This hotel was very close to Fort Greene which is why we chose it, but the price on Cheaptickets was great as well. The hotel turned out to be very good. We will definitely return for their wedding!

Close to A BUNCH of subway stations and at only 1 stop from Manhattan, the location of this hotel is great for the value. I enjoyed the modern, clean, hip, young vibe of the hotel. The room was was very clean, comfortable and well sized.
The only negative comment about this hotel is just one supervisor from their staff. He made me feel like canceling everything and just going somewhere else the minute I got there from the airport. He had the biggest attitude and treated me very rudely. Fortunately I told one of the other staff members about him, she apologized on his behalf and since that moment I didn't have any other bitter encounters with staff members. Bartender was very nice.
I would definitely recommend this hotel to my friends and the hotel management should be more careful with their staff selection.

Great stay! Just steps away from the subway and supermarket. The room was mostly very quiet at night except for the ice-marker near the elevator. The beds were very comfortable and the pillows soft. The furniture filled the room so there was lots of walking space for more than two people. The bathroom was very clean with soft towels. The breakfast area was too small to accommodate the large breakfast crowd but the choices were excellent. The staff answered all our questions and were very accommodating to our needs. I would stay there again.

Although not a great location for strolling, the value is outstanding for a hotel near Manhattan. We drove in to visit our son who lives nearby. There is free parking in a lot next to the hotel with additional parking available under the hotel.The hotel is new, our room was large, clean and comfortable. The bed and pillows were especially comfortable, great shower. The people at the desk were very friendly and welcoming. On the negative side, our heat was not working when we returned to our room at 11PM. The staff couldn't get the room thermostat to work and quickly arranged to put us in another near by room, not something you want to be doing at the end of a long day but we appreciated their effort to solve the problem. We asked for a quiet room close to the ground and were given a room on the ground floor which is actually slightly below ground, good for isolating street noise but you can feel and hear a low rumble of the subway passing next to the hotel, Not a deal breaker for us but could bother some people. The comp breakfast was just OK in a room that is too small for the size of the hotel. They opened another bare room for the overflow. Not too impressive but I cut them lots of slack since it's not the Ritz. We found this to be a great value since the parking was free and we were able to drive to our son's apartment and the best Brooklyn neighborhoods in a few minutes. A great value if you're driving. We'll be back.

We stayed in a king size bedroom. While the room was small, it had everything we needed and was new, well appointed and clean. Would have liked to have more TV channel choices. One reason we stayed at the hotel was because they took dogs. A great bonus, our dog stayed for free! Would stay here again when we return for another family visit.

New Hotel in Commercial/Residential area.Convenient to all Mass transit.Staff was courteous and helpful and service was good.Only deduct was lack of sufficient parking and the tightness of the parking that was there (15 spaces) .Overall a good value.We will use again on return trips to Brooklyn.

Was visiting NYC from Canada. Hotel was kind of small, and the location was right next to the highway. So a lot of noise and there is nothing to do once you walk out of the hotel. The room decor was okay, kind of small if you have 4 people in a room. I expected a sleep in to be a lot cheaper than what we paid.
overall, it's cheaper than staying in manhattan.

Yep the room was small and it was not a 5 star hotel. But it was clean the staff was pleasant and the free breakfast is what I expected it to be. We loved staying out of Manhattan and visiting all the little corner stores that were within walking distance of the hotel. The Subway was only 3 blocks away and it made us feel like real Brooklyn residents to ride it to and from Manhattan every day. We were within driving distance of the Brooklyn Tabernacle which was AWESOME!!! The neighborhood at first seemed a little scary coming from a small town in Ohio but we quickly found it to be charming and never once felt afraid to walk down the street no matter what time of day! We will come back and we will stay in Brooklyn! The hotel was fine for us as we were traveling with a small budget. No bed bugs and clean. I would go back

Perfect for Single Traveler Experience

I completely enjoyed my stay at the Union Hotel. This was the best “little” hotel off the beaten path and I thoroughly enjoyed myself. Even though the rooms were small and I do mean small it was more than enough for a single traveler. The staff was absolutely wonderful especially Igor after you crack through that hard candy coated shell of his. He is truly a very sweet man. The only downfall is that there are no security safes in the room for personal belongings. In the end I would stay here again. Its safe, clean, and quiet.

In the Hotel there is no lobby,just a regular house entrance.The room was clean and it had the regular requirements,like:bed,tv,bathroom etc.. but the size was very small,you just could not move around.If somebody was coming in through the entrance door to the room you could no get out of the bathroom.

I chose this hotel because it is near the place I needed to be. I am a New Yorker and know the neighborhood. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of this hotel. My room was clean, comfortable, just the right size for one person, had the amenities I needed, and I felt safe. It was a good place to spend one night in NY.

What can I say; unless you want to fork out three bills to stay on the island, this place is a great value. Just a block away from the Union st station (catch the R to manhatten; N at night), everything was convenient. Rooms were clean, small and updated. The neighborhood is commercial, so it may feel a bit strange in the evening, but it is very well lit up when walking from Union st station. Breakfast area is really tiny, but it is stocked with normal items. If you want a clean place to stay for around $100 and don't plan in staying in your room other than to sleep and shower, consider this place. It was great experience for us.

