We were looking for a simple LOW COST room and this was a good value.
Our room was small but adequate. The bathroom was clean but the main room could have been a little cleaner. Bed was comfortable. WiFi internet in the room worked well. Staff was friendly and courteous. Hallway doors made some noise when closing, but once we knew where the noise came from we had no trouble sleeping through it.
Self serve breakfast buffet was limited but acceptable for this type of hotel. The location directly across from a large Mall and many area restaurants was ideal for us.
We would stay at this hotel again.

We stayed there for one night in the middle of our trip. When we got there at 1am the toilet and shower in our room had no running water so they had to move us into a smaller room. Both of the rooms were clean. The carpets and bathrooms were very old though. For one night it was ok. BOTTOM LINE: I WOULDN'T RECOMMEND FOR FAMILIES OR FOR MORE THAN ONE NIGHT.

I come into Albany regularly, and after trying out most of the cheap hotels on Central and Wolf, I've pretty much committed myself to staying at the HoJo. They have good wifi, a good selecting of TV stations, perfectly fine rooms, and a very good contimental breakfast that isn't set up in the front lobby, so I can enjoy it in my pajamas without having someone looking over my shoulder the whole time. Housekeeping had the uncommon sense to leave the heat on and the TV on while I was gone for the day- I HATE walking into an icy room in the winter.

Clean, convenient, accommodating weekend stay

We were visiting our son for parents weekend at college in Troy,NY, so the location of the hotel was just right in Albany near the airport. The drive to Troy was only 10 minutes. Our first room was comfortable and very clean, but very noisy--we were right beside the stairs on the second floor with a door that slammed shut loudly with any foot traffic, which started early with the breakfast crowd Sat. AM. However, we requested another room that morning and the staff was very polite and accommodating; the next room was perfect--almost identical to the first room, overlooking the lovely inner courtyard garden, and quiet !!! The indoor pool was clean, refreshing! Breakfast was delicious, well maintained, nutritious, and abundant. Overall, we enjoyed our stay, and may return in the Spring for graduation.
