Very good for vacation

It's a nice place to stay. The room was very clean and comfortable. It was not a big room but is nice. The bed was huge :). The hotel is not in some expensive area, and the view is not very good (at least during the day). However it is close to the metro station and that is huge advantage. I will definitely stay there again.

I booked this hotel to be close to Manhattan without the Manhattan price. It was an average hotel, clean. Staff was pretty cool, let me check in super late (2 am) and let me extend my check out time to an hour later.

The hotel overall wasnt too bad at all, considering the location, I guess the price is reasonable. THe neighborhood was quiet for the most part until the last night when I was awoken by a serious fight within a group of people. THey were so loud, I think it woke up half the hotel.
Like I said, overall, it was nice and close to the subway, very nice. I'd go back.

Overall im only comlaining abot the price. Also bed was not as comfy. Close train ride into city. Also ice rink and food close by. But tv is horrible. Only 40 or so not to great channels. Also i liked this but i know people wont, the 7 train is right next to the hotel, so when it goes through it makes some noise. Other then that, it is an over priced then what i would of paid for.

First time to NYC

We stayed Oct. 24-29th and I don't know if I've ever met more pleasant staff! Maria, Micky, Louis and another guy (who's name I didn't catch but I believe is the asst. mngr) were all more than willing to help with anything we needed.
Both my travel companion & I have health limitations but the 15 min. walk to the subway (to Manhattan) wasn't bad. We also used the car service a couple times on our way to Manhattan & took cabs back at night. While the cabbies knew the places we wanted to go in Manhattan, they always asked us how to get back to our hotel & we had no clue. If you are going to take a cab back from Time Square or Central Park or Ground Zero or wherever, ask the front desk before you leave for the best way back.
The only downside was a lingering smell in the hotel (lobby, halls & room). But we grew accustom to it & only noticed it for a short time when we arrived back at night. The asst. mngr said the new owner only purchased the hotel 2 wks ago & they were going to be remodeling from top to bottom & even adding an additional floor. So hopefully the smell will be gone after the remodel.
Unless I win the lotto and can afford to stay in downtown Manhattan next time, I’ll most likely be staying at the Queensboro Hotel again.

The room was very spacious and was very comfortable for me and my friends to stay at. Everyone had space for themselves. We just hung around the hotel for the day and it was just a great place to do with everything that you need in a room.

Nice location at Queens, 1 minute walking to '39th Ave Station' lines (N And W) and 5 minutes to 'Queensboro Plaza Station' (lines 7).

I live in CT and I booked my reservation for a one-night stay because I was going to spend a couple days in NYC. When I looked at the ammenities it included "free parking" which was one the reasons why I made the reservation at this hotel. However when I got to the hotel the parking garage was closed because it was full and the receptionist said that parking in the street was not "as" safe. I was advised to park my car on the other side of the hotel (21st st) where the Best Western hotel is, (the parking garage is shared by both hotels) but I did not know the area well so I did not feel comfortable leaving my car on a street that I was not closed to. I ended up checking out at 7pm on the same day due to the parking situation.
Hotel is closed to the subway station (F). Didn't take the subway as I planned to but it was good to have close by.
NYC is literally like 10min away from the hotel - in car. There is a White Castle, Subway, supermarket, Dunkin Donuts, McDonald's, at about 3 min -car distance.
The bed's comforter was all stained, there were hairs on the bathroom door. Some of the walls were also stained and the room was a little smelly (humid). I guess it was ok for the length of time I was going to stay and the money I paid. I brought my own pillows & bed sheets.
The hotel staff was awesome... Very helpful and friendly. There was an indian girl when I checked it that was very sweet.

Location is more in the industrial side. I stayed for 4 nights for the NYC Marathon. The hotel is only 2 blocks from the F train which will take you to Manhattan in 10 minutes. I walked around the area at night and early morning and never felt like I was in danger. The staff were very friendly and answered all questions about the area that I had. The hallways weren't the prettiest, but the room was an average size hotel room and about twice the size of a cheap room in Manhattan. I used wi-fi and never had a problem with it. I would stay again as it is cheaper than Manhattan and only a few minutes away using the F train.

I was in NY for the weekend and found this place to be very comfy & cozy. Luckily, we drove (but paid $25 a night for parking; wish we knew before). Also, no fridge in the room but overall, a great stay.

Hotel is totally ok, location really good, only a few stops away from Times Square and Grand Central. Area is not dingy or dangerous. Cab from JFK was $35, cab to Laguardia $17. Great sandwich/burrito place close by (down the road and then across the street, has something with "Tozt" in its name - cheap and yummy). Staff was friendly, we had a quiet room on the 9th floor. Well, New York is expensive, that's why we paid $154 per night for a hotel that would probably cost $80-90 somewhere else... Can't complain, though. Breakfast wasn't bad, you should come early, though (otherwise too many people and not enough room). Complementary Wifi.

Perfect location for NYC travel!

The room was clean with basic amenities. It's a little small, but it works. We had a refrigerator in the room. Since we spent most of our time in the city, this was a perfect home base. The train stop is very close and it is a quick ride to Manhattan. The neighborhood is safe and I felt comfortable walking back and forth to the train. There is a 24 hour diner near the hotel that we hit on our way home. The free breakfast at the hotel was pretty basic, but it saved us from buying breakfast. We also used the free parking, which was convenient. Overall an affordable clean bed with good access to transportation and parking.

