NYC is great. Always something to do. Love the vibe of the city and the people. Being from Chicago I'm used to city life so it was pretty easy for me to adjust to New York life for those few days. My biggest complaints about the city is that they don't have easy subway access to the airports (this seems like something that would be pretty easy for a city that supposedly has the best train system in the world) and the lack of alleys. Trash piled up on the street in 90 degree weather was awful.

Fun, crowded and super weird - I liked it! I'd go back in a minute. Lots to do and tons of people around at all hours...being from Chicago, I'm accustomed to this pace. It is very expensive but it was a great experience. I cab'd it everywhere and didn't take the subway at all so I missed out on that part of the NYC experience but I had a great time.

Great place for a short weekend trip, in my opinion. There are great restaurants, numerous theater shows, clubs/lounges, and of course there are always sporting events to take in.

Getting there

Four airports and six Amtrak train stations are within 30 miles of the city, and shuttles, buses, subway trains, car rentals and an interconnected public transportation system make getting anywhere in the city easy and fast. Driving a car in Manhattan can be problematic because parking is pricey and street parking often difficult to find. Hotels charge extra for parking, so be prepared for that premium if you’re going to drive.
