bed...not uncomfortable, but I don't want to take time to analyze my mattress while on a quick trip. That was the only thing I would change...the location is close to Macy's to give you an idea of where the hotel is located.

Being right next to Penn station is very convenient and lots of different subway lines to everywhere. The immediate location is great too - lots of restaurants of course. The hotel staff were good, including the friendly door staff. They gave me a free upgrade to a penthouse room, which was great, and though the kind size bed had an air mattress (sleep number) half of it was defective, but since I was traveling alone that was great (and probably why they upgraded me).

Small but decent

No big issues here. The room is very small, but maybe that is normal for the middle of NYC. Staff is friendly and everything seemed clean. Good location- directly across from a huge Starbucks and near a number of restaurants and bars.

Perfect location for our first visit to NYC. Walking distance to Empire State bldg, Grand Central Terminal, Times Sqr, Rockefeller Center, great shopping and much more. Little pricey, but that is what you should expect for a world class hotel. Staff was very nice and welcoming. It was our anniversary and they had a card, cake, and champagne waitng in our room. We stayed in a king suite and it was very large and well appointed. Loved that the drinks in the mini fridge were free and stocked daily. We will be staying here again!!!

Stayed for two nights because price was reasonable and hotel was next to our office. Room and bathroom were very comfortable. Staff accommodated our early check-in. Only problems were a flag outside our window made a lot of noise so we slept with our headphones. Also, our keycards stopped working the second day and had to be reactivated.

Hotel was very clean and was terrific for the price. The neigborhood looked scary coming into it at 3am, but it was actually just fine once I saw it in the light. There was also a little confusion over parking, but I found a surface lot right on the corner for $50 a day.