A good price for being close to NYC. Metro station to the city only a block or two from hotel. We arrived late in evening and there was sufficient parking. Hotel staff was very helpful.
The only bad remark is that the halls need to be air-conditioned during the summer, the halls and elevator were very hot & humid at all hours. And there needs to be elevator access from ground or lobby level rather than having to carry your luggage up or down a flight of stairs.

In dit hotel week een gelogeerd.
Na het lezen van ervaringen met argwaan vertrokken. Dit was helemaal niet nodig. Kamers goed elke dag schone handdoeken en gepoetst. Heerlijke bedden. Opbergruimte voor ons vieren was te weinig.
Ontbijt zeer welkom geen sterrenontbijt maar wel verschillende dingen om je dag mee te beginnen.
Cornflakes, koffie thee fruitsap yoghourt muffins donuts kleine broodjes en allemaal merkproducten
je kunt er zelfs wafels bakken.
Ligging op 15 minuten lopen van metro. Elke 30 minuten een shuttlebus gratis van hotel metrostation 33rd street en dan op 11 minuten van central station heel centraal in NYC.
Personeel vriendelijk en correct.

WOW! Best surprise so far this holiday

My wife and I had one night to spend in NYC. We arrived at Penn Station and really didn't want getting to and from the hotel to be our chief time investment. AND we wanted to have some money left to see the town. Verve Hotel was amazing. The desk staff were very polite and carefully advised us how best to reach the hotel via the subway including which side of the station to exit. The two blocks from the subway to the hotel are not scenic and suggest vigilance but once at the hotel WOW. The staff was helpful, the lobby was clean and well lit. The room was very clean, very nicely and recently furnished. The bottled water, robes, coffee maker, and quality soaps were nice touches as were the several nice large pillows. The heater worked, and was quiet. Breakfast was typical hotel fare, but one of the hotel managers was there to give directions, assure satisfaction, and offered a printed sheet to make sure our walk to the subway was without a hitch. Wonderfully friendly and concerned without being overbearing. My wife and I will go back again and feel this is one of those "secrets" that we were lucky enough to learn early in what will be many trips to NYC.

The hotel is very clean and spacious room for a
NYC hotel. One of the best features of this hotel is the location to the nearest subway station. Only 2 blocks to the subway and it only took 15 minutes to get into the heart of Manhattan. Would definitely stay at this hotel again.

This is a great hotel. Would be nice if it had a continental breakfast but it does have a nice restaurant and bar inside the hotel. Not to mention a swimming pool with life guard and workout area.
When you see it has Manhattan View well just make sure you specifically ask for the best few or you will be lucky to see a tiny clip of the city.
Upon arrival the staff is over the top. Always right on top of things and assist you in every way. There is also a cafe about one block right by the subway station. At this station you can take the N or the Q train and be in Manhattan in minutes. Have stayed before and would stay again.

Great manhattan getaway

Want to avoid Manhattan's hustle and bustle, and get a great room rate? Consider the Ravel Hotel. Accessible by the 7 and E trains, with a convenient free hourly shuttle too.
Great "by the glass" wine bar in the lobby!

I had the penthouse room on the 5th floor. didn't have any noise issues. (i don't think the club was open during my stay.) the breakfast was okay but does have an amazing view which was located on the roof top. The dinner menu isn't big but the food is delicious! The room was very clean. the bathrooms are spa like which was nice. the mini bar is a bit expensive but hey, its Vodka.. and i needed some! They do have shuttle buses that can pick up/drop off every hour. there is a $5 fee if its not on the hour. train station isn't that far. maybe a 10min. walk. (the one i went to was in front of a fried chicken restaurant) The one thing i loved was the bed. extremely comfy!! I really wanted to see the how the roof top changed into club. maybe on my next stay. i will most definitely be coming back!

The location one subway stop from Manhattan can't be beat. In Queens, it's close to P.S. 1 Museum, the Isamu Noguchi garden and museum, and the Socrates Garden on the East River. Staff is courteous and cleaning staff happy and cheerful. Great continental breakfast with other guests from all over the world. Good price.

Conviniently located to subway (2 different lines) and few 24/7 eating places. Since I have mites allergy, every new morning give me severe signs on the body. Otherwise is fine.

Although the room was larger than my friends rooms staying in other parts of the city I was dissatisfied with the cleanliness. The room smelled like an old persons home and all my clothing picked up the smell. It was outdated and needed some remodeling but if you are just using it to sleep its OK.

I was really upset when I arrived and found the claims (on-site) of wheelchair access was false; there was no elevator; I was forced to use stairs to the second floor to get to my room. Was in pain all night from using my cane and climbing those stairs.VERY DISAPPOINTED [...]

Very cordial staff, an affordable 24 hr basics restaurant, and our room had an incredible view of Manhattan. An on the hour free limo to Manhattan.

Hotel Vetiver is a beautiful new hotel conveniently located blocks from the Silvercup Studios in the heart of Long Island City. The hotel is also one block from the N,Q trains making it very accessible to Manhattan. The hotel features sidewalk cafe, fitness room, bar in the lobby and balcony rooms. On the higher floors of SilverCup, some of our larger apartment style units are still available for Longer Term Stays. Running a business overseas and summering in the Hamptons can leave one with less than half the year in New York. Over-sized terraced units with mini-kitchens can provide a more economical living alternative for one that travels throughout the year. We offer monthly room rates comparable to Renting a Studio Apartment while you can enjoy convenience of a boutique hotel including active WIFI and cable and maid service.
