I stopped here on my way to and from Niagara Falls. After reading some of the reviews on here I was a bit worried about what to expect. The location isn't that bad but there's no good views either. The staff was friendly but the motel itself just seemed dark and dismal. The hallway leading to my room had a strange aroma of pancake syrup. The room itself was clean but had a strange odor that I couldn't quite identify. It was a bit noisy (slamming doors) all night. I did not take advantage of the continental breakfast. Would I stay here again? Maybe. It was cheap.

The staff were amazing, the pool at the fitness center, awesome, with great hours. The rooms were clean, arrival was at 3p, check out at 12p the next day which was exactly what we needed. Breakfast was great too!! Our only disappointment was our meal in the bistro - the special that night was bland and tasteless and the steak my husband had was fatty. The service in the restaurant was great, however and the band that was playing in the lobby was really good too. Location was so so, but for the deal we got and all the pluses we would absolutely stay there again : )

Riverwalk is being upgraded to a Hilton and you can tell. Nice lobby, bar, etc. Complimentary breakfast was okay, but everyone was very nice.

The location and room of this hotel were fine. However, when we went to check out in the morning, there was no one at the front desk. We waited nearly 10 minutes while the front desk clerk walked her dog, which was very frustrating.

I was there for the American Legion Convention. The air conditioner did not cool the room, I found trash in the dresser drawer, I found the TV remote under the bed. It was quiet.

If this hotel was renovated in 2009, I would really hate to see what it looked like before. The room was good enough (comfy bed, two sinks, wi-fi), but the cleanliness and overall appearance left much to be desired (mildew on the shower curtain, crumbling ceiling, sticky carpeting). The neighborhood appeared sketchy at night and the atual hotel was not clearly marked and back off the street. There were plenty of other hotels down the street where I wish we were staying. Overall, we got what we paid for.

Old but Charming Hotel

The hotel was charming given its architecture and historical significance. The location was a plus being in the entertainment and downtown district. A great value given the decent rate, but the service was spotty. Forgot to clean our room one night and they were not able to repair a towel rack that fell apart in the bathroom. The room was decent and updated yet small. The hotel in general is old and dated, but again charming.

I've stayed at this hotel before. Its great for alumni weekend because its right on the main street downtown. It has some old world charm but the rooms are pretty small and it can be noisy if there's an event going on in the ballroom.

I took my granddaughter & one of her frieds to the Binghamton Spiede Fest. Our hotel was located just a couple blocks away from the festivals location. After spending the day enjoying music, food, etc. we caught a ride on the parking lot shuttle & spent the late afternoon/early evening hours in the hotel pool. From the pool we enjoyed watching the evening lift off of the festivals hot-air balloons - marvelous. We awoke in the morning to enjoy one of the most delicious breakfast buffets - my granddaughter was super happy about the homemade waffles.

It was perfect. The room was clean and quiet with a price you can't beat. We arrived late and left pretty early in the morning. It was located right off the highway so very convenient. Perfect for what we needed. Bonus was they allowed our big dog with no extra charge.

My only negative comment was the funky odor upon entering a non-smoking room ... smelled like a used men's shower in a heavily visited gym. The odor however was only by the front door.