Great Location for Cruise Ship Travelers

The hotel is in the industrial area of Red Hook, but only 2 blocks away you have the area that is being redeveloped - a nice, quaint area with coffee houses, restaurants and shops. We were taking a cruise out of Brooklyn and found mostly cruisers in the hotel. The staff was excellent and very accommodating to our needs - calling taxis, holding our luggage, helping us with calling for take-out food. If you are taking a cruise out of Brooklyn and need a place for a night or two I would suggest this hotel. Not high end by any means, but clean, convenient and a good price.

The hotel is brand new so physical facility was in excellent condition. The neighborhood isn't great but it's the closest hotel to the Brooklyn Cruise Terminal - a several block walk. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The breakfast was good and the staff member in the breakfast area was extremely helpful. Parking is limited but it appears that most guests will likely be staying prior to a cruise and probably won't be driving to the hotel.

We stayed at this hotel on a Saturday night in late October during a TERRIBLE storm. The staff was very helpful and pleasant. The door was, unfortunately, quite thin.

The Best Western Gregory was a convenient location for us because of the proximity to our daughter's home. Actually we were at the motel for short periods of time. The staff was nice and friendly and the room was clean and roomy. We simply did not utilize all the amenities because we spent most of our time with our daughter.

Holiday Inn Express Brooklyn

I arrived late at night, maybe 11pm, having flown in from San Francisco. It was raining when I got to the hotel. I was informed that the hotel had overbooked and I would have to stay in the sister hotel, Holiday Inn Brooklyn on Butler. My room there was barely acceptable. The tv was missing the remote. I called and a technician came holding another one. Told me there were six missing at the hotel and his was the last one. He finally consented to loaning it to me. Presumably the people after me were fat out of luck. The next day I had to check out and trot back to the the Hotel for which I reserved and paid for the room months ago.

This is a very small no nonsense stripped down hotel. I was visiting my daughters who live nearby and needed a place to sleep in peace. I have one complain which is that the walls were extremely thin and I could hear next rooms TV and conversations without trying...

Brilliant stay. Hotel room was absolutely spotless and I am fussy when it comes to cleanliness! Hotel staff were extremely helpful giving us maps and directions of how to get to different places, as well as being polite and professional. Subway was less than a 10 minute walk away and just a 20 minute subway journey to Time Square. Neighbourhood was safe and supermarket just round the corner. I would highly recommend this hotel to others and would definitely stay there again.

The staff was very nice and the room was clean and very comfortable. Had parking, albeit a bit cramped, but in NY that's what you'd expect. No complaints here. Would stay again when in the area.

To start Mohammad was a lot of help, he went out of his way to help me; from storing my bags before check-into helping find a place to eat and another place to eat when I wanted a snack later. He was very friendly which is a lot considering he was there all day. He also gave me direction to the New York Aquarium so that I could walk there from the hotel. The hotel is located in what I would call a safe area. There are a lot of resturaunts right near the hotel. I would definately go back to this hotel. It would be the first place I would look.

We had a fantastic experience at the NY Marriott at the Brooklyn Bridge. It was clean and comfortable. The doorman was always friendly and asking us if we needed directions. It is a short walk to the subway. We walked the Brooklyn Bridge, went the the Natural History Museum, a Broadway show, walked in Central Park, Time Square. It was a wonderful adventure with my family for my 40th birthday.

Extremely dissapointed. The train was right at my window and it ran all night long. Couldnt sleep a wink. Bathroom had mold all over tub,very small room.

really there are only two hotel choices in this area and the other one is close BUTTTTT there is a very loud club downstairs from this comfort inn- hotel is fine- boom boom boom until 4 AM not good- you choose for me i would go back to the other hotel which is closer and no club- either place is on the street so each have much noise- ps i grew up in NYC

Hotel Le Bleu was fine for what we were looking for, which was a hotel close to Brooklyn Pier 12 on the night before our cruise departure. Service was excellent. Food at the restaurant was very impressive, however the price of drinks was extraordinarily high - two glasses of wine and one beer cost more than the two main meals.
If my next cruise is also out of New York, I would go back to Le Bleu

It was a great hotel with very nice amenities that we enjoyed very much. The only downside was that the lighting was a bit dark at night. Other than that, I liked the glass shower area and the mood lighting in the room. The nice big plasma screen TV was a nice touch. Also the complimentary breakfast delivered to your room is very very nice. We liked that very very much. Just wished there were more items with that complimentary breakfast. Another downside was the lack of ice machines in the hotel or at least on the floor I was in.

Hotel was clean and compact. For the price I paid, I am satisfied. Wish they had few more spots for parking, also it will be great if their windows are upgraded to block road noise.

very very very bad area!! I heard nothing but ambulance and police cars all night, plus I was afraid to walk down the street by myself even in day light. I will never stay here again and will not recommend it to anyone I don't want to die. I tried to cancel the day before and they would not give me a refund and were going to charge me more than the room was worth in as a cancellation fee that's the only reason I actually stayed there and didn't get to switch my hotel. Very disappointed.
