Run the other way!

I was VERY DISAPPOINTED in this hotel. The entire hotel smelled like cigarette smoke. We had to get a second room because the first room's smell was unbearable, even though it was labeled a non-smoking room. When I went to the front desk to get a better room they didn't think they could accommodate me until I told them I would leave because they hadn't given me the non-smoking room I had booked. They informed me that the hotel was fully booked, however, after a few hours of being there it was obvious it was not. The second room did not smell like smoke but it was not clean -- there were hairs in the corners of the bathroom. I don't go to a hotel to clean up after others! I will think twice before I ever stay at a Super 8 Hotel again. There only positive things I could say about my stay there, the housekeeper was kind and accommodating when we had to ask for more towels, and the area is beautiful, and there is plenty to do locally.

This Super 8 is in terrible shape

Even though I placed a reservation for a non-smoking room, I was booked for a smoking room. Neither [...] or the motel would change it for me.The room itself (room 240) stunk terribly of old, persistent smoke. The hallway just outside the door stunk even more, as though the nearby rooms contained chain smokers who never left the hotel.Above the shower were several areas where the wallpaper had peeled away (possibly from the constant humidity) and was growing thick, black patches of mold. Trash from previous guests had been left on the floor, and the bathroom vent was clogged with what appeared to be caked dust. The room appliance - a tiny coffee maker - was dirty from use, and the room door made a loud, creaking/rubbing noise whenever opened that seemed to wake my toddler every time it was opened and closed. The motel had a stocked vending machine - a bit pricey ($1.75 for a Coke) - and a washer and dryer that was out of order. The included breakfast consists of breakfast cereal, bagels, doughnuts, oatmeal, tea, coffee, milk and juice that did not appear to be replenished once gone. I passed through at about 7:30 -- halfway through the time breakfast was available -- and there was only one bagel remaining. When I asked at the desk, I was told that they were out of everything, and that I should have been there earlier.

Hotel is dated. Front desk staff was very helpful. Hotel has alot of full time guests that seem to take over the place. Dogs are allowed. Barking was taken care of in a timely manner when we called to complain. Pool has been torn up for over 3 years with what seems like no plans to fix it. Perkins attached was a good feature and a discount on meals was a plus.

Air conditioner worked but was noisy. Fridge or microwave not standard which is odd these days. They must not have heard of Drano because shower was clogged from day one. Price was the highlight. Lots of shopping nearby.
